  • I LOVE YOUR ACCENT!<3<3

  • Comment removed

  • It's really hard to understand for person who speaks normal english, like me. In Somerset there are long vowels so everyone can hear beatiful words.

Anyway nice to hear such a difference.

  • Northern accents, way hotter than Southern accents. At least in this American's opinion.

  • hrm Do not waste time, come to my room I'm all burning

  • proper northen accent m8 :)

  • POTEEETO

  • @PokerPlum Thanks, I just think we sound plain. : )

  • Anne Hathway should've seen this video, maybe she would have done a lot better in One Day.

  • Utility lolol

  • No, this guy isn't socially inept and awkward.

  • @djvapid I detect sarcasm there. Nevertheless, good call.

It's like hitting the bullseye with your eyes closed.

  • @FMKidsan You're from Lancashire aint you pal? I dont detect any Yarkshire lingo in your accent.

  • Canadian here who thinks your accent is very cute. : ) Now our accent is crappy. lol

  • i love british accent

  • I like your voice :)

  • haha you arent american

  • LONDON!

  • Like the way you said affirmative.

  • Can some accentspesialist(lol) tell me what accent Daniel Radcliffe has?

  • Although I'm not right up in the north of England, I'm in the midlands so that's not the far south, so yeah, I fucking hate the southern window licking cunts!

  • @TheMitchy93 lol well said hahahaha!

  • hey look someone taught a northern monkey to read!

  • Eee that's champion!

  • beautiful indeed

    the accent and the guy

  • It sounds really cool imo. One thing I've noticed though.. You guys don't seem to pronounce T's unless they're at the beginning of a word. :O

Like, wa'er (Water) in this video. :p

  • @gnawershreth i do this and im essex

  • @raminios

It's those sorts of things that can make English dialects a bit hard to understand at time. :)

I'm from Denmark, so it's not like I hear dialects like that on a daily basis. lol Sometimes I have to go back and listen to it again when watching English videos here on Youtube. :p

  • Where are you from? Yr way of speaking is really nice.

My favorite British accent is Derby but I can't stand Manchester, Liverpool or Newcastle accents. No idea why. It's just the way it is.

  • Hey, we're not all snobs.

And besides, where have all the most famous riots taken place? Even in recent years? That's right the south, so you can fuck the stereotypical ''ohh you know you're all snobs and think northerners are pricks''. To be fair I think a lot of Northerners that have this attitude are fucked off that the rest of the UK hates them as much as they the South. You're not getting any brownie points by bumsucking the Scots, the Welsh or the Irish.

  • The way you say things remind me of Andrew Garfield :O

  • potairto...strairtner lol

  • I think your accent is cute. >.>" I'm from the US, so I'm extraordinarily biased, but I see no reason for the hate.

  • Here in the south, I like it. I like the north, too. I don't hold anything against you all that live there. Why should I? I think we all should not care where we are from or where we are , and just unite. It would be easier for us all without everyone going apeshit about what part you're from!

  • noob cake?

  • soooo i watch Geordie Shore and I dont understand half of the things they say, but im entertained! and im learning...lol, I cant figure out though, why "us, them, we" in place of "me,her/him,I" ???

  • @baytayb He isn't geordie :D He sounds cumbrian.

The north slang is.. older in a way than what you have in the south so we forget how much we change sentences. People from newcastle use lyk a lot us is just a general term for yourself. 'em/'um /dem is just how some people speak. Loads of people use shit like av and reet too. And eh, do you have eh?

  • @Manovmilk well im from the US so I actually dont use any of those terms but i find it FASCINATING! lol. I want to visit England just to pick up the accent. And I think I do say eh sometimes if you mean it the same as I do.

  • Lol, you remind me Chris Acland from Lush, who came from the Lake district... R.I.P. Chris.

  • Pronounce your t's, man! Disgraceful.

  • The beauty It's not in the accent.... it's just in that sexy voice....In my country almost all the men have a girl voice :S

  • ahahahaha I love this :3.

  • CUMBRIANS FTW:) +your fit :O

  • You sound like Doki66, the guy who does the Salad Fingers videos.

  • @KedViper I think Dokie66 is from Hull or somewhere in Yorkshire so I guess that makes sense I know he hangs out at a lot festivals in Leeds and surrounding areas.

Salad Fingers is pretty fucked up but I can`t help watch the vids every know and again I bet that Doki66 is permanently stoned.

  • @TrilogyofC Well, I don't know about Salad Fingers but for a lot of his videos, he says they're based off of his dreams.

