@HinataChick38 The producer of the show, if he was asked, probably wouldn't have let them. He owns all the MST3K copyrights and crippled an attempt by the creator of the show to bring it back a few years ago.
This Week In The Universe must be a parody of the Universal newsreel during the 1930's, -40's and -50's. They did show the airplane flying through the Milky Way galaxy like the opening of every Universal movies and cartoon shorts during the 1920's and -30's, they have an airplane flying through the planet Earth (Universal Studios' symbol).
@utoobuser101 Wtf are you talking about? He made an obvious statement in regards to the scene, and I was merely drawing attention to the obviousness that that was the joke. Please think before you try to be a smartass.
@hitthefloor729 MST3K doesn't take place in the year 3000. Rather, the "3000" is to make the theater sound like an invention. The "Official" date for MST3K is "Next Sunday, A.D." Although, I don't blame you for assuming that.
Guess they got tired of riffing

Oh, that was rich!

I guess they couldn't afford to get the actual voice actors to do a cameo.

TheTherabbidsrule 3 months ago
@TheTherabbidsrule They probably snuck out to see the movie. Either that or they didn't want to start any Mike/Joel arguments

Man, I wish they could've spoken in the movie, as I would've loved for them to have some sort of commentary.

...Is that the actual voice actor?
Gigaspine7 5 months ago
@Gigaspine7 Nah. I don't think they wanted to bother him for just one line of dialogue.

Crow tells Fry not to talk during the movie. But him and Tom Servo always talked during the movie and making jokes in MST3K.

wulf02 10 months ago
@wulf02 They are probably trying to keep a low profile because they're out without him. That's why they aren't talking during the movie.

I love how it's both ironic, yet it fits because robots like that do exist in Futurama.

utoobuser101 8 months ago
I think it's ironic that they say not to talk during the movie, while all the show was about is TALKING DURING MOVIES.
6Darkrose9 1 year ago 5
I remember this. Isn't it a coincidence that both shows take place in the year 3000? It makes perfect sense! XD
