  • what else do we need, an awsome kramer and an original floyd rose = heaven

  • Fuckyeah, richie sambora :)

  • 25 people don't have a Flyod Rose bridge on their guitar :D

  • why does this video have the music of an 1980s education video

  • its like you're jerking off :P

  • guitars that dont have whammy bars in them that means there still virgins

  • @skatechamp4life no it means satan, guitars who arent played on is virgins, in my opinion, stopbar tailpiece was a satans invention god created floyd rose

  • HOW TO MAKE 7:04 sound ?I saw Alexi Laiho made this sound, but still can't make it .

  • @marco1718mark you play a note or harmonic, pull the bar up and just let go...hope that helped

  • @99chrisjc sometimes it works ,not too perfect

    btw ,thx ur tip =D

  • @dmometalguitar i know you probably get this question all the time i am desperate iv gone through 2 different floyds because i can seem to keep them in tune. my first was a jackson license. iv asked around the internet and everyone said that they arent great but they atleast hold tune decently. this wasnt the case with mine. it go flat and after tightening the fine tuners all the way i would still have to unlock it and retune it atleast once a week. now it the same withe my new trem. any tips?

  • I have a Floyd Rose Speedloader System in 'free floating mode' on my guitar. I have a lot of tuning instability problems (and that's on their own stock Discovery Guitar). Also, changing string gauges and setting up alternate tunings is a 'pain in the ass'. Mine you that is in 'free floating mode'. But, I would never give up my Floyd Rose, despite it's misgivings.

  • You're great man!!! i'm your fan, seriously:!

  • By far the best floating bridge system ever made !!! I'm lucky enough to have a couple of the early 80's nickle block on a couple of my guitars.

  • The sustain bit is not entirely accurate unless you change out the stock trem block with a heavy weight one. Still for around $100 and a setup it is totally worth it.

  • I hate Floyd Rose's so much , they screw up the guitar after 6 months or more. I honestly hate the person who made them. Guitars mostly DO NOT GO OUT OF TUNE unless you are slammin the guitar on the ground and hitting the tremelo over and over like your masturpating. Ibanez would be so good if they got rid of all thier floyd roses. but thats my opinion , we all have ours

  • METAL GREENSLEEVES FTW XD

  • whats that thing above the locking nut looks like a standard nut but with legs

  • @LOMAZ5150 never mind i know what it is now its a string retainer

  • man can you imagine this actually what floyd rose actually done

  • @gmrios in reply you say "a dimbag darrell solo"

  • I know a floyd rose seams like a pain to tune but can you change tunings fast and easy, like from standard to drop c and then to Eb standard and to drop B. i like changing tunings alot and frequently

  • Kahler > Floyd Rose < Wilkinson

  • would i be able to put a 42mm locking nut on a ibanez that i think is supposed to be 43??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • 5:20 he is jacking off!!!

  • @xXMeTalZXx thats what i was thinking LOL

  • lol. "don't play like this at home."

  • unbeleivable tuning stability? bullshit mine doesnt stay in tune and i dont know why. the trem is level......

  • @JoshGoldie

Do you have the original floyd?

  • @Tiberiusize i have the ibanez 350DX with the stock floyd, so yeah i think its original....not sure.

  • @JoshGoldie

I am afraid that you have the cheap licensed version made by ibanez called ''edge III tremolo''. It is notorious for being absolutely horrible in any way. Your best bet is to never use the edge, or you'll go out of tune GUARANTEED.

    PS

There is nothing wrong with the original ''edge tremolo'' made by ibanez, but those are expensive so... I guess you're screwed.

  • @Tiberiusize well how much is a jackson/ibenez that is a really good guitar with an original floyd rose thats a good price? could you name some guitar? thanks :)

  • @JoshGoldie get an esp ltd mh-1000 you wont look back but any with a original will be 1000 or more

  • @JoshGoldie Edge 3s can work just fine if they are set up properly.

  • @UMadUJelly Actually no.

  • I lol'd at greensleeves.

  • the rockinger was a gd tremolo system 2...

  • Kramer and floyd originak, dont need anymore

  • @padawan007 its hard to get a good quality kramer today, hail the pacer and baretta

  • @skylineXpert ye baretta and pacer are awsome man but too hard to get them used, did you hear that "gibson kramer,, will make a stagemaster replica in 2011? check google

  • @padawan007 the baretta is to awesome to produce as a reissue, it should be manufactured like the striker,

and nothing can replace the baretta

  • @skylineXpert true bro very true

  • That was sick. I'm getting one of these with my new guitar here next week. Can't wait to do stuff like this! You yourself are a great guitarist and you've kinda inspired me to play like that.

