it annoys me when people comment thinking they know everything about them as if there is a specific reason for this but all dogs do it for different reasons my papa's german shephard even does it which goes to show its not just beardies that do it :)
@lovemybeau not all dogs some do it when they are itchy like mine first did it after rolling in a muddy puddle and my uncles does it when he needs to scratch :)

Bearded Collies do that because they, as a breed, have skin issues. Ours did the same thing and it was because his skin itched.
