It is true, you should teach your son ASL (american sign language) as it is the natural language of the deaf.
Also from what I hear form scholarly journals, ASL has many positive aspects with learning and my opinion is ASL fun! :)

but it's very important to teach him also ASL , in spite of the fact that's he is able to hear now, but people with CI are still and will ever be deaf!