  • i never liked floyd rose big hole in the guitar 2posts that break sometimes and the old tuning rods scratched the body when tuneing then they copied kahler and made tuners on the bridge . long junk springs .really ive had all of them and anything made in china is junk dont buy it im 44 years old man i know what is best

  • greensleeves... :)

  • you should be famous...

  • "Floyed showed his unit to Randy" ... uhuhuhuhuh xD

    loved the vid though

  • hey ho

    your videos are awesome....

    where are you from?

i wanted to ask you if you know something about the floyd rose 1000 sereies.

    thanks

    keep metal

  • @wolfman109h the 1000 series if i've heard correctly is marked by and monitored under Floyd Rose strictly, while made in Korea or a similar company. I believe the materials aren't the same as the hardened steel of the original Floyd. probably die-cast. so it's made cheaper, but it's the exact same design so you should get the feel and the flutter effect of the original. the only issue is that you'll need to sharpen the knife edges sometimes and put chapstick on the knife posts.

  • I got this fender with Seymour Duncans and Kinmans, but i can't use the whammy because just one dive bomb or one squeal gets it out of tune. Can i install a floyd rose on my strat>

  • @boxtrap21 yes. however you'll need to have a luthier (preferably) to tap and drill holes for the posts that the trem rides on. and, take the old nut off and route some and drill holes for the locking nut. so it's a matter of grinding some wood away and drilling some screwholes and you can put a basic floyd rose setup on there. however you won't get much pull-up action.

if you want a real floating system, you'll need to have your luthier route away a full cavity for the trem, which takes a lot.

  • @AirgunAddict256 I actually just bought an ESP LTD M-300FM 2 days ago. It has a Floyd Rose Special. Its fine, but it could be better. I'm probably going to swap it for an Original Floyd Rose by Schaller. Will it be hard to swap it out?

  • @boxtrap21 nah it shouldn't be hard. if it's a Floyd Rose Special, it should be made by Floyd Rose so it should be an exact copy of the design with cheaper metals. so you should just be able to drop it right in and screw out the old posts and screw in the new ones. same with the claw and springs. and then just drop in the new locking nut in the same way. it should take about 10 minutes.

  • @AirgunAddict256 Awesome, thanks for the quick response!

  • @boxtrap21 no problem. and good luck with your installation. if you have problems, you should talk to a luthier. he shouldn't have much problem attaching the trem himself.

  • @AirgunAddict256 alright thanks. One more question, where can I buy the floyd rose? Do they sell them at guitar centers or would I have to order online?

  • @boxtrap21 well, guitar center sells a Graph Tech licensed floyd rose with piezo pickups in the saddles but i wouldn't buy that.

if you want an original Floyd by Schaller like everyone raves, look at this site called Warmoth. just type in "original Floyd Rose tremolo" in google. and look for the link from the site Warmoth.com. they sell it for 180 bucks. from what i've seen, that's the best bargain possible.

  • @AirgunAddict256 Alright, thanks.

  • @boxtrap21 yes, but you'll need to get the body routed to accept the floyd

  • @greensp4rk dude you don't respond to 6 month old comments, lol...

I have 2 guitars with floyds now

  • @boxtrap21 sorry, sorry...

  • @greensp4rk YOU BETTER BE SORRY YOU LITTLE FUCK!

    kidding, haha.

  • that tremolo sound more cooler with delays and revervs

  • @gmrios since I listen to Van Halen I'm always humming EXACTLY this tune. What was its name...?

  • @gmrios ...again, depends on the player, not the hardware.

  • Equal Time for GARY MACHINE GUN KAHLER!!!! Surface Mount tremolos rule for any neck thru guitars and thin-bodies

  • @gmrios I laughed.

  • Congratulations! My respects to the creator of this great device! I can't play a guitar wihout a floyd rose anymore!

  • is floyd rose better than kahler?

  • @elmokid15 Not really, depends on the guitar and the player, largely, not the hardware itself

  • @elmokid15 umm yes...by a long shot!!!

  • are these tremolo's supposed to go backwards too cuz i have a sky guitar with a floyd rose locking trem and it only goes foward

  • @batertot6 No, what the heck are you talking about???

  • excellent

  • wich fret and string do i have to hit for the horse effect?

  • @hector4295 Nautral harmonicson the b string i think

  • FUCKINELL! The flutter is just hypnotic!

  • maybe someone can help me, i have a 80's warlock, in GREAT condition, it has the lock nut, and a floyd rose tremalo, but i cant get it to stay level, ive taken out one of the 3 springs and changed around settings several times to try and fix it, but whenever i get it set so the floyd rose is level, it goes out of tune CRAZY fast, someone help

  • Love the 1:25 foto!

  • Nice - very informative.

  • Truly one of the best educational videos on YouTube.

