For one I play with all triggers on y drums and triggers are for external artificial

drum sounds.Ran through a Dm5 or any drum module.They have notng to do with how you play just the sound of the dums.it is just a pulse switch modulated vibration that the trigger clamp pad wires pick up that are attached to your toms snare or bass drums or via axis pedals.There is no cheating.But I will tell you thatif you are not a seasonal rummer you will sound like shit cause whatever you hit you hear.

It depends on WHAT notes are played at 380bpm - like quarter notes and 8ths are doable - but not 16ths. I can play whole notes at 1200 BPM - seriously, the tempo is only half the story.

For example - try playing 64ths @120 bpm - lol

Even though the APX's are made with the cheaper B8 alloy, they sound a lot better than I ever expected. Very loud, full, and Shimmery. But Kollias could make a set of planet Z's sound good so who knows.

I take back what I said about the APX. When you play them in person you can really hear the cheaper b8 cymbal sound. They definitely cut through with their high end shimmer but there is no richness in body like the b20 cast cymbals. And now you know anyone who was curious:-)

Yeah man... i mean, theyre the first line of cymbals made to be heard over electric guitar. The whole 8% tin content in the B8's, APX and anything else bronze is pretty much inspired by the 2002's CuSn8 bronze formula. Before that everything was always B20.

Also, the first series of 2002's came out in the beginning of the 60's... so the sound itself has become a classic and the line has had the time to expand into specialty cymbals... and theyre made by obsessive swiss cymbalsmiths.

Triggers give the bass drums a more definite sound-you can hear strokes better at higher speed, where it would else sound more like just a mess. And that makes triggers sound faster at the same speed.

Personally, I don't use triggers, but tune my bass drum to get a very loud attack. I have to give up a lot of rebound, but spring tension can compensate that.

The Sabian APX are great cymbals. I recently got one, and it is very loud and sharp. They are not at a bad price either. Great cymbal period. I would def. recommend it for any genre of drums.

the technique isnt called the gravity blast, the technique may be called the one handed roll, but its actually a part of the gravity blast.....just add 16th on the kicks and some cymbal stuff, and you have a gravity blast ;)
