  • hay wiz kid you couldn't ever go after bush for war crimes with out going after every senator and congress man that voted to go to war in the first place. and if global whamming is an issue why is the ambient global temp going down. do you have conclusive evidence that we are the chose news flash solar flairs temps are on the down at the end of the flair cycle even Mars temps where up. I hope you didn't pay much for your classes you where ripped off. have a nice life in la la land

  • Who is this kid!?!?! With his stance on most things being anti government I truly think I'd stay inside until after dark. I'd knock his punky ass out should I happen upon his truly arrogant carcass...

  • I hear people say he is guilty of war crimes but I have not heard what crimes is he guilty of.. Can you please enlighten me?

One other thing...Clinton went through his impeachment deal for lying under oath not getting a blowjob during work hours from an intern.

Put that in the real world and see how fast he would be fired. Good to be the Pres..

  • the iraq war was a war waged in violation of the UN Charter, the Geneva Conventions and the Nuremburg tribunal (so it violates both international law and US law *because everything thats international law is also on the books US law*) hypothetically if an international court were to get a hold of the bush administration (probably not going to happen) He would be subject to the punishments we gave at the nuremburg trials (death). & i know about clintons hearing (the exaggeration is comedic)...

  • but when we give impeachment hearings for 'lying under oath' and not for 935 lies to the american ppl (according to a recent study done by a non-partisan group) that subsequently lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands if not millions of people (including afghanistan) our priorities are kind of backwards. A politicians (or anybody's) personal life is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Tell me what their policies are, if they succeeded, who was affected not who blew them.

  • but don't missunderstand me Clinton wasn't a good president (a lot of my most loyal subscribers would disagree) i can give a laundry list of terrible decisions he made that subsequently affected a great majority of people in a negative fashion. I just think it's funny that people were and are so gung ho over his private life.

  • *because everything thats international law is also on the books US law* - Are you saying that international law is US law? If you are you have NO clue what you are talking about.

I know it was a violation in the eyes of the UN but what policies did he/our government violate? The UN is a joke.

What jurisdiction do they have over the US. None. Very few countries take the UN seriously when thinking about their sensative national issues.

  • actually yes...Everything that is international law is on the books as US law, it went into effect when we signed the different accords/ treaties...are you insinuating we are a nation above nations and not a nation among nations? (note: im not being faceitious im legitimately curious as to what you believe, simple yes or no is sufficient)

  • No US law is US law and International law is international. The US recognizes international law if that is what you are getting at..

If you are legitimately curious you would know that is not an yes or no answer....

We are the lead natiion among nations and our government will screw that..

  • The UN.. This is the same UN that gave Saddam 17 sanctions that he basically ignored. This is the same UN that basically let Saddam take 10 billion in the oil for food fiasco?

Nuremberg Tibunal -- Since internal law does not impose a penalty for an act which constitutes a crime under international law who would put to death our president. Should we let the Iraqi people? Because I am sure they would rather not have had our country help liberate their 50 million citizens.

  • your understanding of history is pretty skewed...how can you mention Saddam disregarding the UN when you HAD TO KNOW i would mention that the US and Israel are the #1 and 2 violatiors of UN orders...and your talk of liberation leads me to conclude (hopefully hastily, you tell me if i'm wrong) that you're unaware of the myriad of dictators we've both propped up and supported to serve out interests...so if by 'liberate' you mean with all probability 'give iraq a dictator', then yes we will do that

  • I asked what UN policies we violated??? Can you tell me I would like to know.. You are going off track here with me being skewed, US and Israeli relationship with the UN. I said nothing about Israel. You make the point that not many really take the UN that seriously when it comes to that countries sensitive matters.

Yes I did go to high school and completed college and I do watch the history channel and history international.

  • lol how many do you want me to name? type in US UN vetoes into youtube their are multiple comprehensive on the record lists (some directly from our government)...offhand i can say atleast 10 or so condemnations of Israeli attacks on civilians, the Iran Contra affair (most people don't know there was an actual trial and we were literally found guilty but we refused to pay the reparations for destroying nicaragua) and of course Iraq.

