@emencz when I tell a friend I lost a paper, and she gives me advice to light a candle in the name of some dead rabbi and tells me to pray for him (the dead rabbi) to help me find the paper... that is paganism. As for your question, it is ok to visit the grave of a deceased friend or relative. It is not ok to ask them to do something for you. If you need the help ask G-d not man.

@emencz when I tell a friend I lost a paper, and she gives me advice to light a candle in the name of some dead rabbi and tells me to pray for him (the dead rabbi) to help me find the paper... that is paganism. And yes lighting candles is pagan too. That is why Shammai wanted candles to be removed on hanukah and not added.
As for your question, it is ok to visit the grave of a deceased friend or relative. It is not ok to ask them to do something for you. If you need the help ask G-d not man.

@emencz actually I am an expert in the period, the history, and the book of maccabees. I have also studied pagan practices. As far as Judaism is concerned I keep shabbat and study talmud. I however do not fall into groupthink. Paganism is very clear system and unfortunately has entered into Judaism in many ways. If you are talking about Judaism is the sense of ethnicity, then no, I don't want to be rude but I don't give a flying fuck what ethnicity you are of.
If you are talking about Judaism in the sense of the virulently racist teachings endemic to Orthodox Judaism, then yes I hate that, as I hate all bigotry and racism.
I get my sources from many places, but the most frequent would be books on history and intellectual journalism on Palestine, the Israeli apartheid, etc.

Palestine has existed by that name ever since Herodotus in the 5th century BC names that land Palaistinê. On the other hand "ancient Israel" has been proven by Israeli archaeologists to be nothing but a fable.
And as a rational and moral human being, I have an obligation to speak up when crimes against humanity are being committed and the ethnic cleansing and injustice of Israel's apartheid is possibly the greatest moral travesty of our times.

1. The Jewish people have not been a majority in the land of Palestine since well over 3000 years ago, and even then it is questionable since the archaeological evidence does not agree with the fables of the Jewish bible.
2. Since this is fact and there is no debate of it, then why are you even talking to me? You know that the Jewish claim to that land is ridiculous and only connected to religious fables, as does every sane person around the world.

@OrthodoxDarwinist cont... if one appreciates the fact that the british made a complete mess of it by giving israel land which was nearly indefensible, ie the bottom of cliffs etc so not suprising that surrounded by understandably hostile neighbours israel sought to take the land neccessary to defend herself! that was the initial reason for extra land grab, later things just went crazy and the other settlements can never be justified ofcourse, this is a disaster european in making, british helm!
