  • Amen!

  • texan first american second

  • The USA has been taken over by a supra national de-facto government. It's illegal...simple as that.

  • Its difficult to see EVERYBODY as equal (E Plurabus Unum) when there is a foreign economic power taking over the US government...by supra national econometric treaty.

  • If every country becomes a independent nation, we could have warring states. States would fight wars when there are disputes. A central government could solve disputes in the courts, but independent nations will solve disputes with bullets and bombs.

  • To No Guff:

You seem to believe that the States, freed to choose for themselves how to govern themselves would not reform two or more "confederations", linked by a common desire to be governed as their people wish. The old saw about being conquered if we are not a continental empire is untrue. A free South would be governed with the same rights and freedoms the founding fathers intended. It would be a true Republic, not a consolidated tyranny such as we have now.

  • The guy on the right is simply not thinking this through, and therefore he's an idiot. If there is no federal government, and all the states are separate nations, the states would be invaded and taken over by Mexico, for one, because there would be no common defense. One nation, under God, not fifty squabbling ones.

  • the guy on the right represents the southern republic. what he said he was using to make an example. how would there not be a common defense. an invasion has already started with mexico and the govt isnt doing anything about it. the southern states taking the brunt of the abuse. sucession is the answer to fix this messed up country.

  • I'd have few problems with letting Vermont secede so long as all the Socialists & America haters living here moved there and then we could let them all go. Then we place a nice "Cuba-esque" embargo on them, and write them off. B-bye!

  • Stepper11: "BTW, just you go ahead and try to vote yourself out of this "democracy". Just go ahead and try."

You have missed the point of the video. The US government has already shifted toward communism and socialism because liberals appeal to people's hatred and greed and get them to vote out our democracy. That's why so many people that believe in the constitution are getting frustrated. Lord Al Gore and are setting the US up to be ruled by foreign powers (world government)

  • You are exactly right.

  • I don't think these guys realize how many people would jump to action if someone made the first move to lead.

  • I would tend to disagree. So far there are too many leaders that keep the groups factionalized and radicalized. There is no shortage of people wanting to be leaders, however there is a vast shortage of people that are competent and moral enough to lead. Just look at Washing DC, the political campaign or any government in the world.

  • There is no shortage of idiots and morally bankrupt people that want to lead. Part of the problem with politics is the very few leaders that are relatively smart and moral; when the do get in power they are smeared and slandered. Like the Indians (native Americans) used to say, there are too many corrupt idiot chiefs and not enough Indians.

  • The vet he referred to at the beginning is a stud. Wish all Americans had some guts.

  • I would say its a bit more racist than anything.

  • So you call it racist to stand up against racism? If the Mexicans want to come over fine, just as long as the do it legally civilly and assimilate, instead of dominating with racism and other hatred. You sound racist jhagar2.

  • Nations rise and nations fall. We are a dying empire, lads and lasses. The government is getting bigger, the population is swelling, and the forces that bind us together are diminishing. Just how long can these trends continue without the nation falling apart? Just ask the Romans.

  • I really wouldn't classify the US is an empire.

To see a philosophy of a weak America, search YouTube for

    Catch 22 art garfunkel

  • We tend to not think of our nation as an empire, but just count the theatres in which we have a military presence. We like to build nations in our own image. We think of "Democracy" and "openness" as noble, enlightened ends (and they may be )but we certainly do impose them on weaker nations.

  • That's not the same thing. In a democracy, you can vote yourself out of a democracy. Subjects cannot vote, themselves out of an empire. In an empire the other nations are subjects. The empire continues to long term dominative control the subjects. The US is giving Iraq a shot at democracy, it's up to Iraq if the stay or stray. Iraq's fate is in their own hands. If peace fails in Iraq, it's their own fault.

  • Before the US interrupted, Iraq was stable. The people were oppresed, yes, but it certainly was stable.

  • jhagar2 Germany and Japan was stable too, till we interrupted and ruined their plan of word domination and genocide. So are you upset we interrupted escalating genocide?

Would you be happier if Saddam decimated the Middle East, oil hit 2000 USD a barrel before all the dominos fall to Armageddon/WWIII? I guess your one of the people that doesn't care if it's just foreigners dieing, but sooner or latter they would have come for us.

