@CountJoe1 I'm not too sure whether or not I like the 'hunchback' daleks. Everything else about them looks tons better, except for that!! I hope their standard daleks a little more like the original...
Well Moffat didnt design the daleks, he's the head writer and producer not the designer. and Mark Gatiss (the writer for victory) probably only described the daleks in the script as colour-coded rather than brightly coloured doll-like figures.
the blame should be going towards the head designer, who's name alludes me.
XD tbf when Davies was the head writer i blamed him for a few things. but looking bak i now only blame him for making the same template for every Tennant story which was somewhere along the lines of
"I'm a time lord"
"I dont know what one is but I'll go with it"
"I'm the last of the time lords too"
"oh dear"
"I still have my sonic screwdriver that I can use for anything thanks to new special efftects"
@Shad0wM0nk Totally agree! Everytime she appears it lessens the impact of her previous departure. She's like a band that announces its break-up, plays a 'final' show and then keeps coming back in reunion tours

At 0:04 you can see the interior of the TARDIS. Still a little too dark for my liking but it's better, but then again anything would have been after the last one.
The sight of a 'Tommy Dalek' is surely one of the most intriguing images ever to appear in Doctor Who - as bizarre as the auton dummies in Spearhead from Space and surely as iconic.

I am delighted that Russel T Gayvis and that shouting tacky over-acting idiot Tennant have gone. Hopefully now the series will be less dumbed down and aimed at an audience of Hollyoaks loving retards. However, this guy is fat too young for such a role...he's just a kid. Maybe in 10 years he'd have been a good choice, but for now by casting him all the BBC have suceeded to do is pander to the illiterate style-over-substance brigade.
@CaptainNuge Yes. They're purportedly fighting for the British (hah. not!). The daleks for this episode are all coloured like WW2 vehicles. sweet it looks like the doctor took amy to parraell earth and they saw cybermen again and also weird homemade british daleks and RAF vs Dalek mothership and i thought series 5 would be rubbish!!!
*applauds Mofffat* Oh, well done, sir! In a 30 second trailer, you've included two scenes which, out of context, you *knew* would get the fans whipping themselves up into a frenzy, namely Amy kissing the Doctor and the Doctor firing a gun. You new exactly what you were doing, didn't you? ;)
Can I jst say to everyone that we don't know what he is doing with that gun. He could disabling a defence system or activating a microwave oven from long distance; the point is, we can't say theve ruined the pacifist franchise from a five second clip.
@Hbaranov It's interesting, however, that you didn't have the courage to concede the point to me, the person that you insulted, though you said you would. Regardless, I never "derided or abused" you in any way. This despite the fact that you did to me what you so smugly chide others for, such as your uncalled for smear on mentally challenged people by calling them "tards" and insinuating that I am one. Maybe you should take your own advice and then see how much better You Tube becomes.
the doctor has used guns before as people say the reason ten didnt use a ggun till he was forced too was because of the horrors war had caued to him and the planets he saves exibit a the time war destoyed his people ergo he wont become like the rest of his RACE who were insane how did people not get this
Yeah the doctor has a gun who cares, he used one in the classic series, and anyway, i dont see the fuss about. If you listen to what hes saying then you'll hear hes talking about the trap they're in when he has the gun, so its probably just to get out of the trap!! Jees, people make such a fuss. Any way, the new series looks awesome!!
ONe thing I've noticed in both trailers is that the doctor's new sonic screwdriver appears to be operated from the end furthest from the light... and the new TARDIS interior looks awesome XD
I'm still not sure I like Matt Smith but, hey, I didn't like Tennant when he started :P
Hey, why are we fighting over whether he's a pacifist or not? Does that seem a little wrong to anyone? Would the Doctor want us fighting like this? Isn't he always trying to make PEACE between people and races?
If you feel the series is being "ruined," so to speak, go away, be quiet, and leave the rest of us to watch in peace. Please.
@IzDiaries I comment because I'm sick and tired of the people that are ripping on Matt Smith and the new series before they've seen a single episode. I'm sick of people saying that Smith sucks for doing the same things that David Tennant did. I'm sick of people posting incorrect information about a show that I've faithfully watched for 29 years. I'm sick of people trying to ruin what should be a very exciting time for a Doctor Who fan. That's why I have and will continue to post.
the doctor has used a guin all the time before, you're clearly not a fan, ebcause you're one of those morons who keeps posting "O NO HE HAS A GUN, IMMA GO PEE MY PANTS AND CRY" even though, EVERY doctor has used a gun, 10 just didnt pull the trigger on a person, but previous doctors have blown people's heads off.
No the tenth doctor was much more pacifistic than his previous selfs. Every time he regenerates and changes almost completely. Its not like hes going to be shooting someone dead. Hes obviously using the gun to get out of a trap if you listen to his spech. Hes taking a wepon designed to kill and using it as a tool to save people. Realy clever actually.

