@crazydogfight umm no it isnt, it owns a swedish defence company, but its british. its a company based in london, created by the merging of british defence companies. it is certainly NOT swedish.
is this to replace the scimitar? on wikipedia it says the scimitar is to be replaced by 600 new tanks.. im guessing this is it? and HOW MUCH BETTER IS THIS? pls reply thankssssssssss
@ScottishCaledonian So they can send it down to the middle east to invade all of the holy cities, rape the women, kill the men, and steal their treasures? Maybe try something that won't resonate poorly with the people of the only place anyone's at war with.
@Mariamaja74 uh no google it BAE is a British owned defence company with contracts all over the world it employs non British workers abroad but so do all the other big defence companies like Lockhead Boeing and Thales
@onlypeaceindeath if you are soldier - no, sir. in APC we can survive after high-pressior hit, after poisoning air and after first radiation impact, but the tiny electrical stuff the APC has just burning out cose of EMP. so how will you fight in this case? in blind mode?
@CapKorzeniowski There are older versions off cv90 to. Like the dutch and danish army they have the new ones. But Sweden, Norway, Finland use the older version i think only Sweden has the new version to.
@Elitepoosniff you what? BAE is british. it is international too. so swedish stuff may be made in sweden by sedish people, but the company is still a british company.
@TheRebelEye Your an idiot, its not based in the US, its based 40 miles away from me in England, it has contracts in the US, but is not a QH or based in the US.
@Elitepoosniff Well it seems at least one of us took to this respectfully. I'm not saying that it's completely from Ohio. I'm just saying that there is one in Ohio. And personally I don't think it's completely from England either.
@TheRebelEye Its HQ, main base of operations to the world is in England, there are bases where bits are made all over the world, but its a British Defence company based in England.
@TheRebelEye Just Google it. BAE Is a merger of British defence companies, headquartered in London and with defence contracts all over the world - mainly Britain, Australia and the US.
I did service as commander on the CV90 IFV back in yr 2000-2002. Great fire support from the 40mm auto cannon. Dont know the exact rate of fire but the standard ammo is APFSDS, frags and frags with tungsten pellets with proximity mode for choppers and such targets.. The backdoor works fine for troops getting in and out fast. The newer version of the CV90 (C) currently in Afghanistan (Swedish ISAF) have the updated 3P ammo, the gunner programs before firing, it has like 6-8 different modes.
@luckyday465768 Exactly what part of the CV90 platform do you consider being copied from the M1A1? The CV90 is a multi platform solution ranging from IFVs to mortar, anti air and light tanks in the CV90120 configuration, not a main battle tank like the Abrams.
what is the rate of fire fore the 40mm casless auto cannon? seems lower than the usal 200rpm the bushmasters have? isnt this a bit bad although the cannon fires bigger rounds. Im thinking for supression of enemy infantrey. The bushmasters also have airburst inn 30 and 35mm if im not wrong.
Lol BAE is now swedish ,,,,

British shit is good shite. US should buy more of it....but prob wont happen. Gotta keep feeding the well larded beast at Lockheed.
newmanfrigan 4 months ago
Nevermind the APC, tommy needs to get his kit upgraded first, british soldier equipment's shite and horribly outdated at the moment.
The bundeswehr...now there's a modern army for ya. All they're missing are balaclavas.

@Spjungen
What kit do you have in mind that needs to be updated?
HauptmannRob 4 months ago
@Spjungen Are you completely ignorant to British army equipment? Especially compared to other European armies.
At the moment, the British army is the second best equipped army in Europe down to the individual man/woman.
Please, do not listen to media reports about troops kit, go see for yourself at military shows. Read about it or join (If you was from here)

How exactly it's superior to french or german ones ?
I'd say that superiority of British Armed Forces comes from uninterrupted tradition of training, up to date combat experience

So is this going to replace the Warrior?
From the look of it, it's very agile, quick and seemingly has the ability to put down a lot of accurate firepower. Like a mini challenger :D

people really need to stop building tanks, not great for dealing with fighting in areas with civilian populations, will just get blown up by an EFP.
