I don't understand why folks get so upset that they don't put some songs on a studio album...there is a great version of this on The Fenway Live trax..and i think "Sugar Will" and 'Idea of You" are on more than one live trax...That 's good enough for me...but regardless ..thanks for posting ..i like this version too!

Gotta say I love what Rashawn brings to the table. Dave's voice problems are a result of the crazy touring schedule and smoking, not because they added a trumpet.

The reason why his voice is more hoarse now is because he's getting older. Listen to the Stand Up album, that's where it is really obvious, especially compared to the album they released prior to stand up, Busted Stuff.

Please tell me they plan on ditching that trumpet player. Around the time he started playing with them, Dave's been losing his voice at every show. Too many instruments to sing over in my opinion. Anyone agree?

I just went to see them the weekend before last in Dallas, Dave sang fine. I see no problem with keeping Rashawn to play with the band.

Listen to every live song you can that came out before the last album. Then watch all the newer stuff with Rashawn. Dave's singing is not as good (which is still better than most other garbage out there, but...) he just always sounds borderline-hoarse. Also notice at 5:40 to 6:20 or so on this vid where Dave is singing and the trumpet is screaming over top of him...no doubt he has to get louder than he "should" in my opinion. Maybe they should turn his mic up.

I agree with you... I think maybe this is why Idea of You doesn't always sound to good. Maybe Rashawn could play in only a few songs, so they sound better. Like i said dave seems to struggle in Idea of You.

jesus christ, have any of you thought that maybe its because he's sick sometimes on tour, or he chooses to scream more now on ABI and songs like that, and that he's getting a little fucking old? he just needed rest for his voice after touring for so damn long. i saw him play at IU for Obama after a break from touring and he sounded phenomenal vocally (granted there were no other instruments barring tim, but he was still belting out like usual).
