My favorite song of all time. Everytime it comes on the radio, I turn it up as loud as I can and sing along. I do the same at home, drives the wife crazy how loud I play it.
Instantly transported back toVivos bar in Tenerife Soul in the Sun where everyone was in unison singing to this....absolutely awesome!!!...so many memories...right on Brothers and Sisters!...cant wait for our next Soultastic reunion in April Dave fro York formerly Burnley
I was reintroduced to this wonderful song last week on our oldies station! When I heard the into I just stated tearing up! How could I have forgotten about Al Wilson and this incredible song and left it out of my library? Thank God for oldies stations, and thank God for you, Al Wilson!
I could listen to this song over and over!!! Music from that time was so real!! I always say i was born to late in life!!! oh well still love this music!!! The best is alls I can say about Al Wilson
I was young and married only two years when I heard this song the first time . we were going shopping at the new Target and I commented to my wife at the time how Al sounded like Johnny Mathis when he had to hit the high notes . I have liked this song ever since that day
I know I'll be called an old fart trapped in the 70's but, It seems this type of soul and feeling was much more prevalent in the songs of this era. The music today is fine I suppose but it lacks this kind of depth and emotion. Are there any Al Wilsons or Al Greens or bill withers today???
I love how the shots of the orchestra are pure smiles. They're loving the moment and why not? They're playing a beautiful song with Al and that crowd.
Ignore my wierd username. But anyways I'm in my teen years and this beats about 99% of the new crap thats on today. This actually has meaning and good beats to it not like the new songs with people cussing their brains off, sceaming, or thatstpid repetitive crap.Great song great song.
It's too bad that my generation doesn't have R&B singers of this calibre; I guess this is a drawback of HIP-HOP. Oh well! Blame The music industry executives for that. Nice job, Mr. Wilson.
Wow this song STILL sounds hot after so many years.. you know how some artist suck like Jodey Whatley still trying to sing those old ass songs and cracking the notes, awful costumes. But this guy is sexy and he is singing on POINT seriously he rocks.
Just thinking of her, I was falling in love (again) with a woman I met 25 yrs ago and this song came on the radio, making it "our" song. Alas, I discovered, a few days later, that it was too late. She died 2 yrs ago and I didn't have the chance to "try again."
At 2:16 the cellist is really feeling the energy from the audience...fabulous!
I remember this song from the first dance I went to in 8th grade, I looked up song after the girl I went to the dance with saw each other at our 30 year class reunion.
Yes ,we did dance to it some 35 years after we first did in 8th grade..... Great memories...... Miss you Al

I'm 42 yrs of age, but grew up in a household where music like this was loved then and still loved now. Some of this music that is being recorded and sold today is a waste of music. These kids have to wake up and understand real music.
What a great live version......wish I could have been there.....sad he passed away......check out the small orchestra having a great time with the smiles and realizing how much the audience enjoyed his performance,
Love this clip. Al's voice is crisp, strong and emotional; Great background singers, full band with strings and horns - I love it! The tempo of the song is slowed down slightly but, it works. Peabo Bryson also performs a great remake.
Written by Jerry Fuller, who wrote most of the hits for Gary Puckett and the Union Gap. I wouldn't want to take money out of Al's pocket, but I wonder if this would have still been a hit if Gary's voice was put on that track. Nearly the same effect.
Great that a few people who came along after the fact like this too. Most any work of quality will transcend its time.. You see that in "Red, Hot and Blue, "Rain," "Smokey Joe's Cafe," and "Jersey Boys."
I loved this song from the fist time I heard it.. Bought the 45 and now I have the mp3 .. Thanks for the video, it brings back lots of GREAT memories from the 70's

@handsmlake . Many thanks for posting this. Probably the best live version I've seen of Al performing his signature song, even though he's obviously not in his prime here. What show is this from and when was it recorded? I'm guessing it's sometime in the 90s.
Brilliant song - absolute classic! How much better is this than most of the cRAP passing for music these days? This still sounds fresh after > 30 years - a testament to how great and timeless the best music of the 70s was!!
@Ruoktoday1 Sorry, man, i'll write in portuguese... Not going to offend anyone by knocking what they like in music, but I'm telling you Al Wilson is the MAN. This is the most beautiful song ever. Makes me think of my wife and how much I love her.

Beautiful voice and delivery. Could even be country as well as R&B.

I agree, and I'm not much into country myself.

I feel sorry for the kids today. They think they know what music is. Im glad I grew up in the 60's and 70's.

Some youth still appreciate real music. I know I do.

Growing up in the 60's & 70's was the best! The music ---forever great---no matter if it was Motown, the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc. Every time I hear "Show and Tell" a lot of fantastic memories are remembered. Ah yes, what memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not going to offend anyone by knocking what they like in music, but I'm telling you Al Wilson is the MAN. This is the most beautiful song ever. Makes me think of my wife and how much I love her.