That was just Tennant. Each Doctor has a different quirk in his personality, since he's essentially a different person. Besides, it seems as if he's shooting out the lights in that scene rather than shooting AT someone/something. But most Doctors [1-9] weren't reluctant to result to a slightly violent solution if there was no other choice. Moffat [the new writer] said he wanted the new series to connect to the old more, so that it's all connected.
Hbaranov, it was "strongly established"£ by a head writer that ISNT IN FUCKING CHARGE ANYMORE. Doctor Who does NOT belong to Russel T Davies you fucking idiot.
..Pacifisit? Oh yes, like what The Doctor did to the "Family of Blood" was PASSIVE...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
He's not even firing that gun at a PERSON. You're going to feel humiliated when you see it in context. Thicko.
@Hbraranov have not watched the 2- doctors? when things got tough they had to use violence, they had no choice; hell the sixth even used a gun to commit genocide. know your who history, fuckwad.
@Hbaranov Did you happen to miss the fact that Tennant fired a gun in HIS LAST EPISODE,or that EVERY Doctor has used a gun at some point, even killing (Doctors 2,3,4,5,6 for example)?
The only thing that's "messing up the franchise" are new series fans who simply don't know the show. Your comment about the "new reboot" is also wrong as both CE and DT used guns and were as violent as any other Doctor. Try actually watching an episode before you judge an entire series based on a 30 sec trailer.
@Hbaranov Nice response. Instead of engaging in an intelligent debate you result to insults. Good, that'll make your point. It's not that you won't respond anymore, it's that you can't. Facts are facts. Every Doctor has used guns, including Tennant. He shot one in the very last episode. Period.
Finally, an opinion based on fallacious arguments and incorrect facts is not an opinion, it's ignorance. So, you're right, if you choose to live in ignoance...that's your problem.
@Hbaranov OK, will do. I've had to do this before to proove nay-sayers like you wrong so just give me a few minutes to find the links and I'll post some of them. Obviously, I'm not going to post all the examples of gun use as there were so many but I'll give you a couple of examples from different Doctors. I would also be happy to send you my 2 page list of examples so you can look up the rest on your own.
oh shut the fuck up. no wants to hear your rant. In my eyes Smith definately has the chance to GREATER than tennant, and i hope he does. it would serve haters like you right.
okay geez. i said nothing about smith. if anything i think he will do awesome. just dont overeact when somebody makes a comment you disagree with. oh by the way, you have good taste in tv
if you watched the trailer, you see a dalek ship arming its weaponry and attacking spitfires, so there still is some evil in the daleks, maybe this one got reprogrammed or is doing it as a distraction...
@LichKingBoi maybe its kind of like when davros made the daleks, someone made them, removing all emotion and making them hate everything thats not one of them, and expects them to worship him, but eradicate them as they are 'impure'. Classic genesis of the daleks.
@Hbaranov same and if u pause and look at how dull the darlek has been put 2gether u can c y i think this wont last long ... but i want 2 c that part where that cyberman only has 1 arm lololololol
sORRY, Hbaranov, but you're officially an idiot. The Doctor's used guns before and has commited murder in the older series. Get an education on Doctor Who. The only thing "messed up" is your fickle short-term following of this show.
you retard, the doctor has used guns many times, and so what if he is? you know what, i agree with TacoBadger1 go pee yourself and cry, maybe even cut yourself to the fact that the doctors doing something he's done before but you've never seen
@xJx25 well i can explain that in episode 3 of series 5 winstone churchel takes on the daleks to help fight the nazis thats why they have the cammo on them and if you look closer you can see the union jack under the eyepirce
@xJx25 If you want a hint as to the nature of the dalek, look right under the eyestalk. Pause the video if you need to.
I was honestly worried they were going to change the eyestalk design when they showed the first trailer. I like what they've done with the blue glowing eyes on the Daleks since 2005 and whatever the first trailer showing was apparently a busted eye stalk which is why it looked weird. This one that is intact looks right.
