My last reply was a typo. The Alamo WAS built by the Spanish, is what I meant to say. It was an old frontier mission, a church built there to spread Christianity to the natives. It was never meant to be used as a military fort. To put the whole Alamo situation in modern perspective, it would be like 2 companies of volunteers and a few Soldiers holding off against a Brigade for two weeks. If that isn't courage and cojones, I don't know what is.