  • I would say most people know that the US government has supported leaders with questionable motives to advance their self interests. There are probably over 2 dozen.

  • I would say most people know that the US government has supported leaders with questionable motives to advance their self interests. There are probably over 2 dozen.

Comparing the US and Israel to Saddam and their infractions at the UN is just wrong unless you think the US and Israel are inline with Saddam..

They did set up a government with a pres, prime minister and national assembly and some other stuff I am missing but it could turn into a US back dictatorship. Make that 25!

  • Remember the individuals that were put to death and killed themselves at the Nuremberg Trial were Nazis. It would seem that your are implying that Bush's actions are similar to those of Nazis.

Get rid of all of the political crap and what is happening is these people now have freedom and that does not come easy. You my friend would have been one of those men lead out of the convention hall and shot by Saddam's men. Sad sad video

  • Saddam's men persecuted shiites *and in some cases sunni's* (who presumably he viewed as a threat to his power)...i fit neither of those categories.

  • It seems you are reiterating the crap you hear in your "non-partisan" university. It is actually painfully obvious. Try to find the good things in what America is and does. This is the greatest country on earth. I don't see a ton of people each year flocking to any of the socialist countries which I am sure you love and want to emulate. keep up the passion. You will come around one day.

  • if anything my university is partisan the other way (i attend iona college a christian university *i know ironic b/c im not a christian and clearly not a republican) so you're hasty generalization is pretty funny...The only way to improve a country is to point out its flaws and make it better...would you have said "look at the good" when we had slavery? b/c im sure even back then there was good too, call a spade a spade, be rational and honest. In regards to your assumption about 'socialist...

  • countries'...there are none...their are social democracies (or welfare states) but thats a far cry from socialism...In regards to your comment about immigration i assume like most conservatives you don't acknowledge "push factors" you only think "pull factors" exist (basically this means you think people come to the US because its so fantastic) but many people come because they live in junta's or dictatorships or propped up puppet governments or NAFTA destroyed countries, most (if not all)...

  • of these things being a byproduct of US foreign policy.Read 'Hegemony or survival' by Noam Chomsky if you're interest is at all peaked by what i just said.

  • Noam Chomsky. You said it all there...

  • You are splitting hairs. No I understand there are many people that have to come to the US for work because our foreign policies. I also understand that they are many more coming here because this is the land of opportunity. Look at Obama. Great story there!

  • Learn from the past so we don't repeat it in the future. Yes we know..

Read what you wrote about slavery and tell me that is not ignorant. I am being honest and rational when I say that is the dumbest thing I have read. I said Try to find the good things in what America is and does and you bring up slavery. That is just lame.

  • i think were doing this up in canada

  • im not quite sure i follow...your saying that 66% of republicans in the senate don't believe in global warming and thats why they didn't end up recieving funding for the bill?

  • pbilger is saying that the various constituants of members of congress from their elected districs expressed a distaste for the bill across the board- both democrat and republican, although mostly republican.

You're a political science major and I know your already well aware of this, but ill repeat for others. Congressmen listen to their voters because if they ignore them they stand little chance of being re-elected. Although they tend to vote along party lines, constituant opinions win out.

  • is that so? i read in the paper it was insufficient funding.

  • your right...it would be huge...a huge waste of money. 1.6 billion dollors for a factory that produces what exactly?

  • factory that put carbon emissions back into the ground.

  • I am amazed at how the liberal media has brainwashed this guy. I know I am going to catch a lot of flack here, but I don't care. If you think the price of oil is high now, just wait until a bill like this one passes. Oil will cost over $10 a gallon, and you may not be able to turn your lights on because utility costs will sky-rocket. Don't get me wrong, I am all for cleaning up the environment, but not at all costs. Please be realistic!

  • The bill i discussed is in no way related to the cost of oil dippity.

  • Since you didn't name the bill in your video, I was assuming you were talking about the Lieberman-Warner CISA Bill. This bill would drastically reduce oil imports, which would also reduce our supply. Basic supply vs. demand would imply that gas prices would rise.

