  • One of the greatest Love Ballads of all time, hands down.

  • I always wondered who sang this beautiful song.... and now I know... beautiful....

  • My favorite song of all time. Everytime it comes on the radio, I turn it up as loud as I can and sing along. I do the same at home, drives the wife crazy how loud I play it.

  • He sounds awesome live. Too bad I can't say that about too many artists today.

  • @BELLBOOKANDCANDLE2, I agree the back up singers are awesome! By the way, love the movie of the same name. One of my favorites.

  • Love this song, remember it well. You are missed Al.

  • Back in the days when music, was meant to be called music...great legacy Mr Wilson...R.I.P.

  • Instantly transported back toVivos bar in Tenerife Soul in the Sun where everyone was in unison singing to this....absolutely awesome!!!...so many memories...right on Brothers and Sisters!...cant wait for our next Soultastic reunion in April Dave fro York formerly Burnley

  • I was reintroduced to this wonderful song last week on our oldies station! When I heard the into I just stated tearing up! How could I have forgotten about Al Wilson and this incredible song and left it out of my library? Thank God for oldies stations, and thank God for you, Al Wilson!

  • This may be the greatest pop song of all time,

  • I could listen to this song over and over!!! Music from that time was so real!! I always say i was born to late in life!!! oh well still love this music!!! The best is alls I can say about Al Wilson

  • What a classic: listen .. no auto-toner; or whatever it is they call it.

Al: show 'em and tell' em. < This is the way REAL music iz!

  • I was young and married only two years when I heard this song the first time . we were going shopping at the new Target and I commented to my wife at the time how Al sounded like Johnny Mathis when he had to hit the high notes . I have liked this song ever since that day

  • Caught it on the radio on the way home this evening...couldn't help to think about my sweet love! Simply beautiful song!

  • AND HOW ABOUT THOSE BACKUP SINGERS!! AWESOME HARMONIZING!!!

  • EMMMM EMMMM EMMMM THIS WAS AND IS PURE TALENT AND A WONDERFUL VOICE AND SONG THAT WILL BE PLAYED AND REMEMBERED FOREVER!

  • great song i listen to it still great love song

    \

  • Beautiful song, great voice!

  • @daveumpref, I agree with you. Where are the Al Green's of today? As for being an old fart, join the croward. Music has no age limit.

  • I know I'll be called an old fart trapped in the 70's but, It seems this type of soul and feeling was much more prevalent in the songs of this era. The music today is fine I suppose but it lacks this kind of depth and emotion. Are there any Al Wilsons or Al Greens or bill withers today???

  • I love how the shots of the orchestra are pure smiles. They're loving the moment and why not? They're playing a beautiful song with Al and that crowd.

  • Sexiest song of all time! Sing it too ,sing it too!

  • This songs kicks the ass out of songs of today.

Show and Tell is a great song to listen to at the end of a stressful, bad day.

    Peace.

  • R.I.P. in Al, thanks for the great music.

  • Awesome!

  • Ignore my wierd username. But anyways I'm in my teen years and this beats about 99% of the new crap thats on today. This actually has meaning and good beats to it not like the new songs with people cussing their brains off, sceaming, or thatstpid repetitive crap.Great song great song.

  • FANTASTIC SONG!

    O-YELL!!

  • It's too bad that my generation doesn't have R&B singers of this calibre; I guess this is a drawback of HIP-HOP. Oh well! Blame The music industry executives for that. Nice job, Mr. Wilson.

  • Speak about one hell of a sexy song, right ladies? LadyProwler100

  • mom , dad I love your era......

  • Outstanding performer! Introduce this kind of music to your children and grand children....

  • Love it.

  • No wonder I grew up wanting to be a background singer (even though I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket). True talent.

  • @kcbrez1 Laughing...why do you think I post these rather than sing them

  • @handsmlake Ya gotta tell me... what's the venue here? Everybody's feeling the energy, and so do I when I watch this one. Thanks

  • @kcbrez1 Well, don't feel bad, I can't carry a tune in a plastic bag. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

  • Wow this song STILL sounds hot after so many years.. you know how some artist suck like Jodey Whatley still trying to sing those old ass songs and cracking the notes, awful costumes. But this guy is sexy and he is singing on POINT seriously he rocks.

  • wow. this song is GREAT.. he was so kool.. what happened to this style of music? I STILL LOVE

  • RIP soulful and legendary crooner...I will never forget you!

  • This gem shows what today's "sounds" (I refuse to call that trash music) lack in so many, many ways.

  • WoW" WaT A "PeRFoRMeN'S"

  • Guys! If you want your woman to know how much she's appreciated by her man. Dedicate this song to her. She will give you so much in return.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHH!! REAL MUSIC!! GET YOU SOME OF THAT!!

  • Was he a Freemason?

  • GREAT JOB ALL OF YOU!

  • Smash hit in 1973...still gold almost 40 yrs. later. Thank you Al Wilson!

  • I didn't know he passed RIP Al thank you for this great song

  • This was the jam I sang to my high school sweetheart. I really enjoyed playing show and tell with her back in the day.

  • Just thinking of her, I was falling in love (again) with a woman I met 25 yrs ago and this song came on the radio, making it "our" song. Alas, I discovered, a few days later, that it was too late. She died 2 yrs ago and I didn't have the chance to "try again."

At 2:16 the cellist is really feeling the energy from the audience...fabulous!

  • Great song and great voice!

  • beautiful.. i love to see the original singers perform their songs-thanks for posting!

  • great track al wilson at his best

  • Well there's one soul less tone deaf dip shit out there that had to push the dislike button.

