Thx for posting. I've always liked Flip Your Wig and Zen Arcade as fas as Husker albums go. And the story behind this particular song (boy finding girl had OD'ed within the dreamscape of the Zen Arcade story) is intriguing as well.

@corpsemunger actually it goes hand in hand, being a fan of something means you'll listen to a lot of it; no matter what it'll end up influencing you, weither you notice it or not. Acknowledging to have been influenced by a band means you're fan of it, no one would acknowledge being influenced by a band they don't like. And to everyone else, OFC the Pixies were influenced by Husker Du, I'm not even sure their would be alternative rock as we know it without them...

@Hubcool367 Perhaps you are right - But to say without Husker Du we wouldn't have The Pixies is a bit far... chances are we would still have the Pixies, just not quite as we know them now :-)

@corpsemunger I agree - but Black Francis has said (and you can confirm this on Wikipedia) that when he first started writing songs for the Pixies, he was listening to nothing but Hüsker Dü, Captain Beefheart, and Iggy Pop.

So Husker Du was a significant influence.