  • It is Imperialism with a populist veneer as opposed to an autocratic one. An expansionist zeal for imposing one nation's will on other nations is Imperial by definition. BTW, just you go ahead and try to vote yourself out of this "democracy". Just go ahead and try.

  • Stepper11: I would largely disagree. When the US invades another country it largely dictates at the start but the transitions to a democracy. You only see one side at one moment.

  • Have to respectfully disagree. I think it is you that sees only one side. We may be doing a good thing in Iraq and other places. But if we are to be honest, let's just admit that WE like democratic ideals, while others may not. If they don't concur, we conquer. That is imperialism, enlightened or not.

  • I can't believe this guy wants to stop California from ceceding!

  • Funny. In some ways I think we would be better without California because it is so screwed up and liberal. However it would be better to have the liberals that are there now then have even more radical liberals that they might become during succession. It would really screwup our trade to lose the seaports and industries that are in California. I used to joke that we would be better off without New York, but since 9/11 I don't make that joke anymore.

  • Is that why everyone hates California? We're not actually as liberal as everyone seems to think.

  • Home of homosexuality in the US. Home of Hollywood. Cities that fire city workers that can't speak Spanish but hires people that can't speak English. Chosen home of Charles Manson.

  • First sensible thing I've ever heard this guy say. Secede from the murderous empire!

  • carolmoore: For the most part the US does not meet the classification of an empire. You need to learn the difference. Get an education.

  • "The Center Can't Hold"

Right. Good. Look around. Things are so bad right now that the people who propose only minor changes to the status quo need to be rejected. It's the extremists- of both sides- who recognize that things aren't all well and good.

And by the way, I'm not an American "first, last, and always". I love my local neighbors and my foreign relatives much more than I love some stranger I've never met in California, just because he's a "fellow American".

  • Beck is a gasbag. Long Live Secession!

  • Biniou7: If Glenn is a gasbag, then you should have something in common.

  • Secession is the right of all free people.

God bless and free our Southron homeland!

  • RedShirtArmy "Secession is the right of all free people"

That is a lie. Sounds like you've been drinking that socialist Kool-Aid. I think Texas is the only state that has the right to succeed. I wouldn't be surprised if the federal government tried to stop them if they tried to succeed.

  • We need local people, our neighbors involved in our lives instead of the Holy Father of Washington DC. I am really tired of them passing the plate.

Recently because of an invasion by black politicos, sanctioned by our government, the people of the state of Louisiana have to pick up the tab for water, medical, police, and all manner of services to this mob that crossed our borders.

It has long been time to take our SOUVERIGNTY back!

  • Cajiedog: I partly agree with you, the federal government is too big and powerful and has its business in too many places that it shouldn't. I think we still need a federal government because we need a strong defense and organization and coordination. The federal government was originally created to protect and defend US interests.

  • It has apparently gotten so bad in the southern nationalist movement that they have to go to bed with the north just to move forward...how sad is the LoS???

  • In your description you liken these groups to Hitler??? Describing exactly what this corrupt government is doing in terms of stifeling freedom as what these groups might be doing. Then...you list (cia monitered and edited) wikipedia as your top "fact" source?? Glenn...is that you??

  • HEYBUDD "Then...you list (cia monitered and edited) wikipedia"

You must of missed a dose of your psychotropics, you better take your medication before you start hearing and seeing the people in the black helicopters coming after you again.

I would expect the CIA to scan/monitor all of the Internet. However I doubt they micromanage wikipedia by editing it. You seem paranoid and delusional.

  • According to Reuters, "CIA and FBI computers have edited entries in the online encyclopedia Wikipedia on topics including the Iraq war and the Guantanamo prison, according to a new tracing program.

And I have been to public showings of NATO black helicopters here at Texas schools. What planet are you living on?

  • HEYBUDD: Essentially anyone can edit Wikipedia, so why shouldn't they be able to? "Wahhhhhh!" hardly amounts to a sinister black helicopter conspiracy. ;) You seriously seem like a paranoid delusional drama queen.

  • HEYBUDD" NATO black helicopters here at Texas schools. What planet are you living on?"

NATO helicopters is hardly what I would consider a conspiracy by the US government. If anything it might be approaching a violation of the Constitution. Some people might consider that foreign troops on US soil. I'm on earth. I don't know what planet you are on.