  • Bad jam from back in my day!

  • i had the 45 too

  • 1973 — I was 10 years old. How could I ever forget such a great song?

Thanks for the video. Generally speaking, "live music sucks",

BUT this clip is one of the few exceptions to the rule

    *THUMBS UP*

  • rip!! this song makes me cry. for real alot of the classics make me cry

  • Great song! Great voice!

  • Now this is music with some heart.

  • I remember this song from the first dance I went to in 8th grade, I looked up song after the girl I went to the dance with saw each other at our 30 year class reunion.

Yes ,we did dance to it some 35 years after we first did in 8th grade..... Great memories...... Miss you Al

  • I remember this song from the first dance I went to in 8th grade, I looked up song after the girl I went to the dance with saw each other at our 30 year class reunion.

Yes ,we did dance to it some 35 years after we first did..... Great memories......

  • I'm 42 yrs of age, but grew up in a household where music like this was loved then and still loved now. Some of this music that is being recorded and sold today is a waste of music. These kids have to wake up and understand real music.

  • you will smile brightly and feel good to hear this masterpiece

  • great song from El Pso Texas,,, good times ,,Jesse -n- Carla,,

  • a true classic

  • what happened to the Soul Train version?

  • What a great live version......wish I could have been there.....sad he passed away......check out the small orchestra having a great time with the smiles and realizing how much the audience enjoyed his performance,

  • One of my all time favorites..will never get old!!!

  • omg I LOVE THIS SONG..USE TO PLAY THIS SONG ALL THE TIME ON 45 WHEN I LIVE IN MANCHESTER OVER 30 YEARS AGO WHAT A TOP TUNE !!!

  • sigh...I miss the ol days...smooth as silk

  • Love this clip. Al's voice is crisp, strong and emotional; Great background singers, full band with strings and horns - I love it! The tempo of the song is slowed down slightly but, it works. Peabo Bryson also performs a great remake.

  • Written by Jerry Fuller, who wrote most of the hits for Gary Puckett and the Union Gap. I wouldn't want to take money out of Al's pocket, but I wonder if this would have still been a hit if Gary's voice was put on that track. Nearly the same effect.

Great that a few people who came along after the fact like this too. Most any work of quality will transcend its time.. You see that in "Red, Hot and Blue, "Rain," "Smokey Joe's Cafe," and "Jersey Boys."

  • I loved this song from the fist time I heard it.. Bought the 45 and now I have the mp3 .. Thanks for the video, it brings back lots of GREAT memories from the 70's

  • WHAT AN AMAZING SONG...THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH WORDS TO SAY HOW GREAT THIS SONG IS AND HOW GREAT THIS MAN IS....

  • @winecollector You said it,

  • Great song. Not number one til 1974 though......

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST LOVE SONGS OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVED IT WHEN I WAS A YOUNG KID in '73....LOVE IT TO THIS DAY!

WHAT A TREAT FOR THE MUSICIANS TO PLAY FOR THIS GUY.

  • I heard this song tonight on a station that is new to me in the Dallas area and it reminded me of the days when radio was so great, all genres and these black entertainers were the best, the love, groove songs, man what great songs.

  • @handsmlake . Many thanks for posting this. Probably the best live version I've seen of Al performing his signature song, even though he's obviously not in his prime here. What show is this from and when was it recorded? I'm guessing it's sometime in the 90s.

  • Mr. Wison.... Bring me back great memories!

    Thanks ...

  • Now that's the way it's done!!!!

  • Brilliant song - absolute classic! How much better is this than most of the cRAP passing for music these days? This still sounds fresh after > 30 years - a testament to how great and timeless the best music of the 70s was!!

  • @Ruoktoday1 I second that emotion.

  • @Ruoktoday1 Sorry, man, i'll write in portuguese... Remember Al Wilson, Wilson Pickett, Al Green, Lou Rawls... Who is Justin "What"? Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, they make me very happy! Grande abraço

  • What an absolute all-time evergreen soul tune. WOW!

  • One of the great tunes of the pristine early 70s. Love that the production featured brass, strings, and those awesome backing vocals! Thanks for posting.

  • Where is this great music today..........loved the soulfull sound of these great singer....

  • the better

  • The gift to black men was a soul in their voice and they abandoned it. They preferred singing about clothes and money, and even sometimes attacking the white man. Black youngsters have something to learn.

  • The malcolm in the middle episode with this in it is hilarious. The dad is singing this just before the mom gets home.

  • 10/19/07

these are the lips that keep on calling your name ..

  • these are the arms that long to lock you inside everyday & every night

  • Al could still rock it even into the 2000's. He sounds just like he did in 1973! Impressive for any singer. This was one of my favorite songs from in the 1970's. I was only 7 when this song came out and I definitely remember it well. My mom would play on the AM radio in the car all the time. I love it even to this day. Rest in peace AL, you are great sir!

  • I loved this song so much in 1973 that I went and bought the song on a 45 record.

Thanks for the notes on the videos. I'm so sorry that he passed away. What was the cause of the death?

  • Kidney failure

  • Wilson died April 21, 2008 of kidney failure, in Fontana, California at the age of 68.

  • I would have been happy to give him one of mine!!!

  • @1961Tuber Me too !

  • Growing up in the 60's & 70's was the best! The music ---forever great---no matter if it was Motown, the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc. Every time I hear "Show and Tell" a lot of fantastic memories are remembered. Ah yes, what memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's gone about a year and a half.

  • Not going to offend anyone by knocking what they like in music, but I'm telling you Al Wilson is the MAN. This is the most beautiful song ever. Makes me think of my wife and how much I love her.
