  • OMG his last name im so immature!!!!!

  • BATTERY LIFE = 2 OR LESS HOURS. Pretty good laptop tho, ive had it for around a year, quite powerful, but it always FAILS. I must of had to completely wipe my hard drive like 3 times in a year cuz it gives up on life when the hard drive gets full. Other than that id say its a decent laptop, but i wouldnt buy it, i won mine ;)

  • This laptop is expensive for a 13 inch, around same price as mac. and it heats up easily, the built in fans are totally useless. and the touch pad is made of a glassy material and it is soooo hard to slide around. its like dragging ur finger on glass! worst laptop ever

  • hi i just got a hp pavlion dm3 3011nr and I was wondering if i could play games like cod 4 elder scrolls oblivion fallout 3 ect.. thanks

  • @mrfullback39 Hi, it looks like the model of the HP Pavilion dm3 that you purchased has good Intel HD graphics included and you should be able to enjoy some of the games you mention. However, for optimal performance and experience we would recommend discrete (or dedicated) graphics. You may also want to check the system requirements for the games to be sure your configuration will support them. Thanks for your purchase!!

  • @mrfullback39 probably not, since it has 1.20GHz processor, however the 3GB of RAM is nice.

  • I want this laptop so bad, just saving my money right now

  • Is it the dm3-2310so ?

  • this is a great laptop very light i know cause i have it

  • I really like this laptop, but my 1030wm always freezes after a couple of weeks. The easiest way to fix this is to just do a complete system recovery. There seems to be some update issues as well. Is there a way I can keep this laptop running well? I have updated virus protection and everything too, but after a couple of weeks, it just complete becomes a piece of shit and then I have to recover it again!

  • @ShermayneLor I'm not a tech support expert, but a colleague says that if system restore fixes it, it sounds like an issue with something else you're installing.

  • yes i have this laptop and i love it!

  • how gd is the webcam?

  • should i remove the battery (if it's fully charged) when i can run my laptop using the electricity?

i hope my english is understandable

  • @12345652180 HP notebooks charge the battery while the notebook is plugged into an electrical outlet. Once the battery is charged, the notebook begins to use the electric power only and does not keep charging the notebook – you can notice this by hovering over the battery icon on the taskbar. So there is no real need to take out the battery, unless you will be using it plugged in for extended periods of time (like months at a time).

  • @afinnie

thank you so much! the best answer i've received for this question.

  • ham-burger?

  • ham-burger?

  • just bought one of these today. it was like 699 at best buy.

i LOVEEEEE it. its so cool,. and it looks like a macbook :D

  • I'm thinking about getting this laptop for when I go to University. But I'm completely illiterate when it comes to computers. I would be transferring my itunes library to my laptop (around 30GB songs) would this laptop be able to withstand this? Or should I get an external hard-drive even though I have no idea how it works (because my mate told me that was best option).

  • should be fine as long as their is a big hard drive in it

  • I love its design and specs, but I read reviews saying the touchpad is a pain to use. How much is this true?

  • i am using hp pavillion dm3 now. and some rust occured in the bottom part where you rest your hands while typing. what will i do with it?

  • @chiirichan That's odd. Is it still under warranty?

  • @afinnie

yes. but my mom bought this at saudi arabia and i am at phil right now. what do you think i should do?

  • @chiirichan Did you try calling HP? If it is under warranty they should be able to service the notebook.

  • @afinnie okay, i'll try to call them. thanks a lot :)

  • @afinnie

yes. but my mom bought this at saudi arabia and i am at phil right now. what do you think i should do?

  • would this be a good laptop for basic gaming?

  • @cheapoairsofter Yes, it’s definitely a good notebook for basic gaming. FYI, on the HP website we offer a few graphics options to give it an extra kick of power. Thanks for asking!

  • Its beautiful... I just received mine today.

Easily the best I've ever handled... I love it!-)

  • Saying that a 6 cell will get 10 hours of battery life is bull, that's a blatant lie unless the screen is completely turned off and then what's the point? :|

  • i have it, it's perfect and very light.

  • Can i ask something? I noticed that when i took out the battery, there is a sim card slot. Can you tell me what is that for? Thx

  • One big question does it have a dvd rom? lol

  • @onebay2007 no it doesn't have a cd/dvd rom because it's a super thin compact laptop

  • i have tht laptop

  • Great vid. i love how its got an apple like keyboard its very nice looking =]

  • its easy get a optical drive for this installed and here u go anytime u need to burn cd just use the optical drive ... if not just use your desktop and convert the cd to files for this laptop and use daemon software to run the iso or the file for this ... congratulation you have successfully maintain the weight of 1.9kg all the while

  • Great laptop. I have had one for 4 months now. Love it.

  • @edpadden Thanks for the positive feedback! Glad you like it!