You were right about 1 thing though. Our government let us down again. On both sides.

  • Thomas is right, I'm for preserving the environment as a preventative safety measure for the planet as a whole IF it can be done cheaply and with little side effects to our economy... this bill would raise gas prices much higher than they already are today. In short, enough of them realized this and they killed the bill... which will be both bad for the environment and good for our economy. It sucks but it's true.

  • you and thomas both lost me...i've read nothing that says that the bill i discussed would in any way effect the cost of gas...it's a bill for experimenting with storing carbon emissions permanently...how does that have anything to do with the price of gas?

  • I'm not an economist. I have however taken a high school civics course and even I know that if you reduce the SUPPLY of anything, you drastically increase the PRICE of that thing because there is less of it in circulation.

I believe you that you haven't read anything implying a rise in gas prices, that's likely because every article tends to be influenced slightly by the bias and opinions of it's author, and perhaps the article you read carried a bias that didn't want to mention a price-hike.

  • Remember, the guy in the video is just a wet=behind-the-ears kid who has a lot to learn about the real world. It is difficult to keep people like that straight.

It's like the one saying," Quick, hire a kid while they still know it all."

  • good to know you disregard everything that anybody says if they're not the age of your choice...so political science major? NO, NOONNONO dont look at that....oh, he reads everyday and follows the political words closely too? well, he's 20 so clearly he knows nothing. It's comments like yours that genuinely make me laugh and say "does he really believe that? he can't really be that naive".

  • THANK YOU for touching on something that I believe to my core...government & politics is baffling to reasonably minded people.

While it sounds like this particular failure was bipartisan, Republicans do a brilliant job of painting liberals, who are for the most part reasonable & pragmagtic, as nut jobs by manipulating social conservatives with scare tactics on issues like abortion & gay marriage. I wish liberals knew how to combat it. We don't because we don't think that way. It's maddening!

  • This is rediculous there is so much evidence that it might already be to late to reverse Global warming but we can at least stop contributing to it. I saw a show on discovery a few months ago and it said the ice caps are melting 30 times faster then expected. we might not make it out of this century. They way the gov. acts makes me sick they approve 120 billion for Iraq but not 1.6 bill. to help save the planet. Like I say all the time I love my country but hate the ppl in charge

  • If Bush and c/o doesn't get impeached

Think of what another administration is going to get away with..

Condoleezza Rice was in Sweden last week what US media didn't show was the protest from us

    with Afghans & Iraqis.

She was called War criminal and more.

Now US wants 90 other countries to pay the rest and invest in Iraq .

Sweden was one of all countries that new that invading Iraq was -Mission Impossible-

Sweden has taken 40.000 Iraq refugees

    US 700

Most Iraqis hates US now !

  • Nice vid. Damn straight on the impeachment thing. Like you said our heads are not in the place.

  • The problem with most governments at the highest levels grew up their whole lifes being brown nosers, and few accomplished anything on their own unless their millionaire father with the fantastic connections was fixing the game for them.

  • Damn character count!

I also agree with you about the urge from the American people to impeach Clinton, it was irrelevant and appalling considering his amazing deeds while Bush somehow manages to deceive and manipulate the whole country without being questioned in his position. That's just sad.

The bill sure had a point, I hope funding will be better taken care of after next January!

  • thanks for the compliments and your input...i have to admit the 90-95% consensus was pulled out of my ass, i haven't found hard figures on % of scientists convinced, however...your point was correct, 1st of all as far as i've read global warming is undoubtedly natural, but also accelerated by man. Here is something that may be interesting to read, its about 928 scientific studies all with similar a similar consensus.

  • 1st things 1st, I'm glad you posted another video, they're really interesting.

I may not be the most conventional liberal since I ain't convinced global warming's man-made, it could actually be part of a natural cycle. In that spirit, I'd like to see your figures on the scientific community, I appear not to be able to find proper documents about that in French, and I thought that they were pretty divided on that matter. Man however played an undoubtable (spelling? :/) role in its acceleration!
