scorpions with big pincers like that usually aren't the very toxic ones as you can tell their main defence/offence is their pincers. unlike the little clawed ones. they will always use their tail (to a certain degree ofcourse lol)
@Cabal2600 first of all scorpions all ways have horrible vision dayand night they use sensitive hairs all over their bodies and we have known why they have glown for years they have a natural fluresence in their exoskeleton so dont try to act smart when ur not in all actuality
I hate scorpions :( I felt one on my foot when i was sleeping once, in total darkness and I couldnt reach a light... I tried to hit it off with my hand but I missed and I felt it strat to walk faster all over my foot. Finally I bent my knee a bit and FLUNG IT AS HARD AS I COULD away from me and jumped up and turned on a light (room is so messy that it easily was hidden when I looked)
emperor scorpions are not very aggressive . hes probably just aggitated and feeling threatened by your size and how much your messing with him. scorpions are ancient. since dinosaur time. they really dont have alot of energy to keep up a long drawn out fight thats why they have stingers. they will use them if they cant avoid conflict.
@cheyycatastrophe Scorpions are not evil by themselves, almost no animal is. They just attack when they're threathened. Still I wouldn't like having 1 or 2 near me =/.
wow! its so awesome! asian forest scorpion! theyre pretty docile make good pets. they get huge! i have 3 babies growing up .. theyre pretty curious about stuff going on around them in my room
it`s a video worth watching except for the scorpion being messed with and not being filmed in peace.I was hoping I for once would see a video where the being`s gets filmed in peace.
omg that was the cutest thing in the world! Haha... why did you call it "nasty"? I like how it was just peacefully going about it's way and it felt pestered that this GIANT with a hard stick was blocking it's way. XD Hahahaha... terribly cute! I loved the video. I'm also glad that you took it away from the road... lest it may get squashed. :(
@outbreak201 scorpions and tarantulas are eaten regularly in thailand and other se asian countries. so are grasshoppers certain caterpillars and giant water bugs. i tried grasshoppers and giant water bugs fried with chilli sauce.taste like prawn.
I normally don't see these around my house in Nakhon Sawan until after it rains then there are hundreds of them out on the street and in my drive way. The little kids take their bikes and ride around crushing them like I did to June bugs when I was little.
The size of a scorpion has nothing to do with how poisonous it is (even though in the US, the most poisonous ones does happen to be a small one). Ratio of pincer and tail size is somewhat of an indicator though - a scorpion with a thin tail and fat pincers relies mostly on its pincers and is less likely to be dangerous. One with a fat tail and thinner pincers relies more on its sting/venom in hunting, and is more likely to have a potent venom.
hate to tell you m8 it not poisonous to humans it only like a bee sting,it is either longimanus or spinifer species, mite be wrong but sure cause got 9 different species of scorpions including the awsome swammidami which are huge!
@teza95 not really... I see that "rule" mentioned a lot but it's oversimplified. the most dangerous species (androctonus spp. and l.quin) are medium-sized. plenty of tiny species are harmless. it is true that there aren't any dangerous LARGE species, though.
a better rule would be that large, meaty claws = weak venom, but even that isn't really 100% true. There are only about a dozen species with any medical significance, easier to just memorize them
Damn bro. That scorpion looks highly dangerous and most breeds are poisonous. I am glad you took caution. Nice footage of wild life in thailand. I am digging these videos of yours. Good show!
if i throw a pokeball at it can i capture it or would i need to take its hp down a bit or tire it out before i can capture it coz i dont wanna use my master ball on it plz
it's a Heterometrus species, probably Spinifer or Swammerdami. not an emperor, they live in tropical areas of Africa (NOT the deserts, although Hollywood loves putting big black forest species in their desert movies for no reason)
anyway, it's harmless to humans. leave it alone, it's eating annoying insects and spiders.
btw there's no such thing as a non-venomous scorpion. every species is venomous but most are just painful and not a health risk.
@KAMUMAY i dont think that is a emperor, these are thiland cresent walkers im pretty sure, they are poiseonus but not deadly, the guys is just exageriating.
@2TRUgamer I feel the same way too. Maybe its the 'scorpio' in me that makes me feel kinda of a cool astrological bond with them :P or the fact that spiders can jump 0.o dont think ive ever seen or heard of a scorpion that can jump like some spiders can.
Looks like an emperor scorpion to me. They're not poisonous in the sense that a sting will kill you, it'll still hurt like hell. You can tell how dangerous a scorpion's venom is by the size of their front pincers, the more thin they are the more poisonous the scorpion is (true in MOST cases).
@gunspinner101 thin... you should have seen how do thin pincers look like. those are pretty massive. look at their size in comparison to the body. P.S. all scorpions are poisonus.
its actually not a dangerous scorpion. the larger the claws generally the less dangerous the scorpion. only species from the family buthidae have dangerous stings and most of those are confined to africa. it looks like a relative to the emperor scorpion or asian forest scorpion which both are completely harmless and their sting is like a bad wasp sting so i would thing this guy is the same.