  • This notebook is adorable. I got it few weeks ago. I love it. It's perfect! :-)

  • @HuskyMarina Great news! Thanks for the comment!

  • my battery life on this laptop is slowly getting a lot a lot shorter

  • @geovany3000 Have you checked the battery information center on the HP website? You may find some helpful tips there.

  • i haz one....i travel a lot, and it has gone trough lots of abuse, the thing speaks for itself

  • i like this notebook

  • dont have cd :( ,but is very pretty,i need a cd drive, the HP DV4 is other option...

  • This notebook is adorable! I want it!

  • it doesn't have a c.d drive ?

  • i got this computer, i love it!

  • was leaning towards getting this for months.. bought the alienware m11x in the end..

  • Does it have a CD Drive?

  • @SonicGamer1991 no, but you can buy an external for 20-30 bucks online

  • @SonicGamer1991 can any brand of external optical drive be compatible with this laptop?

  • @xxwhoelse Yes, as long as it's a USB optical drive.

  • If it only had a lighted keyboard I would consider it.

  • cant wait to get it

  • I wonder how he can hold it like that and not drop it haha.

  • I love my new toy/utility. It's light, keyboard feels sleek. The webcam effects are fun. Windows 7 is sweet. Great performance, fantastic resolution and comfortable design. Diggin the extended battery life. Overall, I'm very impressed with this device.

  • Hey guys

I was wondering, if this DM3 have a bluetooth or not. Also if it is of any good to be used with Adobe Master Collection package of softwares and thanks in advance.

  • if i have the money im going to buy me one of these =D

n i also wonder how many times this guy dropped that laptop whilst moving his hands around like that

  • Is the laptop prone to overheating? If you own a dm3, can you please list specs and if overheating is a bother?

    Thanks!

  • the longest ive used mine so far is about 5 hours surfing hte net on battery power.. it did get warm but didnt feel hot.. and the system ran stable.

  • i dont like to brag about my dm3 but, ok im lieing, i love talking about this computer, its very quick running every ap. i want it to, its got great battery life, its very thin and light, (~4lbs i think?) great video memory compared to ANY laptop at this price. it feels very sturdy and looks expensive, led's on toggle keys such as cap lock, num lock, mute button, and being able to turn off the touchpad is very nice as sometimes i tend to bump it while typing relocating the curser...

  • I must agree. I am an IT person by trade; so to be honest I wasn't expecting much. But as I sat there creating my recovery disks WHILE uninstalling the bloatware with absolutely no hiccups, I realized that the performance is rather nice.

  • hey you guys here... the ones who have this computer... do you think its a good computer? is it fast? light? easy to use? im concidering this computer.

  • the computer is light, and feels quick. I went ahead and upgraded its 4gb to 8gb and using windows 7 64 bit.. runs real sweet! I have the AMD version

  • Wow, I like the keyboard, so classy

  • can dm3 play tf2?

  • you know, i havent tryed tf2 yet, but i have played many other games on it, urt2004 plays perfectly @ max settings, nfs2 underground plays perfect at almost max settings (have to turn off some of the lighting effects) quake4 plays perfect @ max settings, i dont see why it wouldnt be able to play tf2, but hey ill check it out and get back to you,

  • I just order mine today, cant wait for it to come in. By the way i did the reasearch for about two-weeks on laptops and this is one of the best for the price and with 4gs of ram and running windows 7. And its lightweight.

  • I also ordered one and will be compare it to a Dv4i with a Core i5 430m. That DV4i has mediocre build quality that made me file an RMA. If the DM3 is not too slow, I'll definitely keep it and use it for years.

  • Description:Primary Display Driver

    Manufacturer:@oem2.inf,%ati%;ATI Technologies Inc.

    Name:ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

    Total Local Video Memory:512 MB

    Total Local Texture Memory:512 MB

    Total AGP Memory:1.62 GB

the video card is also NICE!! not like that shitty 4500GMA chipset from intel most laptops come with...

  • I've got this one yesterday.. And it's so gorgeous

  • Hi I have a question this Hp have DVD

  • @felype24 No optical drive.

  • There is an optional external DVD drive.

  • i have just brought one of theese 2 days ago they are absoluty amazing

    !

  • I'm buying a DM3-1030, is it also aluminum finished?

  • just got this and its reaaly nice...it's a darker aluminum than I remember...def worth the price. It is a little on the heavy side for a portable ....a 11 or 12 inch wide would of been better.

  • just got my HP DM3 1060eo, it's awesome.

  • i ordered mine at weekend. After researching the market I wanted either the Dell Studio 1555 or the vaio vgn nw11s, when I was just about to order I found the review of this new thing... Exactly what I was looking for! I can go to the university and take my notes with it much easier as with the other two, still can I play movies at home (speakers got a good review) and the battery is just great! it also comes with W7, what do you want more? Mac? of course they are the best ones: you got 1500Eur?