I suppose they could be Messerschmitts attacking the Dalek ship as the Daleks are posing as British weapons. Though maybe at this point the Daleks have turned and ol' Churchill sends the RAF against them, maybe they've been modified using future tech to be space worthy........
Actually a pacifist can use violence when they deem it absolutely necessary - a pacifist who harms another in self-defense is still a pacifist. They just prefer it as a last resort. The Doctor in all his incarnations has preferred non-violent solutions, but has never - NEVER - shied away from violence when it's needed. He's killed entire worlds before.
@Gosu117 He's not, nor has he even been a pacifist. Eccleston used a gun and so did Tennant. That's all without talking about the other people/creatures Tennant killed during his 5 years. (Sycorax leader, Racconoss Queen and children, people of Pompeii, Timelords, etc.) The Doctor clearly would rather solve a problem without violence...but will if necessary. ALL Doctors feel that way. Prefer a pacifist all you want, that's not who he is. Sorry.
He's always talking about peace because the Tenth Doctor was a pacifist...that doesnt mean you don't go back on your word at some future point. A christian can preach God for as long as he or she can until too much shit happens and they become agnostic.
@Gosu117Right, he only uses violence when necessary. How do you know that Smith isn't using the gun/punching because it's "absolutely necessary"? You don't. So why judge until you have actually seen WHY he's doing those things? After all, Smith is doing NOTHING that al other Doctors haven't done at some point and don't tell me the Doctor used guns "rarely". I have a 2 page list of examples of the Doctor using guns. It's more than you think regardless of what DT said. He's not the only Doc.
@Gosu117 cont. A pacifist is someone who NEVER uses violence under any circumstances. Using my previously stated examples, it is proven(which you already admitted) that the Doctor DOES use violence when necessary. Thus, he is not a pacifist regardless of how much he talks about peace. Talks and actions are two different things. I can't stand when people judge Matt Smith (based on a 30 sec trailer without context) for doing the SAME things DT did. It's a double standard and it's not right.
@Gosu117 Well, I didn't cut and paste a definition from the internet but that's what my definition means too. You're splitting hairs. Even using your definition, my points sitll stand. The Doctor does use violence and has fought in wars to "settle disputes" and "gain advantage."
@Gosu117 That IS his own advantage...to save lives. Listen, I'm not criticizing the Doctor for what he does. In fact, I find him more heroic because he is willing to fight, even kill evil for the greater good. In my opinion, one who cannot make a tough decision, one who refuses to fight/kill to protect some ideal while other good people suffer and die is NOT something to respect. Sometimes war is necessary. Ask the Jews or any country occupied by the Nazis during WWII about that.
@Gosu117 Peace should always be the 1st option but it is not always possible. The Doctor understands this and that's how the character behaves. You may disagree with that mindset and that's fine. What you can't disagree with is that the Doctor is NOT a pacifist. You cant ignore the actions of the character so it fits what YOU think he should be. To judge Smith (based on a 47 sec trailer) differently for doing the same things DT did is unfair.
@Gosu117 It's a valid comparison therefore Godwin's law is a moot point. Here's a quote from your favorite place Wikipedia: Godwin's Law itself can be abused, as a distraction, diversion or even censorship, that fallaciously miscasts an opponent's argument as hyperbole, especially if the comparisons made by the argument are actually appropriate"... "Godwin's Law is often misused to ridicule even valid comparisons" That's what you just did. Congratulations.
pacifism" is a pretty generic term that has quite a few interpretations. One of which, the most common, is "opposition to violence under any circumstance, even defence of self and others." (Wikipedia) By that definition, he is NOT a pacifist.
Your example of Poison Sky is fine, except he was willing to kill all Sontarans.
What about Doctor 4 killing the Sontarans with the D-mat gun? What about 5 and 6 killing cybermen with guns? I have many more examples if you want.
However it wouldn't be the same if Rose came back now.
She belongs with the 10th Doctor. <3

