@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR Depending upon the auto manufacturer, some Airbag units have an auxiliary power source that is connected to the diagnostic unit or a separate unit entirely. This allows for the Airbag to deploy if the battery is damaged during a collision. Check your owner's manual or ask your dealer.
@thelifeaquatica That was my main concern about certain vehicles. I'll call the dealership right away and find out if I have that on the car I purchased. Thank you for your advice!
@Pagelos no they don't allow it because they want to see the true results..anyway even with city-safety on..it wouldn't be much of a help because it breaks the car down only from 35km/h or so...
@90Ming90 No it always breaks the car down no mater what the speed is. From 35km/h it will stop the car completey, and at any other speed it will just slow the car down before impact.
I did realize after a while that since city safetey isn't standard in the car than they obviously can't have it active durning a crash test...
fuck this is one fucking nice car

so what if the car is off and it's rolling down hill. Then it hit a wall or a tree. Will the airbags deploy?

Does anyone know if they let the Volvo use its city-safetey breaking in crashtests to reduce the impact speed? Like in NCAP.
Pagelos 1 year ago
@Pagelos I doubt that.