  • i can't believe he didn't metion Alexi Laiho

  • @guitarshreder91 because alexi doesnt use tremolos that much in guitar playing. he taps alot

  • @shidoink are you kidding, he uses it all the time listen to almost anysong by Children of Bodom type in "Alexi Laiho Whammy bar tricks" and watch the video that comes up

  • You are good with that Floyd Rose man hell your good at guitar!

  • That is some crazy abuse of the floyd. I'am afraid of trying that because i'm afraid it will break.

  • @chocolatesprite there ain much to break thats what its made to do

  • @guitarshreder91 I know, but ever since a stupid mistake with a shitty squire strat(my first guitar) I have this fear embedded in my head.

  • @chocolatesprite the worst thing that could happen if you play it like this guy in the video does, it might come out of tune or break a string

  • @guitarshreder91 I broke all of the fuccking string at once.

  • @chocolatesprite on your floyd? then it sound like the bridge is too high

  • @guitarshreder91 no, It happened on a squire trem

  • @chocolatesprite oh a Floyd Rose is made to be abused and beat on it should be able to handle it no problem

  • @chocolatesprite YES! ME TOO!

  • i love my floyd rose

  • nice!

  • awesome video, I simply love my floyd rose guitar, its a Cort x-11

  • I have a purple KRAMER guitar, and it has Floyd Rose, but the tremolo broken off the sound of horse...

  • Floyd Rose is amazing , for stability of tunning O_O

  • U SUX

  • @yilos1982

    HA hes better then you

  • When you bend a note and sustain another, the sustained note goes flat :/

  • @FredrickVonDinkles Try a Hipshot Tremsetter-they improve pitch sability, tone & sustain.

  • kirk

  • why we can' t play like you at home ahah?

  • lol the mullet at 3:44

  • How is the Floyd Rose Pro bridge?

it should be as good as an original I assume?

how come I've never seen guitars with the original Floyd Rose Pro before?

  • It's the same quality wise, but the string spacing is more narrow. They're good for retrofitting guitars with thinner necks. Something like a Squier Affintity.

  • @DH31701 I have a Floyd Rose Pro installed in my Ibanez RG5EX1, and believe me, it's just as good as an OFR. Tuning Stability, sustain, you name it, it's got it. And of course, the string spacing is a tad bit more narrow, but after a while, you will get used to it.

  • my ibanez is the shit but the springs vibrate alot so it really takes out the sustain anything i cud do besides take off the back take off the springs and put foam in there

  • 3:30 - 3:36 sounds verry funny! Many people say to me don't buy a tremolo and spezially don't buy a Floyd Rose, this was before I buy my first guitar. I love the Floyd Rose in my Jackson RX10 D Rhoads. Tuning stablility is very good! I love it to play some crazy stuff with my tremolo!

  • I'm having some trouble on my tremolo.

the low E keeps coming out at the bridge end. I put the end of the string in and tighten the screw to hold it in place, but by the time i tune past Eb, the string pops out of the bridge.

    Help?

  • what gague is the string???

that COULD be the issue because when i put some heavy strings on my friends alexi 200, 2 strings would always pop off when i pulled the bar way up, im assuming its the thread count on the scews dont give enough pounds to hold such tension in place from the string. Putting new strings on fixed this, however

  • From 5:20 - 5:40 it sounds so funny, man:)

  • I remember playing heaps of guitars with a Floyd on it when I grew up. I remember the original Jem had a metal box over the bridge, looked cool. I've got an Edge Pro now, I didn't hesitate when I tried it out. Feel the same but louder for some reason. I want the sustainer now.

    Love your vid.

  • whoa the first floyd rose was first modeld like a vibrato bar. awesome i love vibrato bars they dont go out but u cant to dive bombs but u can pull back on them

  • sweet dime squeals

  • great system very iconic in my opinion but the early models had the flaw of not having fine tuners so it was 50x harder to tune up

  • dont know if you answered this do you have a fernandes sustainer in the v?

  • Is your Jackson king V made in the USA

  • What are you playing at 5:50 sounds awesome

  • thanks so much for making this video it had so much information..considering i just bought a guitar with a floyd rose =)))

  • haha wow i had to laugh at 5:20. all was calm then whoaaaa. :) i enjoy your videos.

  • 3: 40 stings

  • cool!

  • I was wondering what adjusting the torque on the tremelo would do, what would happen if you made it tighter? looser? also, to de-tune the guitar you just take the locks off, center all the fine tuners, tune down and put the locks back on? another question, what does changing the arm action and adjusting the tremelo springs do? and what the fuck is a saddle? I'm really lost, I just bought this guitar with a locking tremelo and I'm in way over my head.

  • i want to ask everyone here to help me!I want to buy an acoustic guitar and i like one, which has a whammy bar,yes that's right.I know the trem is usually used in an electric guitar, but i want to know if it is worth to buy that guitar and can i do any effects on the acoustic guitar with that vibrato arm?Is it valuable to obtain it?Thanx in advance!

