  • You could totally do a Military Two Step to this...or a Canadian Barn Dance! :) I love it! It's a beautiful language to listen to!

  • My favourite scottish gaelic song ever. I wish to God I could speak this language-it's so beautiful and so good for this genre of music.

  • Just beautiful!

  • 's e a' bhana ghoistidh agamsa a' bha a' toirt an clach air ais dhan tìr againne.

tha mi 'n dòchas gum faiceadh i saorsa an dùthaich seo fhathast!

  • They're not singing about Edward I's theft of the stone at all!

  • @seufoi wrong theft, it was stolen twice.

it was stolen back in the 1950's

Edward stole the stone in the 13th century

  • People interested in the history and struggle for the Scottish people should watch this series "Diomhair" it is on youtube in parts, it tells the story of the reclaiming of the stone of destiny from a young student who actually participated in it.

  • brilliant

  • This is one of the best songs I've heard of all time. Manrán do such a good version of it. Brilliant!

  • @sandermacleod Couldn't agree more!

  • Lol, Scone of Stone :3

  • Are they talking about the Stone of Destiny? one of the honours of Scotland, isn't it?

  • @practicechanter yeah they are. Specifically they are talking about it's theft.

  • @tj4234 ok, thank you!

Does the movie "The Stone of Destiny" is a true storry? do you recommend it?

    cheers

  • @practicechanter yes it is a true story. In fact if memory serves the people involved were part of the covenanters. Covenanters keep appearing in Scottish History even in modern times. So it was partly a religious statement as well as a political one I believe.

It is a good film yes.

  • @tj4234 great, thank you for this!
