On games, you don't even use the OS only to double click on the games icon!

I have found though, that OS X is simpler to use and troubleshoot (you probably help others with computers too). Now some main substance - drivers and standards. OS X has always had all drivers built in. Next, Apple uses some nice open technologies like a POSIX system, GCC, OpenCL, CUPS, WebKit, SSH and Apache. As for viruses, there's obviously more risks with a PC, but I would never think of having Mac without any kind of anti-virus installed. Low risk doesn't mean no risk.

@Koboldqueen the problem that PC's tend to get more viruses is that they have a much bigger market share. When Macs get viruses, they respond worse. My Teachers Mac got a Trojan from a rick roll site and the Mac crashed and she lost all her files. My PC got the same trojan from the same site and it just slowed down a bit. I opened McAfee and got rid of it. I think $50 is worth it considering you are not spending a shit load for a Mac.

@OhJeiArh With that considered, I'd go with Windows once you save up the money. Just make sure you back up your important files on an external hard drive. Stay away from shady programs and sites, while using good anti-virus software. I recommend "Kaspersky", however it does cost money. AVG should work just fine. If you have any issues, reformat your hard drive and reinstall the operating system using the cd that came with your hardware. Of course, only do this if you back up your files. ;)

While the Mac versions of those games are probably available, you are going to have PC versions, which won't work unless you install a retail version of Windows. Make sure you check up on that if you want to play those games.
