  • This is thevery best software avansed, in free sofware XD

  • see if you made the cubes smaller would it not have more of a random effect? like here it can only bend so much.. if you made the cubes smaller would it go more crazy?

  • @MrKamilianuk well they would be able to bend a lot further so yes. you can also set it so that no collision occurs between the constrainted objects in the constraint options

  • great

  • It would be sooooo awesome if we could do this for IK!!!

    rate up if you agree.

  • finally we can do this :D

  • maybe i use this technic for my Spider enemy

  • Cool

  • does it work in the alpha 2 build?

  • @TheFXGuy I can get my previously created file to work, but whenever I start from scratch it crashes or simply doesn't work :( Hopefully it will work when beta comes around!

  • @totter333 Check the Blender website, the beta version is out.

  • @vengefulkitten1 yeah I just downloaded it yesterday. and ragdolls are go! I'll try to have a tut up soon.

  • can you please post a quick tutorial on how you did this? I'm having trouble. I can give my armature the constraint. But I dont know how to apply it in the logic bricks for the game engine

  • Dude from the original ragdoll tutorial vid here.

Awesome that it works in 2,5!

  • Can you please tell me how you got the GE to recognize the constraints?

  • i solved it! i use alpha 1 now btw but should not make any difference in alpha 0 as whel. so set the target of the constraint in cube 1 for example ..and add a constraint in 2e cube ,set target in cube 1 to cube 2..

and in cube 2 the child as to cube 1.

hopefully does copy location rotation work now in alpha 1 ,but i did not tryed that yet.

  • so would i be able to use the "copy location" constraint in the game engine aswell?

  • yes, thats the basic reason that this works. the only reason this hasn't worked in older versions of blender is because you couldn't "copy location" until 2.5

  • Awsome im going add ragdolls as soon as i get it!!!!!!!!!

  • Nevermind, sorry. It's a cool idea, I hope I can try it soon.

  • I downloaded the 2.5 Alpha 0 and since the UI is so drastically different, I'm having some trouble figuring it out. I don't see anywhere to change the physics type. I can see in the video where a Physics menu, but I don't seem to have one anywhere. In the physics buttons I have cloth, smoke, fluid, etc. but no physics.

  • i whas on an other (old) acount previos called GODIN718

i gues we have to wait for alpha 1 hopefully they gonne implent ngons to and fix the hinges and some other bugs that are still in it.

  • u Dbag, y the fuk do we want to c it when we cant even do it, can u help or at least post a tutorial?

  • @Blender3dtutorials1

wow... umm... sorry? lol ill try to post a tut when i get around to it, but i sorta have other things to do rather than please people who don't wanna figure it out themselves. but don't worry im still gunna try and get a tutorial out for you anyway

  • you should now import a human body and make a body ragdoll

  • I'd love to except for one tiny problem... I SUCK at modeling. Do you know of any online resources that i could borrow?

  • well there is this program called makehuman, its open-source. when you run it you can immediately export a human that is premade for you!

  • oh i've heard about that. it sounds really cool but i wasn't sure because I had two questions about it.

(1). are the meshes rigged with armatures after export?

(2). how high/low poly are the meshes?

  • well there was this export file type that had armatures with it. I don't know what exactly high poly is for you becoz high poly is for every person different.

  • haha true. thanks so much i think ill try that out

  • makehuman is a highpoly models..

but verry good models for next gen.

and the deformation would look realy nice.

ragdolls dont seem to work for me in 2.5 nether realtime copy loc and rot

  • I don't know, but he did say its unstable, but it was back in October I have the Alpha version. don't know if its same version of the one his using, but so far it looks good.

  • cool

    but now using unity!!

  • the same happens if i try make a new ragdoll..they just fal apart and or the cubes whil not atached to eachoter

and no realtime copy rot loc even with logic bricks activating it

  • @GODIN718

hey i just downloaded alpha 0 and new have the same problem. ill be looking into it, and when i have a solution ill post a tutorial

  • @totter333 Blender alpha 2 is out and the constraints are working so now can you make a tutorial?

  • yes i did the logic bricks and everything correctly..i noticed that they added a child and target in it..but old ragdolls i made fall apart and just wont atach just hanging in the air

  • you using 2.5 alpha 0 ?

in my version of the blender site cant make a ragdoll or realtime copy location rotation

  • the file does work in 2.5 alpha 0 although i did not origonally create it in that version. the only reason the realtime copy location rotation works in this video is because of the actuators that i'v setup. you have to tell the actuator which bone to enable and which constraint in the bone. the you have to have it Always -> Run Armature. sorry if this is confusing. tell me if it helps or not and I might make a tutorial.

  • i hope you do make a tutorial :-)

  • How do you set rigid body physics on it?!?!? I have been messing around for a few hours searching and I cant find out how! I looked under the pysics tab but all it has is cloth, force fields, collision, fluid, smoke, and soft body. None of them has the rigid body option. Please help. :)

  • that's actually a really good question. took me awhile to figure out myself. there are actually 4 different engines to blender now. so what you have to do is look at the top of the screen where it says "Blender Render" and switch that to "Blender Game." Then the "cloth, force fields, collision etc.." should be what you want. good luck :)

  • tytytytytytytytyty!!!!!!! THanks a ton!! I finally figured out how to do it (sorta, I had ur help, lol) THANKS YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • how do you start the game in blender 2.5?? in the old blender it was the P button!! Please help!!

  • you probebly got the version that dont got the game enginge implented in yet otherwise "p" would start the game engine

  • i tryed to make a normal ragdoll in 2.5

but that did not work the cubes just wont atach to the child,am i missing somthing or is it not fully functional?

  • blend File plase I want to see.

  • I would love to give you one but i'm not sure how to go about uploading it onto a website. do you have any suggestions and/or instructions with a website to do so?

  • haha you'll get the hang of it. It's all just a boat-load of trial and error ; -)

  • wish i was this good with blender lol