  • @KedViper can you imagine having those dreams they are light nightmares in a way hes probably been smoking to much weed.

  • @TrilogyofC Did you ever see that claymation one he has called "Hell"?

  • @KedViper no I`ve not seen that one I`ll have a look for it now! The thing is when I start watching his vids even though they are pretty messed up I can`t help but look through them all lol!

  • @stupiintellect90 you are a very ignorant person. it's idiots like you that give americans a bad name. go get some education ya twat. Besides.. in the video he never mentioned amercians. he said his friend is Canadian. Why don't you go get a map and see if you can find either Canada or the North of England on it.

  • @stupiintellect90 you are a very ignorant person. it's idiots like you that give americans a bad name. go get some education ya twat. • ^^^ thats the northan accent, the others british accent is southern and that is the intelligent and awsome accent.. ;)

  • you should make a vidio of you saying dodadodado

  • you should make a vidio of you saying dodadodado

  • patertor

  • Argh <3 I love this accent <3

  • fuck me

  • @QueenofMcFly1 Of course, it's the same anywhere really. Californians have a different accent to people from Boston, and people from Texas have a noticeably different accent to everyone else, right? It works the same way that you can distinguish accent within your own country. So can we.

UK accents differ mostly on words, and especially slang. Regional dialects have so many different names for things that it can be hard to keep up.

  • @QueenofMcFly1 a southerner :L

  • why the fuck do us northerns always get shit, oooo is grim up north, i hate northerns there so common and backward, well fuck you all you posh, snobby, fox hunting southern bastards. :L

  • @CockneyBurberry THANK YOU! People piss me off, this is just a dumb sounding individual, and we're being tarred with the same brush... Thanks guy!

  • @CockneyBurberry the snail paced broad slang he is speaking in makes ppl think that is the standard accent of all northerners. dont know where he is from, sounds like south yorks, but it just sounds comedic.

  • @CockneyBurberry Right on CockneyBurberry, NORTHERN ENGLAND FTW!!!! South are snobs arent they apart from eaaaast ennderr landan, birmingham and the south west.

  • @CockneyBurberry Southerners aren't all posh, snobby, fox hunters...im a southerner and im not any of those!

  • @FearlessRLC96 well then 99% of them are, am just stereotypeing cos thats what everyone else is doing about northerners

  • @FearlessRLC96 but most wrongly call themselves "british" rather than English

  • @CockneyBurberry is this a real comment? Southerners are snobby? somebody leaves in a cave

  • @NickBee193 obv southerners are snobby they always look down on us northerners, and what you on about leaves in a cave?

  • @NickBee193 what the fuck? ofcourse southerners are snobby and you just proved the point that your all retarded posh cunts

  • @balamort i'm a southerner and i've never been to the us, but i've got american accent, apparently

  • @meowool what you on about you freak

  • @meowool

youre prolly one of those people who are insecure about how they speak and so pronounce words like an american nstead lollololol

  • @W0mby it's ow i've always spoken, thou, but i don't get the piss taken out for it, so why would i be insecure?

  • @meowool your from the South but you speak with an American accent LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! Then again you are only 14 and like you said in your comment you have never been to the U.S. So which American accent do you believe you speak? I`m not taking the piss it just sounded funny reading your comment but a lot of U.S slang is used in this day and age Ive noticed my American buddies have started to use some British/English slang, cunt, wanker that kind of stuff.

  • @TrilogyofC no idea, but from when i have recorded my voice for english tests, and listened to it, it sounds canadian-ish, but thats my opinion. also i love when americans try to do an 'english accent' cos they end up sounding like the queen

  • @meowool Why on earth would you have an american accent if you're from the south of England? Unless you're putting it on, god knows why anyone would WANT that accent.

  • @yasashii89 well to start with, i don't put it and it's not a fullblown one either. the answer is because i bloody fcking do.

  • @meowool Well, theres no other explanation other than you want to sound like that. I'm half English, never lived in the UK and grew up around a lot more Americans when it came to speaking english, yet I speak with a broad Yorkshire accent because that's how I was raised to speak, I'd be a wannabe if I was to sound at all american in any way. If you were born and raised in England there is no reason that you should sound american, apart from that you're a wannabe american.

  • @yasashii89 i never realised it was partly sounding american, until we were talking about accents and we were saying you don't realise that do have a n accent, seeing a s your voice seems perfectly normal to you

  • @meowool well now i have lost the american now, as i heard myself for the first time in a while speaking in a school musical.

