This version of D.D. 2 kicks ass, and is better than the N.E.S. version. I actually have the arcade machine to this game, which I use as my Jamma cabinet, and I also have the Turbo Duo version of D.D. 2 which rules. I'll never forget when my dad, and I, played this game in Seaside Heights N.J., put 40 quarters into it, and still didn't beat it! Those were definitely the days, to say the least!
I remember as a kid in a arcade watching teenager's drop dollars upon dollars on this game. It was so much more difficult than the first arcade game. I remember one kid spent a dollar and got his ass rocked like he just got bitched slapped by Bruce Lee walking away pissed off. Hilarious.
can anybody please put the link where to download this game,i really mis this game always remember me my childhood...please guyz i have searched all internet but never found any link....please
That's not Jeff; that's the William of the Williams Brothers, not Willy the Boss of the Team. William was the Very First Opponent the Punk whom gut Punched Marian on Mission One on the First Double Dragon Arcade Game.
Probably will because when they run out of new product they must find something to sell so they go vintage. Selling It would be a smart thing to do. The product was made like 15 years ago. Just port it. Sure you can just easily get it for free but plenty of people don't know this so they will pay to get it even though it has zero market value. If I were selling it I say it's a great idea to buy it. If you don't have a PC I guess you'll have to buy these games.
@PopcornCoolie These games actually do have market value, it's just not high enough for a company to waste advertising money on promoting a new release of an outdated product, among other expenses related to such a venture.
ie.: Development.
The real value is in owning an arcade cabinet. DD2's value I'm not sure of, but it should be pretty high. It is vintage '80s after all.
your a genius, who ever played that game. Its crazy how you figure out that scrima masters grow. You munch alot of quarters on him.I bet that guy alone was the reason why dd2 did not do that well in the arcade.
Yeah. I can just see that in a martial arts movie... the henchman flips around like a crazy man for awhile... hero easily dodges it all, then effortlessly elbows him off a cliff at the last minute.
or in the 89 version of batman.when the swordsman is doing all these kicks, fancy sword twirling and flips, then batman just kicks him once and knocks him out.XD
I wouldn't doubt it, considering the Helicopter theme is placed where Chin's theme would be heard in the nsf file of the NES version (the music is actually organized in the order they're heard in the arcade version, followed by the new tracks for that version). If that's the case, then that means the only original stage musics in the NES version are the Undersea Base theme, the evil clone theme and the final boss theme.
Rechecked the NSF. It actually plays the Mission 5 theme, which was the evil clone's theme in the arcade version. Chin's theme is the only track in the arcade version that was not translated into the NES. Oh well.
This was a really fun game in the arcades back in the late 80s. And I just can't seem to get enough of the action here. My only complaint however is just that the game play is riddled with slowdown. But I guess that's a minor flaw in old video games. Its still a good game though.
This game had the best sound effects out of every other double dragon game currently in existence.

Mission 2: "The Vengeful Demon Has Began to Move"
Mission 3: "Escape to the Forest"
Mission 4: "Enter to the Enemy's Base"
Doppelganger Theme: "Wicked God"
Ending Theme: "Sweet Memories"

@MachiavelliBlack You should see the japanese version of SMB 2. They might as well have called it SMB 1.25.
The U.S. SMB 2 was a great game. Mario wouldn't be who he is today without it.
It's influence is found in every subsequent Mario game, but it doesn't get the respect it deserves, because it was a different game in Japan. (DDP)

I wouldn't doubt it, considering the Helicopter theme is placed where Chin's theme would be heard in the nsf file of the NES version (the music is actually organized in the order they're heard in the arcade version, followed by the new tracks for that version). that's because this version is from an emulator, not the actual arcade game. this is the typical speed an emulated game will run at...
