@mare544 In the 40s and 50s it was common for a song to be recorded by many artists, especially in different styles. Songwriters were more than happy to have multiple artists do a version of their song, because it meant more chances of a hit, and more royalties to the songwriter. Of course there were many cover of Rock and Roll songs,as there weren't many Rock and Roll songwriters yet. Most artists of the 50s ( black or white) redid many old songs in a Rock and Roll Style
This video has them walking on stage and has the first strum of Elvis' guitar. Much better than the other versions I've seen on youtube for that reason.
