  • Damn, these ppl and their negativity. qualitys good enough. gets your point across. didnt prep em quite right this, or the first time but it clearly says in the title "the easy way". did you sand the rim (yes we "yanks" call them rims) before you painted it the first time. if not was there a clear coating on the rim that you painted over? you would probably have a better result if you took a wire wheel to em and get em bare to the metal, then fine grit paper, prime, then paint your layers.

  • Shrapnel????? really????? Wow!!!!!

  • your voice bothers me. and yes you need to use a large grit sandpaper... follow it up with a fine grit sandpaper.... thats the point of sanding it is to put scratches on the metal so the paint sticks. thats what layers and patience is for.

  • stupid yank......they are wheels the "rims" are the edge of the wheels.

let the air out of the tyre before masking and use a proper spray gun not shity spray cars

  • wow i half ass SOME things on my car but seriously wtf!? an air compressor aint blowin old paint off unless u have a sandblaster or soda blaster on it. + u could at least clear coat them and paint ur brake calipers and drums black NOT red. Nice cavilair you jerry atrick fuck

  • umm whats it called ? its called PAINT!

  • u gettin hi of the spray can fumes 5:20

  • can dog help me in painting?

  • Just buy engine paint these rims are a turd you can polish it but it's still a turd

  • What spray paint did you use?

  • Iv just watched more to find out...

You did NOT use primer = retard

you are going to paint over existing paint thats flaking = retard

You did NOT even scour the metal so the paint had something to stick to....

You should NOT have a car, when you clearly have no idea what your doing

  • You can blow the paint off with an air compressor?

are you fucking serious? What kind of cheap ass paint do you use!

"you could paint over it but it wont turn out great"

well yours turned out shit as it is, if you do it properly it should never come off!

    Ass

  • ha ha big ball on that dog......

  • black wheels look so cheap

  • Dumb fuck what a fag if your going to do some thing do it right or do it again in a year or two mess up your rims scratch the piss out of them that sounds like a good idea.....i....just...use....um...um....sand....paper....around the house.....and um....works......grate i could spend all day but i don't want to do that and he says to all hatter's i do stuff to my car to keep my self busy and not sit on my ass well then fucking do the job right and you will keep your self busy you dumb ass....

  • Dumb fuck

  • To all the haters haha, i do things to my car so i can improve what i got, not stick with something normal or bland. i also do this so i can keep my self busy and not sit on my ass all day.

  • What a fag. Nice drum brakes NOOB. Haha yea let's just paint those hideous things so the stand out and let everyone know ho GAY my car is

  • Who would go throught that much trouble for cheap motegi rims on a cavalier????? I know I know that guy!!!!

  • No wonder it didn't work out the first time. Duplicolor sucks.

  • BY THE WAY SICK VID MAN.... CX

  • I GOT A ? HOW WOULD YOU GO ABOUT HAVING TO PAINT THE HOLE CAR?? CUZZ IM KINDA TRYING TO GET A BLACK PIANT JOB ON IT BUT IF I COULD DO IT MYSELF MIGHT AS WELL.....JUST ASKING......

  • @yeaimsingle0113 just go to a cheap paint place if your going to paint the whole car. it will cost the more to do it your self, you would need a compressor, paint gun, the right paint, a shit load of tape. pluss you need to prep it what takes a long ass time. i would prep it your self then get it painted at a shop it will save you money that way.

  • @maxdavis360 : ok thanks....i will....but one more ?...if i do get it preped, sanded down to bare metal, and i fix all the bumps and scraps would i be able to paint the car with the same product (DUPLI-COLOR)you used on the rim? and have the same result?......cuz i found the BONDO BODY FILL to fix the bumps and scrapes, and now all i got to do is sand down the paint, but what i want to know is if the same paint you used on the rims will have the same effect on the aluminum body of the car....

