If I had a dollar for every pixel on this screen, I'd have $1.

On topic: I borrowed one for a short while after my main laptop died, Someone must've been high on something when they decided to stuff a desktop 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 inside a laptop. The thing ran hot even doing nothing. Still, the Radeon x600 allows it some worth in today's MMOs.
@Adrammalech7570 Yes I am very aware that the "quality" (for lack of a better word) of the video is crap.
You're right about the CPU though. The P4 is probably the hottest desktop CPU I've seen. It used to run hot even on my desktop with a decent cooler. How they though it would be OK in a laptop is beyond me. This was my first laptop so I was thinking "power" and "desktop replacement" when I bought it, not cooling, battery lifetime and portability. Served me well though.
my lap top makes a extreamly high sound like as if the fan inside was stuck and it is extreamly anoying i just want to get it and smach it god is happening right now! fuck! what can i do to fix this shit
@yosuanizardon Check the links I added to the video description. The first one is a PDF which details how to take apart the laptop. It is fully detailed and tells you exactly which parts need to be removed and in which order to reach specific parts.
Wow. The reason I looked this up was because my laptop was on my bed, while I was watching stuff. Then the fan made a loud whirring noise, then black stuff started coming out of the vent thing. and I literally freaked out thinking my laptop was gonna burn inside because of the overheating thing. :)) ahahaha.
I think the problem with the Hp Zd8000 is the design. The design and all the vents cause it to intake too much of the outside elements, such as Dust and Hair for example. If the laptop is kept in a nice carrying case the insides will stay free of dust and hair. Do not keep it out all the time where dust and hair can get in it and do not keep it around pets is what I told my sister, lol... ;-) Eager to get a reply from you to see if your problem is solved. I will let you know if mine is solved.
@carguyx50 The vertical lines problem seems to be very common. I've heard about it a lot online for the ZD8k. I don't know if it's a heat issue though. I think some people have experienced it quite early after buying one. Maybe it is a design flaw, but I've seen similar dust buildup on a lot of laptops, it's quite a common problem.
@carguyx50 There's just not enough room on a laptop to have proper sized vents but even desktop computers get clogged fans and massive dust buildup, so it's not really just about vent or case size. Pets don't help though, I guess you're right on that.
@carguyx50 When I cleaned the laptop back then (the video was posted 6 months ago, but I think I made it more than a year before that) it was like new after I started it and you could only hear fans working when it heated considerably. It only started becoming noisy again now, 1.5 years later, but nothing compared to what it was back then. So yeah, it did solve the overheating problem and the noise problem and it ran much smoother too.
Did cleaning out your laptop solve your overheating problem??? I have put the whole thing back together except the lid because Im waiting for the new lcd screen to come in. I know it was overheating because the fans and some of the vents were clogged with hair plus my sister is gonna buy a cooling pad to set it on to help keep it even cooler. Im thinking because the laptop got so hot it damaged the lcd causing the verticle lines in the lcd. It was a pain to take apart.
A few nights ago I took my sisters Hp Zd8000 apart because it was overheating and shutting off and she has verticle colored line across her screen. I pulled out a bunch of dust and cat hair out of hers it looked like what you pulled out of yours I think yours was about as bad as hers.. I replaced a fan and have ordered a new replacement lcd screen online for $135.00 with shipping. I concluded it was the lcd that needs to be replaced because when I hook it up to an external monitor it's fine!
@carguyx50 i got als those colored vertical strips on my HP lap top.My question-was that the LCD screen of your sisters laptop that caused the problem?

@yoramstein Yes my sisters HP was overheating and she continued to use it anyways running a regular fan behind it to try to keep it cool but it did not work and that is when she started seeing the lines in her LCD Screen so I think the lines were a result of the laptop getting overheated repeatedly I can say with certainty because it's been about 6 months since I cleaned out, repaired, and replaced her LCD and fan and it's still running great today.
Apple Iphone? Did you have it on 24/7, next to your bed (where you are a chain smoker? After how many months? Mine collapsed just outside the warranty period. Cost $90 for the authorized agent to clean.
"user-cleaning impossible", cos I'd have to pull everytthing apart, to get to the hidden, invisible dirt places. INBUILT OBSOLENCE!!
Now after Pavvy-2 (yes, two in two years), I've an Acer. My Toshiba laptop (5* years old) never experienced this design "FEATURE".
@tintipaul Sorry for the late reply. You can get a maintenance manual from HP's website that shows step by step how to remove each part to get to the vents. The ZD8k is a bitch to take apart because you need to remove monitor, top cover and motherboard to get to the vents. There are laptops with simpler design, e.g., single fan/cooler right under the keyboard, but this one is hell.
cleaned out my dad's zd8000 with a air compressor!! runs much cooler, stopped slowing down and lagging. i do it monthly for him now