  • this guy made one, if you like how it sounds why not

    /watch?v=1rstnOz1EmQ&feature=related

  • ok a saddle is the part where the bridge is where the string comes out lays down on. so ok tuning down its as easy as tuning. u just tune down. fine tune then adjust the springs so the bridge is parallel with the body.i dont know about torque sey bout that. and when u tune YOU DO NOT UNLOCK THE BRIDGE TO TUNE THE ONLY THING U SCREW WITH IS THE FINE TUNERS i just made all those capitol to emphasise that and if ur not ready for a floyd rose like not know what to do dont buy it

  • well, since i met floyd rose i try to buy a guitar with it, or customize my old strat, this give us more effects and possibilities to compose metal songs, and feel power of metal

  • I believe it's the best since the TransTrem system(I am referring to the original ones from the 80's and early 90's, never tried the new ones)created by Ned Steinberger, this one is unbeatable, the only problem about it, is just like Apple computers, it's really expensive and it's not available as something you can buy separately to add-on to your guitar(kinda like Windows, you can install it in any computer you want) it's exclusively sold with the guitar, it's the brand for the brand :)

  • cool vid! he prolly made a few million of that $!$!$!$!$!$!

  • annoying s hell tremolo effects...

  • "Codsack" What about breaking a string on the first song? So much for the rest of the set

  • your king v is beautiful

  • i hate the way this video makes me wants to spend more cash.

  • I heard that floyd used a Vise Grip With a piece of brass behind the nut for the first attempt

  • love the batman reference

  • I have a question. Your conoses other sites(places) besides guitar center to buy guitars in miami i am from venezuela i have a bc rich wartribel metal master but i want a bc rich warlock nt with a floyd rose. But always I go to guitar center and there is never this model in whom another shop I can buy one?

  • you can buy one from ebay

  • Now do a tribute to Kahler, but the whole video must consist of Slayer and Primus clips.

  • hey im just bought my first guitar with a licensed floyd rose (ibanez rg370 with edge III) and it works fine but i have one little problem... it seems that my low E string slips in the locking nut when i pull up the whammy bar and then all the strings get out of tune. i don't know what to do, can someone here help me?

  • tighten the locking nut

  • i've tihgten it a lot and it stils sliping :s

  • you should've tightened it until it resisted, if you overtightened it, the screws may have gotten worn out. you may have to buy a new locking nut

  • adjust the screws on the back plate until the strings are balanced

  • Did Eddie realyy make the horse sound famous?

I didn't think that he ever used pull ups that much (or at all)

  • great vid, but i dont like your Style using the FR!

  • i agree he kinda makes it a little anoying

  • Nah, I don't think so. Listen to Alexi Laiho's playing on Are you dead yet? and then tell me Dime used the trem the most.

  • Very good

  • DAmn, you're really puttin' that whammy bar to work. I'm scared I'm going to rip the tremolo off the guitar if I press it down hard :/.

  • i need a new floyd for my kh-2

  • How the hell did you wear out an OFR? or is it a KH-202?

  • i guess i tightend the screws too tight but now i have new parts and its working fine now:)

  • Bridge contributes more to sustain then pickups, retard.

  • bullshit

  • i have a fender and its great cos its sustain is shit and it always goes outta tune all the time.

  • hey queingon, what hes doing there is hes just hitting the whammy bar. kind of striking it a little bit

  • do gibson les paul have this

  • no!

  • do you think it's possible to install a floyd on a gibson style guitar? I imagine you'd have to cut away a spot for it to fit.

  • possible but very hard, you'd have to route some wood away... too risky i think to put such a great trem on such an awful guitar

  • haha, cool. thanks. Any opinions on sticking a 15" speaker in an iso-cab for my 6string recording? Or, 4 15"s in a guitar cab? I'm a newb with speakers.

  • sadly, i am also a noob when it comes to that stuff

    wish i could help =\

    sorry

  • You wouldn't have the space to put four 15's in a guitar cab... Unless you play in really low tunings (like dropped-B or something), just stick with 12's.

  • you should give lessons.

  • How do you get that weird chirping sound on 7:08 to 7:30.

Dragon Force uses that on their songs and I've always wondered.

  • It's called fluttering, check out some videos here on Youtube.

  • try check out Steve Vai's tricks @ song lessons.. or,if u could understand this 1> just press down the bar, and move ur hand away from it til the bar is fully slipped out off ur hand. the spring natural reflexes will produce the 'chirping' sound as u mentioned it. think of a spring board at the swimming pool. good luck

  • great video man

  • kahler is better!!

    5:19 thats insane

  • so whats the real difference between double locking and single locking?

  • your guitar wont stay in tune with single locking

  • Im a tremolo fan.

  • Amazing that he chose to lock the strings instead of trying to invent some lubricant.