  • sucky video quiality and orginization but overall good turn out plus your lacking on likes so yea

  • @chicoice321 put this up for a stupid class so not much effort went into this, thx for the comment tho

  • did you use clear fter you painted them?

  • Good job. I dont see your rotors painted. I see the rear brake drums painted red. You could paint the center hub of the Disc brake Rotor to hide that nasty rust.

Looks nice black with the red. Thanks for posting the video.

  • Oh for fucks sake you painted your rotors

  • @Shwanzig thats a no

  • @maxdavis360

@ 8:24 that's what it looks like, unless they make rotors in certain colors now. How long has your paint lasted? does it still look new?

  • @Shwanzig the paint still looks the same, no chipping

  • @Shwanzig Those are drum brakes you dumfuck

  • @Shwanzig lol i do belive those are drums dont look like rotors to me

  • @Shwanzig theyre actually the brake drums.... equivalent to painting calipers

  • @Shwanzig AHAHAHA!

  • @Shwanzig He painted the drum brakes.....

  • Why don't you just plastidip the parts that aren't black? Cheap and easy solution, can't tell unless you look close.

  • @mahadragon people look close cuz i do it for my friends and they look for anything that is not perfect lol

  • @mahadragon people look close cuz i do it for my friends and they look for anything that is not perfect lol

  • I'd keep it black on the "sticks" but on the actual wheel and all around it i'd paint it chrome! try it out bro! It will look meaaaaaaan!

  • it chipped because you didn't prep it. Prepping makes or breaks the project. You need to sand, prime, paint, paint, paint, gloss, gloss, wax. That's the steps. You did Paint, dry, put back on.

  • ohh ok the box, i would scrap it and get a new one. you can get one for like 50 bucks on craigs or online. cant belive the store put fucking dynamat in the box that is stupid could of used that for your trunk or something

  • hey man I am about to paint the stock rims on my 06 murano on saturday with a friend who has done it before but he painted his matte black. So you used all duplicolor paints? which type did you use for that glossy look and is it hard to keep them looking good or do you have to keep repainting them? And should I definitely let iot dry overnight? I want my wheels to look like yours

  • @tylerpc21 you can get the matte black and after all your layers are dry you can spy on some clear coat for about 2 to 3 layers of clear (duplicolor has that) or you can get the gloss paint from duplicolor. if you prep your rims right the paint will stay for a very long time, the only thing i will say is dont use a presure washer on your rims allways hand wash them and hand dry them. i would let them dry overnight for best results long term. i got flat black then afer they dry, 3 coats of clear

  • @maxdavis360 thanks alot man, Ive always wanted black rims since they became popular but Ive been putting off painting my rims because its kind of intimidating but I figure if I do enough research I won't mess it up. So if i am understanding correctly you can either use flat with a clear coat or the glossy paint to begin with but each gives you the glossy look? and you only need one can of clear coat if you do the flat option?

  • @tylerpc21 both of them will give you the glossy look but the clear coat will give you more of an smooth and glossy look and feel, just dont spray too much on one spot because it will drip and that sucks!!!!!! i used one can but i know how much to put on each rim so you can get two just to be sure but i used one.

  • @maxdavis360 Well I will just buy all sorts of stuff and then return what I dont use. I have an electric sander at home would it be a bad idea to use it? Also what do you know about subs? I have two rockford 12 inch p3s in a rockford made p2 box and its kind of rattly. I had a shop put dynamat in the inside vents since they used to rattle but I think I just need a new box altogether

  • @tylerpc21 i would use it. what do you mean by rattly? your car or what?

  • @maxdavis360 ohh ok the box, i would scrap it and get a new one. you can get one for like 50 bucks on craigs or online. cant belive the store put fucking dynamat in the box that is stupid could of used that for your trunk or something

  • nice max! looks good

  • @Sid3waysGS thanks man, we should do something sometime

  • Nice tutorial! If you have access to a sand blaster that would be the best way to remove/sand the rims... Nice tutorial though!

  • First view good job
