Homelessness is truly one of the darkest, depressing and dehumanizing subject matters. Although I've never been partial to Xasthur, I appreciate that Malefic has the integrity to touch upon such an issue.

@BloatedSubhumans expanding on your comment, of which I agree. I think it's a rather luxurious attitude to attribute "laziness" as the cause of homelessness. It's estimated that around 40% of homeless people suffer from a serious mental affliction such as schizophrenia- the majority of whom are also healthy, strong men who are capable of working. I believe this to be an illustration of the cruelty of human civilization where people who are truly suffering are dismissed as "societal throwaways"
