I loved part 1 because it was really scary and I loved part 2 because it was more of an action movie but I hated 3 and 4 they both sucked especially part 4

Alien3 was a good movie. Both the theatrical and the directors cut. THERE I SAID IT! That being said the first two were better.

Here's how I always viewed this series:

Alien=Horror film (Birth)

Aliens=Action film (Life)

Alien³=Dramatic film (Death)

Alien: Resurrection=Action film (Rebirth)

All of these films were excellent, Resurrection isn't as good as the first three but still very enjoyable. The special editions of the first three make an outstanding trilogy though, making the end of A³ feel so powerful! Awesome preview too!

Alien is more of a horror movie and aliens is more of a war movie they are both good but i personally pefer aliens since it has more action

this might sound odd but my favorite of the series is alien 3 the reason i dont like aliens is because the whole movie is about protecting the kid rather then killing the xenomorphs

@kallemick i wouldnt really say it was about protecting the kid, it was about main survival of the group. If ripley didnt go to face her fears then Aliens wouldnt of happened. and out of the entire Aliens series, id say Aliens has the best marine vs alien moment going. Resurrection was the worst because the french director wanted to keep it going, yet the plotline was too suspectable and was a large let down.

@Michael55443 I know Alien3 sucked ass, but as a fellow Alien fan, I bought Alien Anthology Blu-ray, and it had Alien3(Restored Workprint Version)2003, and I loved it. A different movie with many different changes and a lot longer, and I think what Fincher really wanted to release. I highly suggest checking this out, and let me know if you like it.