It'd be so much better without people like you jumping off the grand ol' cliff of conclusions in the first place.

the doctor has used guns before as people say the reason ten didnt use a ggun till he was forced too was because of the horrors war had caued to him and the planets he saves exibit a the time war destoyed his people ergo he wont become like the rest of his RACE who were insane how did people not get this

Wow this is going to be a great series. Weeping angels, cybermen, daleks I can can't wait.

SuperJayBEE09 1 year ago
ONe thing I've noticed in both trailers is that the doctor's new sonic screwdriver appears to be operated from the end furthest from the light... and the new TARDIS interior looks awesome XD
I'm still not sure I like Matt Smith but, hey, I didn't like Tennant when he started :P
20thCenturyPlatypus 1 year ago
Hey, why are we fighting over whether he's a pacifist or not? Does that seem a little wrong to anyone? Would the Doctor want us fighting like this? Isn't he always trying to make PEACE between people and races?
If you feel the series is being "ruined," so to speak, go away, be quiet, and leave the rest of us to watch in peace. Please.
IzDiaries 1 year ago
@IzDiaries I comment because I'm sick and tired of the people that are ripping on Matt Smith and the new series before they've seen a single episode. I'm sick of people saying that Smith sucks for doing the same things that David Tennant did. I'm sick of people posting incorrect information about a show that I've faithfully watched for 29 years. I'm sick of people trying to ruin what should be a very exciting time for a Doctor Who fan. That's why I have and will continue to post.

Flufferz626 1 year ago
Hbaranov, it was "strongly established"£ by a head writer that ISNT IN FUCKING CHARGE ANYMORE. Doctor Who does NOT belong to Russel T Davies you fucking idiot.
..Pacifisit? Oh yes, like what The Doctor did to the "Family of Blood" was PASSIVE...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
He's not even firing that gun at a PERSON. You're going to feel humiliated when you see it in context. Thicko.

So, you're right, if you choose to live in ignoance...that's your problem.

if you watched the trailer, you see a dalek ship arming its weaponry and attacking spitfires, so there still is some evil in the daleks, maybe this one got reprogrammed or is doing it as a distraction...

@LichKingBoi maybe its kind of like when davros made the daleks, someone made them, removing all emotion and making them hate everything thats not one of them, and expects them to worship him, but eradicate them as they are 'impure'. Classic genesis of the daleks.

Would it be interesting in a wibbley wobbley timey wimey fashion if one of the Daleks in the WW2 episode was the same which had
"been on earth for over 50 years sold at private auction moving from one collection to another"
and eventually ended up in van Statten's museum with the Ninth Doctor.

@xJx25 well i can explain that in episode 3 of series 5 winstone churchel takes on the daleks to help fight the nazis thats why they have the cammo on them and if you look closer you can see the union jack under the eyepirce
loggy49 1 year ago
@xJx25 If you want a hint as to the nature of the dalek, look right under the eyestalk. Pause the video if you need to.
I was honestly worried they were going to change the eyestalk design when they showed the first trailer. I like what they've done with the blue glowing eyes on the Daleks since 2005 and whatever the first trailer showing was apparently a busted eye stalk which is why it looked weird. This one that is intact looks right.
I'm also glad they extended the "ears" in 2005.

