what i meant to say was, there's no evidence really that those 3 brits indeed paid him? i mean, yeah you see them taking out their wallets and stuff, but the trishaw driver doesn't seem to receive the cash.
the driver has even given an interview, saying they didn't pay him. and i would definitely take his word(for he's clearly struggling to make ends meet by driving a trishaw, so he wouldn't really lie about money) over the 3 brits.

This is simply not true. We all know how difficult it can be finding a cab sometimes in Singapore. The lads found one and wanted to grab it. They didn't do this to avoid paying the trishaw driver. They paid him, as can be heard in the last few frames of this video, "What's up, sort out? Yeh, yeh. Thank you". For those experienced with British English, this clearly means that driver was being paid.