  • @stephenr80

You are totally right. MACs are expensive, overly hyped, and hard to use.

  • i saw this at the store and there's something about it where it feels cheap and it feels big. The dv2 12" was the perfect size and weigh. It sad they discontinued the dv2.

  • You guys are nuts, comparing this with the macbook. You get a mac for OSX, and for those who're going to bring up OSX86, well, let's just say I've done it and its not worth the effort.

Otherwise, at this price the DM3 is a steal. Its sounds like a good machine but please don't compare apples with oranges.

  • Too bad most ppl get a mac for the looks. Only a small group really need to run mac osx.

At my university, you need to have i.e. browser for certain applications, like live stream videos of lectures etc. All the mac owners run windows 7 at my university so, thats just the way it is.

Compatibility with printers is also a nightmare with the mac.. so...

  • @DjiEnn I say MAC computers sucks and are overly hyped. Everything a MAC can do can be done on a PC. Many things that PC can do can't be performed on a MAC.

I also wonder why does Apple emphasizes MAC's physical appearance and build quality all the time? It is because that OSX is really an inferior OS. It's very unintuitive and hard to use. Any one can try a MAC at a retail store and know what I am talking about.

  • @CHARLIETWW

    i disagree.

My sister and uncle (both are computer noobs, big time) has a mac. They use it often to do office work, surfing and watching videos. No need to help them with anything at all.

Give them a windows notebook and they will bug me at least 1 time every month for troubleshooting.

  • I use OSX at work professionally. A lot of startups in the Bay Area also do so. Try developing apps for the iPhone on Windows?Just because you don't know how to use OSX doesn't mean it sucks. Besides, judging something based on your few minutes of hands-on is unfair. Not saying OSX is better than Windows. I've developed on the Mac, Windows, and different variations of linux. All have their strengths and their weakness.

  • I just bought this very computer. I am so excited. I can not wait to receive it. I put a lo-Jack in because my last one was stolen. I want to thank HP for making this possible. I am a loyal customer. I have always had the greatest in customer support. They highly back their products. This is a Christmas present to me from me. Happy holidays. Please consider HP for all your computer needs.

  • I wanted a macbook, but I think I'll get this instead. It's a lot cheaper, looks a bit more appealing (not as clean cut), and has much more hard drive.. for half the price. Quality of build might be different.

  • it's @ 2x better than the macbook tho half the price. (name is no something worth paying for)

  • I wouldn't quite say that. Apple has a reputation for being green and innovative, as well as hip and modern. Name might not be something worth paying for, but if it's name has a reputation for things that you are attracted to, it is. DM3 is still a better deal though.

  • it's true apple lives p to it's reputation.tho i'm not that rich to go @ giving 500$ for free :P

  • I doubt anybody can. lol

  • the point is almost everyone would prefer this over an apple

  • Hello people I putting my comments to help you decide.

I bought this computer 3 weeks ago, have a good performance also, for gaming in HDMI is perfect, runs PES2010 without problems.

The only thing is the battery life is just approx. 3 to 4 hours depends how you used the backlight on the screen.

    unless that everytihng is perfect.

    Good Choice

  • Is 1.6 Ghz good for gaming like Combat arms??

    (This comp is 1.6 ghz)

  • In general, if you are looking for a notebook to do a lot of gaming we would recommend the HP Pavilion dv6 with a quad core processor and discrete graphics. If you just want to do some general gaming (not a lot of first person shooter games) and still require a very mobile system you might want to consider adding the discrete graphics option on the DM3 or moving over to the HP Envy 15. Thanks!

  • Hmm Ill think about it!

    Thanks!

  • umm i HIGHLY recommened staying away from this laptop for any games .....

its really not meant for it

  • it's true.but when ure looking for portability an d still some performance this thing is wht u would be looking for.

  • no not really. 1.6 is not very powerful

  • combat arms is a quite heavy game and depends mostly on ure internet (for nio lag) and gpu(video card) if ure gonna buy this anything that is gma 4500,ate hd 3200 or nvidia can handle it tho it wont be that badass

  • It works just fine on a DV4, which has lower specs.

  • would it get short battery life if i customized it with the 2.26ghz processor?

  • @dude28901 When I tried to customized it, there was no option higher than 1.6 Ghz processing speed :(

  • thats with the dm3z, not the dm3t. the dm3z has AMD processors and the dm3t has intel

  • ok well thank you for posting this. i was not sure if i wanted to get this cause i did not see it except in pics. but thank you u reasured me. thank you and for $600 its not bad

  • shitty track pad...too much finger drag

  • ordered mine today will be here tuesday.. 4 gig ram/ 500 gig HD AMD NeoX2, with the ATI graphics, also external Lightscribe DVD burner

  • Thinkin of gettin one...how much did you pay for yours??

  • I think this is a powerful machine.

I'm going to get mine in bestbuy this week.! sweeeet.