Why is the Doctor using a gun?! That is so damn wrong.

the Doctor has always used guns.
You've only seen 9/10.
other doctors have used guns.
TacoBadger1 1 year ago 6
@TacoBadger1 I prefer him as a pacifist.
Gosu117 1 year ago
@Gosu117 He's not, nor has he even been a pacifist. Eccleston used a gun and so did Tennant. That's all without talking about the other people/creatures Tennant killed during his 5 years. (Sycorax leader, Racconoss Queen and children, people of Pompeii, Timelords, etc.) The Doctor clearly would rather solve a problem without violence...but will if necessary. ALL Doctors feel that way. Prefer a pacifist all you want, that's not who he is. Sorry.
Albs1414 1 year ago
@Albs1414 But he's always talking about peace, and only using violence when absolutely necessary.
Plus he always bitches whenever anyone has a gun even though he uses them (very rarely)
Gosu117 1 year ago
He's always talking about peace because the Tenth Doctor was a pacifist...that doesnt mean you don't go back on your word at some future point. A christian can preach God for as long as he or she can until too much shit happens and they become agnostic.
heyarnoldsknee 1 year ago
@heyarnoldsknee That's fair enough... but if he just turns into another John Mcclain, then Doctor who is going to be shit.
Gosu117 1 year ago
@Gosu117Right, he only uses violence when necessary. How do you know that Smith isn't using the gun/punching because it's "absolutely necessary"? You don't. So why judge until you have actually seen WHY he's doing those things? After all, Smith is doing NOTHING that al other Doctors haven't done at some point and don't tell me the Doctor used guns "rarely". I have a 2 page list of examples of the Doctor using guns. It's more than you think regardless of what DT said. He's not the only Doc.
Albs1414 1 year ago
@Gosu117 cont. A pacifist is someone who NEVER uses violence under any circumstances. Using my previously stated examples, it is proven(which you already admitted) that the Doctor DOES use violence when necessary. Thus, he is not a pacifist regardless of how much he talks about peace. Talks and actions are two different things. I can't stand when people judge Matt Smith (based on a 30 sec trailer without context) for doing the SAME things DT did. It's a double standard and it's not right.
Albs1414 1 year ago
@Albs1414 "Pacifism is the opposition to war or violence as a means of settling disputes or gaining advantage."
So you are wrong on the pacifism front.
You are however right everywhere else.
Gosu117 1 year ago
@Gosu117 Well, I didn't cut and paste a definition from the internet but that's what my definition means too. You're splitting hairs. Even using your definition, my points sitll stand. The Doctor does use violence and has fought in wars to "settle disputes" and "gain advantage."
Albs1414 1 year ago
@Albs1414 Not really he usually does it to save lives.
Not for his own advantage.
Gosu117 1 year ago
@Gosu117 That IS his own advantage...to save lives. Listen, I'm not criticizing the Doctor for what he does. In fact, I find him more heroic because he is willing to fight, even kill evil for the greater good. In my opinion, one who cannot make a tough decision, one who refuses to fight/kill to protect some ideal while other good people suffer and die is NOT something to respect. Sometimes war is necessary. Ask the Jews or any country occupied by the Nazis during WWII about that.
Albs1414 1 year ago
@Gosu117 Peace should always be the 1st option but it is not always possible. The Doctor understands this and that's how the character behaves. You may disagree with that mindset and that's fine. What you can't disagree with is that the Doctor is NOT a pacifist. You cant ignore the actions of the character so it fits what YOU think he should be. To judge Smith (based on a 47 sec trailer) differently for doing the same things DT did is unfair.
Albs1414 1 year ago
@Albs1414 Godwins law. /sigh
I think he is a pacifist.
What about in "The Poison Sky" when instead of just blowing up the Sontarans he goes up to give them a chance?
He only uses violence as a last resort and that is pacifism.
Gosu117 1 year ago
