people do make music within this groove/funk genre these days, Jamiroquai doesn't unfortunately.......one of my favorite performers, sir Karl Denson...check out all of his many projects; Karl Denson's Tiny Universe is the closest contemporary american band i can think of that would fall within this Jamiroquai-esque genre