  • Your the one who mentioned black helicopters being some threat. Your the one who said that the CIA monitering was some part of a "theory". I've got my head on straight and do not try to see everything as a conspirisy "theory" and do not attack and call names instead of rational disscussion. I bet you believe in the theory of evolution. You seem to be pretty twisted. Not posting comments cause you have no substance?

  • HEYBUDD: Hypocrisy. You have been dodging issues, using straw arguments as diversionary attacks, ect... It's particularly evident when your comments are analyzed from several videos that your SOP is to dodge the issues and use straw arguments as diversionary attack tactics.

  • HEYBUDD: Maybe someday you will learn the difference between a legitimate theory such as "evolution", the "Big Bang" from "nuty" conspiracy theories like yours. When the facts and logic back a theory it is considered a good theory. When the logic is irrational or weak and or the evidence is misused, misinterpreted or misrepresented to support an extremely flimsy theory that is a "nutty" conspiracy theory. Like your typical nutty conspiracy theories.

  • HEYBUDD: I was stereotyping you and making fun of you as a joke, pointing out that you are a conspiracy not. You're so loony in such a conspiracy nut that you missed my point, but you proved my point, by missing point; instead ranting about NATO helicopters at Texas schools. You just made a major fool of yourself in several ways yet again. You never get tired of hanging yourself, you are a source of entertainment.

  • You have been the only one to mention a conspirisy involving black helicopters. You are truly delutional.

  • HEYBUDD: "You have been the only one to mention a conspirisy involving black helicopters.."

    Your previous comment.

HEYBUDD: "And I have been to public showings of NATO black helicopters here at Texas schools."

An online tool that claims to reveal the identity of organisations that edit Wikipedia pages has revealed that the CIA was involved in editing entries.

Wikipedia Scanner allegedly shows that workers on the agency's computers made edits to the page of Iran's president.

  • HEYBUDD: BBC "On the profile of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the tool indicates that a worker on the CIA network reportedly added the exclamation "Wahhhhhh!" before a section on the leader's plans for his presidency."

Your hilarious. "Wahhhhhh!" is really something to be concerned about and is sinister micromanaging? It seems more like something they would do as a joke on their lunch break.

  • The noble, moral center of this country that Glenn is looking for IS the dissenting groups that are against the corrupt Government Glenn tries to get everyone to accept.

  • HEYBUDD: I think you missed Glenn's point. I think he was saying pretty much everyone is fed up with the government. However I think the people have different views on what should be done, many people like me think there should be less government, particularly federal government. However there are some people like the Democrats that think the federal government should be stronger.

  • You and Your buddy Glenn may "think" what ever you want, but some of us are concerned with facts.

  • HEYBUDD: On the contrary we are the ones with the facts. If you have facts how come you haven't used any yet? ;) Virtually everything you have posted so far is rhetoric, the only facts you've used have been twisted. Once you twist them they are no longer facts.

  • Government must be rebuilt from the ground up -not just the "Federal Government"- because the whole of our system is corrupt and wrought with enemy infiltration throughout our nation.

Everywhere you turn there is another citizen being grossly violated, beaten or attacked by police and "officials" or institutions there-of.

A criminal, corrupt, treasonous government cannot be trusted to "fix itself" and thus cannot be left to the task. It is a job for "WE THE PEOPLE".

  • GlobalPress "Everywhere you turn there is another citizen being grossly violated, beaten or attacked by police and "officials" or institutions there-of."

You sound like a drama queen that is paranoid and delusional.

  • GlobalPress "A criminal, corrupt, treasonous government cannot be trusted to "fix itself" and thus cannot be left to the task. It is a job for "WE THE PEOPLE"."

That's why there should be term limits, to try to purge out the corruption. I'm afraid your response would be overly drastic.

  • glenn got scred at the end.. disolving govt.. ekk.. those is fightin words.. we needs to fight fur our rats.

  • America runs a 20th century empire that is operated differently from other previous empires. Countries in the American sphere of influence have their own governments and developed countries are quite independent but America does intervene when its interests are threatened like in Greece, Guatamala, Iran, Indonesia, Honduras, Chile.

  • flexorder: For the most part the US government does not fit the definition of an empire. I think using the word empire is overly dramatic. The US government is more of a federation.

  • I agree with Beck, it was only a matter of time with the political climate since 9/11 that secessionist movements would begin. However under the Patriot Act anyone can be labeled a terrorist and denied their Constitutional rights. Even State Governors can be removed....

