@BenjaminWirtz I can provide an answer, did you see the bikes he was riding with and look at the way he was riding around them, they probably had over 100 MPH over him and he was riding rings around them, it just goes to show age and experience are not everything. :)
RIP little man. I can't wait for my little boy to throw a leg over his first bike. I can only hope that my little guy has the passion for bikes the way Peter did. Awesome parents for letting their son live his dream. There should be more supporting parents like you. If you are not living, you are just existing.
wish people would keep their disrespectful comments to themselves, his parents were giving him a chance to really do something with his life that he loved, hes had more excitement in his life than all you haters have had even if you lived for 200 years. R.I.P Peter
Ah man... I wish i had your guts in that age. Straddling a bike and going like a madman. No wonder you and Edwards were friends. :) I'm wishing all related to Peter the best. He left something honoarble behind. Hopefully more young will inherite his courage.
I don't like mayo either champ. Peter you were a superstar in the making and the racetrack is where you were meant to be; this footage says it all and was a pleasure to watch. May the parents and family find the strength to continue with their lives after losing this wonderful boy.
If you can't just comment on the video without being political all comments will get turned off and that would just be disrespectful. He was an amazing athlete and this footage is great. Thanks for keeping this posted!!!
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the hornof my salvation, my stronghold
are you kidding me? any parent wants to see their kid reach their dreams so they will do whatever it is to help make it a reality. obviously the kid wanted to be a top pro rider, whether it's WSBK, GP or the US circuit. without kids starting at a young age, think about all sports - basketball, football, swimming, there would be nothing. i admire peter's abilities and his determination for the sport. sorry to see you go peter, glad you were living your dream! RIP
So you people that are ANTI-RACING for young riders think that racers such as Valentino Rossi, Ben Spies, Mat Mladin, The Hayden brothers, Max Biaggi, Jason DiSalvo, Josh Hayes, Elena Myers, Jake Gagne, Colin Edwards, Marco Simoncelli, Jorge Lorezno, Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner, Andrea Dovizioso, Leon Haslam, the entire Moto2 and 125 racing paddock shouldn't have ever raced because they were too young??!! Give me a f**king break! These racers wouldn't be at the top racing series in the world if
@gtrpimp76 not for their early training like Mr. Peter Lenz. Hell, some of these riders have been riding at ages YOUNGER THAN Peter! And even still, some of these riders that I've mentioned above have won multiple championships (Rossi, Edwards, Spies, Mladin) because of the early training/racing. Most of those names I've listed have or are in the process of winning a championship this season. So do some damn research before some of you start spewing off your armchair politics at us and telling
@gtrpimp76 us how our sport should be run. Peter's accident was an unfortunate, but rare occurence that does happen on the racetrack. The sport is not without risks and all of the competitors, parents, families, friends, and sanctioning bodies are well aware of it. In fact, most stickball sports are without risks either! Just look at peewee football!! Are you gonna tell those kids to stop playing and blame all of the parents because their sport is too dangerous as well? Peter was also well
@gtrpimp76 trained by Keith Code and his staff of California Superbike School, who themselves trained some of those racers I've mentioned earlier. If they felt Peter Lenz was not capable of racing at his age, Im pretty sure they would've never continued training him!!
most teens that ride in the street cant ride like this . anyone can tell this kid spent a lot of time learing not only ride but to control this bike . rip
Unfortunate things happen in life.....there has been more child deaths in a SCHOOL CLASSROOM than in racing. Peter obviously LOVED what he did, watch his interviews, the boy says it. Blame the parents? YOU PEOPLE are CRAZY!! They have just lost the most important thing to them. That is what is wrong with stuff today...everyone is SCARED to take any risk to ENJOY LIFE or what they LOVE in LIFE. RIP PETER LENZ. You will inspire young rides for years to come. Enjoy that great ride in the sky!
all of those riders should be honored to have been passed by a kid with such talent. peter you will always be remembered and now a legend in many minds RIP
What amazing talent he had. Good job to mom and dad for letting their child LIVE life to the fullest and to chase his dreams. RIP Peter. I know you would have been a world champion.
I'm sorry but i think you should be more respectful, his parents did a great job supporting Peter in what he loved, he proved that he was able to overcome great challenges, many of us admire people like him and find them inspirational. He was a little man and definitely a rising star, not just a boy... Life is a challenge and some people actually love to live it but accidents happen.
Like his father said he passed doing what he loved, not to many can say that. Oh and if you do believe in reincarnation he'll be back as the next Rainey maybe. Peace to the family an friends.
May he rest in peace. This video shows what an amazing rider he was, THREE YEARS AGO. Flicking off adults on heavier equipment like playground pretenders. This kid was the Real Deal. Ours is a dangerous sport, peeps. Peace and Blessings.
I was standing at the start finish line today at Indy. For no reason I picked the tiny kid on the 45 bike to win. I figured he slipped on the hot slick track when he didn't arrive to start. I figured the bike was broke. This was shocking to learn. Count me a fan of 45! RIP.
@primordialcontext wow wtf is wrong with you? blame the parents? At least the kid had a hobby and a talent unlike most of the kids in the world today who stay home all weekend and play video games. Your probably the type of person who wont let their kids play baseball or football in fear of ur precious child getting hurt. Thats why kids today grow up to be big pussies. This kid was amazing for his age and his parents should be commended for raising the athlete that he was! Asshole!
rode with peter at thunderhill on febuary 18th. dirrrrrrrrrrrty little passer..lol awesome rider. I saw this video long before I shared the track with him. When I saw his name on the check in sheet that morning I knew I was in for a big surprise. We rode A group but they were letting him in all the groups.
Damn this kid is bad to the bone. Man he is a natural. Im 42 and he's got more balls than I do. By the way, this is my wifes screen name. So yes I'm a dude not a chick. Back to the kid, keep it going little man you got alot of heart. Can't wait to see you in the future. BE SAFE........
@pwalk123 They do that to keep it safe since his bike tops out at 90mph. We all know if he had a 600 or even a 1000, its gonna be one sad sad day for all the other riders. Great riding Peter! I can already see you in a GP and i wish you best of luck. It's a bummer i started racing so late in life : (

