I've noticed that ever since Heath Ledger's death, the Joker has been dying a lot more in other things. Like in the New 52 comics, his face was cut off. And in this game he dies of Titan poisoning. And even Mark Hamill, who voiced Joker famously for years, is retiring from the role! It's like they are intentionally killing him off in all of his incarnations.

Even if he wasn't, in the comics it was established that Clayface using a Lazarus Pit would render it useless and do nothing to him. So... Yeah.

As for Mark Hamill, he has said he would do the Joker again if he felt he could keep raising the bar. This was his best yet, sure, but he has never once gone down a level. He'll be back.