I hate to see this as the solution to "resetting" our federal goverment, but our goverment today clearly isn't interested in protecting our civil liberites and is dominated by lobbyists and special interest groups.

  • I dislike the idea secessions or revolution at this time, but the politics are outrageous, we need to get back to basics, if things keep sliding down the slope it will hopeful cause reform from within government if not the people or states might revolt with more radical means.

  • I don't think it is just as simple as protection our rights, the problem is many things are upside-down because we are so politically correct. Our security and safety should come first. Political correctness should be way down the list. We need to really protect our borders, bring back morals fight to win and stop being so politically correct. People need to be less selfish and self-serving.

  • Oh I definately agree we need to go back to basics (or the moral center as Beck put it). The problem is it appears our entire federal goverment has been hijacked and even questioning can get you labeled anti-American or unpatriotic.

If we want to be safer we should end all occupations and foreign bases and use that money and manpower to rebuilding country and education.

  • Kapan60: So you think the world would be a safer place if we removed all our bases? I suggest you take a look of a night view satellite picture of North and South Korea and compare how prosperous North Korea is versus South Korea. When WMD fly in the Middle East and the oil fields are threatened, how would we project our power there effectively to stop the fighting without decimating everything?

  • Kapan60 "even questioning can get you labeled anti-American or unpatriotic"

You sound like a drama queen. Most questions can be asked freely. However there are some questions you can expect or at least should get a raised eyebrow from. And if you start asking sensitive questions of a national security issue don't expect to get answers, it's when you throw a temper tantrum demanding secret documents that you get labeled anti-American and unpatriotic.

  • League of the South has been around since the early 1990s. Mike Hill was one of my history professors here at the University of Alabama.

f*ck Corporate America, long live FREEDOM!

  • distortedfanatic: You sound like a young kid fresh out of liberal college Kool-Aid brainwashing. A mixture of socialist, communist, but you probably mince words by calling yourself a Democrat or progressive.

  • distortedfanatic: If you hate corporate America, why don't you move to a country that doesn't have hardly any corporations. I would love to see you go to a third world Socialist or communist country or dictatorship. Let's see how happy you would be there.

  • Since America is now reliant on resources outside its borders, it is an empire. This empire is being run by a sham democracy where politicians operate in two separate modes "the empire mode" and "the democracy mode".

  • I think it would be saner to claim the US is not an empire; it is a subject because it is so deep in dept. ;)

Your claim the US is an empire is a lie, The US is trying to let countries run the selves and Afghanistan is pretty much doing so. Iraq would be a lot farther along if the terrorist didn't keep disrupting the government and each sect keep using terrorism to vie for power. We would love to leave, if they would just stop fighting and being threatening.

  • We have 152 active military bases in other countries around the world all located near major power sources. We don't have any borders to defend in those countries. Why do we have them?

The CIA has been involved in overthrowing or political unrest in 72 countries since it's inception in the 1950s. Many of those 72 countries involved overthrowing democratic goverments. Why are we doing this?

  • Because if we don't do it someone with a more sinister agenda probably will in a matter of time. Study history; remember Hitler, Tojo, ECT... Then you will find out what it really feels like to live under an empire. Some Islamic groups have already stated they want the world to be under Islamic domination.

  • We've been using this same policies for the last 50+ years and 9/11 was a consequence of that action. If we payed more attention to ourselves and our nation instead of acting as the world police we'd be a stronger country.

  • Kapan60: Bolivia has its own problems, and hardly what I would call world police. It's people like you that expect the US to be world police. ;)

  • As far as overthrowing governments using subversion coups I think that is mostly or entirely in the past, it has a way of biting us in the rear and have a destabilizing effect. I think if we take action I think it will be other means.

  • We're still trying the same tactics in Iran.

  • Kapan60 " We're still trying the same tactics in Iran."

Well you'd should be like the US and stop trying those tactics. The US has reduced those types of tactics. Such as assassinations of government and diplomatic leaders are pretty much taboo/illegal. Your country should also adopt such rules/laws.

  • The word is Pluralism. Slow and strong progression since the late 80's.

  • That would be a better word but still what you said is vague to me and can be taken many ways. In some contexts it could be true in other contexts it is false.