Oh my god! Absolutely awesome. Nobody on track can touch him, and he's on a 125? Ridiculous! Just shows you how absurd it is all these guys on 1000's. Yea.

Great Video! I actually saw you at The Streets of Willow Springs on 3-28-09. I was doing Keith Code lvl 1 w/ my 08 R6and to say the least i was extremely impressed!!!
That is correct, Peter currently receives strictly product support, he does not receive any cash which is why he needs the help of 22 companies to try and defer the overall cost of his racing which product support doesn't help with (gas, entry fees, airfare, hotels).
@minigpx kid is amazing...he reminds me of nicky hayden because they were both extremely talented at a young age. This makes me wanna get on my bike and step my game up lol
He isnt scared of crashing...which is a huge bonus for someone so young...when i was 10...the first time i wrecked my bike, i stayed off of it for three weeks lol
that was a pleasure to watch .looked like he was having a ball. certainly more than he will have once all the corporate bullshit that comes with the stardom he is bound to acheive starts .
This kid jus like me =D! ive been riding since i was 5 but my parents dint have the nerve to take me to a track so i juss did watever im 16 now with a gixxr 600 k8 so i do my own thing nd if i have money to go to the track ill kneedrag thier=]
You don't like mayo Peter? Haha....Peter, you are a joy to watch, you have a very bright career ahead of you and I look forward to watching you race soon!

NO financial support? RLY?
mtk1210 2 years ago
That is correct, Peter currently receives strictly product support, he does not receive any cash which is why he needs the help of 22 companies to try and defer the overall cost of his racing which product support doesn't help with (gas, entry fees, airfare, hotels).

@minigpx kid is amazing...he reminds me of nicky hayden because they were both extremely talented at a young age. This makes me wanna get on my bike and step my game up lol
He isnt scared of crashing...which is a huge bonus for someone so young...when i was 10...the first time i wrecked my bike, i stayed off of it for three weeks lol

Whats with all the church goers on the other bikes? Is this the first time on a bike ever for all those other riders?
This vid wasnt produced by Ken Block was it?
Kid has some genuine talent, but get rid of the squids on the track .. that would make him look much better.
YMMV

Video produced by Peter's dad, Michael. Video footage from the Superbike School camera bike.