  • @NickBee193 to be honest not all Southerners are snobby I have a few friends who are from the South. Its just funny stereotypes and a bit of English banter but by the looks of kinda getting out of hand with the comments on here.

  • @CockneyBurberry can't 'unt foxes anyhow...it's illegal!!

  • @CockneyBurberry im from cornwall! but most of my dads side of the family are from yorkshire, I love it up north!

  • @CockneyBurberry Don't worry, no matter how bad the people of Southern England may be, they're no where near as bad as the Southerners in the United States! XD

  • @CockneyBurberry bloody northern monkey.....

  • @chazza010 bloody southern fairy....

  • @CockneyBurberry ha touché

  • This is the reason I want to go to University in Cumbria

  • i love the way he said water :D <3 its awsome i love your accent btw

  • he kinda reminds me of jim sturgess... Its funny that some people are saying mean things because he talks like the guy in the video in Across the Universe... gah people are so LAME sometimes... I think your accent is cool :)

  • @QueenofMcFly1 its so easy its untrue

  • what is people trying to say about is accent it a deep my accent dickheads

  • @QueenofMcFly1 I'll show you through comedy! Us regular people like to make fun of posh people.

Middle class = posh. Often born into money, kids sent to private school, etc: ww w. youtube .c om /watch?v= YUNssEtAwr8

Upper class = ridiculously posh. The peerage, gentry, and hereditary landowners. (Earls, Dukes, Barons, etc) There's not many of them, but they seem to be what the American stereotype of Brits is bases on: w ww. youtube .co m/ watch?v= e5uvTr3SMoI&feature=related

  • @Tarn1968 It's a bit like North v South in the USA. The Northerners are our redknecks ;P

The UK is actually pretty damn tribal. Jason Manford sums it up perfectly. Manchester dislikes Liverpool. But they're both Northern, so they're united in that they dislike the south. The north and the south unite as England to dislike Scotland. Scotland and England unite as Britain to dislike France/US/Germany... Who all unite as the West to dislike the East. Actually... Humanity as a whole is tribal.

  • @cmchristou wrong Scotland and Northern England unite to dislike the Southern faggot fuckhead fairys.

  • @TrilogyofC north is poor and pastified

  • @2010blackhawkdown not really, some parts are but the same can be said for the South on that notion.

  • @TrilogyofC u started the stereotypes lol

  • @2010blackhawkdown I know mate I can`t take youtube serious sometimes so I have a mess around and leave a few dumb comments here and there.

  • @TrilogyofC I agree with that fully, Its weird how the Scots are separate country and yet they are more like us than the southerners. I think we should become a separate country in the North, the South always leave us to rot when the going gets hard.

  • @TrilogyofC Whatever helps you sleep at night, sunshine. You're one of us, like it or not.

  • @TrilogyofC Actually, I retract that statement. I'd rather not be from the same country as you. So whatever divisions you'd like to put up between us are fine by me.

  • @QueenofMcFly1 The links between accent and social class have eroded a fair bit since the barriers between the classes have come down, but it's still there! I'd say that our accents are formed more from our roots now than from our actual standing in society. Someone who speaks 'the Queen's English' is definately posh, although they may have adopted it to hide their roots. The uploader has a pretty strong regional accent, so it's safe to assume that he has working class roots like myself.

  • @QueenofMcFly1 type in "jamie carragher butchers the english language" for a liverpool accent. its hilarious i only understand half of what hes saying and im english!

  • @QueenofMcFly1 Wtf queenmcfly :/ :S

  • @QueenofMcFly1 omfg u dumb ass there are so many diff accents depending from were yr from like in america :/

  • OMG! People all over the UK have different accents. Why are people so angry?

  • @RamiG900 init ahhaha :D

  • @QueenofMcFly1 yes they can, coz the accents change pretty much in a matter of like 20 miles. every area has a different accent & it's really recognisable.

  • I'm from Newcastle and have friends from Leeds at uni and you really do have more of a Yorkshire accent than a Cumbrian one :P

any road, pretty interesting. Might use this for my speech analysis dissertation :P

  • PORTATO! haha - im in love with the northern accent.. ive got to do it for my monologue in drama - ace!

  • WOOP WOOP for Cumbria xD Watching your vid I'm like... how is this wierd to some people :)

  • Northern English accent sounds similar to Scottish.

  • @Johnnybomb1 how do they :/ ?

