  • Great song and excellent work! This song has beauty and happiness NOT found in Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu and though it is an easier song to learn, it stands alone as a classic to be loved and enjoyed - as you do!

  • Being called a copycat of Horowitz can only be a compliment :)

    BTW which Clavinova is that?

  • This is a copy of Horowitz... It was his artistic interpretation, not a belief in what it sounded like originally.

    Why not your own?

I might be slightly hypocritical, because mine sounds perhaps too similar to Brendel's.

  • How could it be copy of Horowitz?

Horowitz liked music, this guy likes himself without carrying about the music. So many huge things that are not in the score, many times wrong text, and you call it a copy of Horowitz? God will forgive you

  • Fantastic :)

  • beautiful piece, my dream is fantasie impromptu as well.

Wish you the best of luck with it, it's my all time fav :)

  • Really quite good. You should pay more attention to the polyphony, and make sure to make all the other voices audible and shaped. That's really the hardest part. But congratulations on the great voicing, and taming the middle voices.

  • this is my favorite peace and I am playing that peace too.

  • Thanks blockjoseph123!

If you wanna hear how this piece really should sound then search for "Horowitz in Vienna". In my opinion his tempo is perfect....

  • NOOOOOOO!!! YOU LIKED THE HOROWITZ'S VERSION!!!!????

That version was crap for a professional. Don't get me wrong. Horowitz's Rachmaninoff gets tears in my eyes, its just so beautiful.

    He was aweful at Schubert.

Brendel plays this piece the best. That one might have made me shed a tear at one point. And Brendel is AWEFUL at Rach and Liszt, for a professional!

Just because someone is great doesn't mean they're great at a particular composer!!!!

  • I was immature 6 months ago. Wow... Jesus.

  • This is a great piece! Great job! Gives me shivers, it is so beautiful. If you are looking for tips, do a search on Chuan Chang Piano. He has a free pdf of practice technique, and he focuses on Chopin Fantasie Impromptu. Go for it!!

  • Thanks for the pointer..just printing "Chuan Chang Piano" off now, looks great!

  • Absolutely beautiful. I learnt of this piece after watching the movie Gattaca, now love it so much. Go Schubert!!

  • I hate E-Pianos it would sound much better if it's played on a steinway ;)

  • i liked it a lot, and by the way not everyone can afford a steinway grand lol

  • It wasnt loud as such, just a bit close to the volume of the melody occasionally ^^

  • Really expressive and great tone! The only real thing I can think of to watch out for is the accompaniment becoming a bit too loud in places, but other than that, this is probably the best non-professional version I've heard on YouTube :)

  • thx for the tips and comments, you are not the first to mention the loud accompaniment :)

  • Yeah isn´t it? I´m really amazed! Reminds me of the film Shine (with Geoffrey Rush portraying pianist David Helfgott.) What if someone gave this guy a Steinway? (not even Horowitz would make THIS instrument sound good...)

  • >What if someone gave this guy a Steinway?

    Any offers?
