  • The song was written by Charles Wesley, brother of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. John was an Anglican Priest. Athough "fathering" the Methodism movement, John remained ordained an Anglican priest.

  • Well yes, it would be. It's a Wesleyan hymn. Methodism was a spinoff of the Anglican church.

  • Well done! As an Anglican, I'm glad to hear there are other Anglican churches that use this hymn....usually only the Methodists use it. Lovely organ!