  • i love the accent :D

  • Lol people slagging off the northern accent are so pretencious.....sorry to destroy your idealistic dream view but not all people from england speak like hugh grant....i'm not even northern...i'm from south england and still think you're all bellends :)

  • Well obviously the posh accent is the best lol

Its just ashame not many young people have the balls to speak correctly these days.

  • Sound a bit Yorkshire, if I say so myself. I'm from Cumbria...

  • The North of England is amazing. It shits all over the South.

We gave the world The Beatles and Terry's Chocolate Orange.

  • @bluemoonrising26 South England has better weather!

  • @FearlessRLC96 yea thats true even though were I live in the North the heavy snow fall and bad weather wasn`t as bad were I am compared to the rest of the UK... suppose it just depends on location.

Overall its not like this country has great weather anyway even if you are in the South.

  • @TrilogyofC true, we do still get more rain than we do sun here in the south :L

  • @FearlessRLC96

Well given that I genuinely prefer the cold, the wind and the rain, I don't think it does.

    XD

  • WA-TER re in it

    no Wa-er

    FUCKING learn to speak

  • norternas is all fuckin chavs and twats.

  • why do i find this so hilarious? i only come from birmingham! <3#

  • that's funny thanks for sharing this kind of accen does sound so nice :)

  • you're so cute

  • @Tarn1968 Dunno... but at the end of the day north/south isnt much of a big deal cause its just a region at the end of the day....

  • aww, this is really cute. :)

  • we english people dont like the northerners

  • IM FROM NOTHERN CUMBRIA!!!!!! moved to canada 7 years ago stil got a stong accent :)

  • Scouse accents though.....

  • so nice!!!)))

  • hottttt

  • will you marry me!?

  • Perterto.. LOL

  • YAY!..Northeners ftw;)<3

  • I'm from up north and i don't have a strong northern accent, apparently i talk like Emma Watson, with a slight hint of a northern accent :P

  • Hahaha wut u talkin bout

  • Potato!

  • @KaylaCandy15 Keith Lemon can only do it good plz dont ruin it

  • @CALLUMALI What?

  • @KaylaCandy15 celebrity juice unless u dont watch it

  • I have no idea what my accent is. I live in Nottinghamshire which is technically in the Midlands, however I have been told by Northerners that it is in the south and I've been told by Southerners it is in the north! I go to a state school and people always say I am posh and imitate my pronunciation of words like last, past (larrrst, parrrst.)

Making it even stranger is that my parents are Northerners and I was born and lived in continental Europe!

  • @PreppyEnglishman sounds like you got he best of both worlds then!

  • @Tarn1968 The stereotype in England is that people from the North of England are common/unrefined but friendly, and that people from the south are posher but less friendly. Both are generally true to an extent. In a regards to class this is probably because the economy and wages in the south are much higher. Also, people from the North really are more likely to strike up a conversation with a stranger.

  • @PreppyEnglishman Great comment you got it right.

I never even think about class I just judge the person themselves whatever background they are from. Unfortunately the rest of this country does not have that attitude.

  • @PreppyEnglishman South are pansies...

  • @TheSchemer1 Thanks! What's wrong with the southern accent?

  • @stupidintellect90 Well apart from the west southern accent and the eeeeestteeenndeers laandan accent, you all speak dead posh.

  • @TheSchemer1 I can't argue with that, it is a bit boring if I do say myself :)

  • @stupidintellect90 Particularly the ofxord and cambridge accents, but I like the eeeaaaast eenndeer lANDan accent though..

  • @TheSchemer1 hehe...I'm liking how you're writing eeeeaassst eeenddeerrr! I was born, brought up and still live in the East End, but I don't have the accent, as a child I never liked to use slang and wanted to pronounce everything right. Not all Northern accents are bad, do you know who Guy Martin is? I'm in love with his accent, I could listen to him all day.

  • @stupidintellect90 Dont ave a clue who he is, but i may have heard the name somewhere duuun the lyne...

  • @stupidintellect90 me doing scottish..

  • @stupidintellect90 My parents (mum in particular) are trynna bring up me up with a "neutral accent". But when I speak neutrally i get the piss took out me at witherslack for speaking correctly. I wanna develop a good lanchasire accent when im older....

  • @TheSchemer1 There's no 'proper' way of talking, if we didn't have these variations, then we'd be bloody bored...just speak however you want to speak. But, seriously check Guy Martin out on youtube, he's a motercyclist and looks a lot like Wolverine, there's loads of clips of him talking, he talks a lot btw

  • @stupidintellect90 I mean like the queens english...
