This movie, based on the standards of the first one, as the first one was a political, action type of movie, while the second movie, was a horror movie.

Based on the standards of a Horror movie, it wasn't that bad. It was actually rather good. It had a good, claustrophobic feeling that was dark, gritty, and had good effects for a small budget.

While the third one brought back the politics, and religion, but failed on script, acting, and plot direction. But Rico was back so....

@farcrysargent It was a piece of shit to Starship Trooper fans. Accommodating with a low budget and weapons that just looked like plastic toys, it made it seem really really bad.

However if the movie was not called Starship Troopers.... it may have been better.

It wasn't a horrible movie like the third one. The story and acting weren't that bad, it's just.... not what we were expecting from Starship Troopers.

Personally, I thought it was terrible, they should have continued it on from the 1999 movie, with the same characters. It's extremely difficult to introduce and entire cast of new characters in a sequel, and pull it off well.

st 2 sucked it destroyed st1. st 3 saved it. but also EvilDeadFan1990 your wrong about the financial money it had more money then the first but the directer was different and they tried to add more color which fucked up the movie

Man this movie sucked Donkey Balls!I rented it the day it came out,watched the movie and got sick to my stomach in how this series went down the toilet! I took it back to the video store the same day!

it was alrite. it had an awesome idea regarding those mind controll bugs especialy considering how u got to hear from the perspective of the bugs when they spoke which was cool. but best of all tht blonde chick was f***ing HAWT nude!!!!!

Starship troopers 2 was definetly the low point of the series but it was defintetly not as bad as critics said. One thing no one ever mentiond about it is the special effects. the bugs in this movie look as good as the bugs in the first movie even tough the first movie had a budget of 98 million dollers more than the second.

Everyone always says the first is better...well that's because the first of a series is always original. If they just did another one too similar to the first one people would complain that it was just the same thing again...

they made this movie different because i guess they are looking into the drama of what the troopers go threw. that is my opinion. i really liked this movie.

Go watch Roughnecks Starship Troopers Chronicles. That's 'technically' the way how Starship Troopers is meant to be. Starship Troopers 1 is awesome because of some adaptations and significant changes they made from the novel, so give a try reading the novel if you can. ST2 is bad, period.
