  • Adjust your EQ, man!

  • Riff @ 0:42 sounds almost identical to one in Caught in a Web by Dream Theater about midway through.

  • @thehuntz1 whoa... didn't notice that lol it is pretty close. i haven't heard that song since i was 17, but i remember loving it back then. guess it stuck with me lol

  • Lol idk about scale lengths but I want one of these in a normal scale

  • Oh man thatt 30 inch scale looks terrible

  • @alexxdeadly its actually the 28.6something something scale length. when i got mine 30 wasn't offered yet. but admittedly even that is a doozy. whenever i feel up to getting another 8 string im thinking multi-scale 27"-25"

  • The grammar in the comments makes me want to cry...none of these arguments make sense.

  • Thanks for info about guitar, and sick playing bro. Everything after :57 is golden.

  • hey hows the neck? i hear intrepids have thick and beefy necks

  • @DPMAN2424 it does have a beefier neck, although beefy necks with the right carve (caparisons) fly. the problem with these is the carve, it has a beefy U shape with big shoulders. and thats the drawback, big shoulders. i recently played a gorilla (sp?) 8 string and that felt amazing

  • @ibanezsam4 yeh i played a geurilla* recently as well actually and it felt reallyyyy good. but like 2500 dollars haha fuck that. you think its worth it to sacriffice an agiles tone for an esp's/ibanez's playability? or just man up and go for agile?

  • @DPMAN2424 well there's two things to consider about Agiles, the tone and the price. you can still get a neck thru with EMG/Blackouts with a 27" neck for $800, the only comparable ESP/Ibanez are all over one thousand dollars. also 30 day return policy makes them worth the try. if anything you can take it to a luthier, and have the shoulders shaved (im thinking of trying it). i also have no experience with the RGA8

  • @ibanezsam4 yeh i was lookin at the 28 incher of that. i have long and lanky fingers so i should be able to get around the neck. and the 30 day return policy is clutch. im probably gunna give it a try. thanks man nice vids.

  • dude you know theres 6 other strings right?

  • @NOORYOUNIS no.. really? i hadn't noticed. kinda like you failed to notice the description, and my numerous other comments on this videos content. i hadn't found the intervals i liked yet. so sue me that i played a retarded meshuggah riff. but if you notice, i made this a year ago and predated the most recent crop of 8 string fags out there. really dude, read. i prefer the comments asking me about the guitar and not what i played

  • @ibanezsam4 your a faggot, you suck and your gonna remove this comment. The title of the video isn't Agile guitar or agile guitar review its ...riff. so excuse for commenting on the riff you played in a riff video in which you only used two strings of an eighth string in the comments section.Suck a dick or learn to accept constructive criticism

  • @NOORYOUNIS pardon? oh im sorry i didn't respond sooner, see i was busy living whats called a life.. y'know where you make money, have fun with friends, buy beer and have sex with your girlfriend? see, while you be hate'n, i be living. now if you had an 8 string, you be asked "dude, what's a low F# sound like?" and naturally you would show them something one the low strings (which i used 3 off.. just say'n) everyone knows what the other 5 sound like. so yeah.. go beat off your dad or something

  • @ibanezsam4 you dont know me retard. first off i do have a life and id bet that ive made more money than you and have fucked hotter girls than you dont try to act like you know me. and if i had an 8 string...oh wait ive had one. i dont play this bullshit and then freak out when people comment on my videos i play shit that i need the whole guitar for. i play after the burial and animals as leaders shit

  • @ibanezsam4 and as far as someone asking me about an f# or whatever the fuck you said i know as much music theory as music theory majors you cant even touch meso once again stfu

  • @NOORYOUNIS Music theory majors? I fail to understand you.

  • GREAT!!! other fagg using just 2 strings of an aswesome guitar

  • @ihatechoosename im thinking im gonna need to put up a two-handed tapping/fingerstyle 8 string vid just to shut you fuckers up

  • @ibanezsam4 Okay, then why don't you post a fingerstyle vid instead of this garbage?

  • @ExiledNihilist i take it you dont do well at reading video descriptions? and because i work and dont have time to record crap quality videos for youtube.. its not really a priority

  • @ihatechoosename The video dosent say "8string tapping, sweeping, and beating off aka shredding..." it says RIFFING! dont be a douche...

  • ugh sounds like utter shit.

  • @MrShredtilldead yeah tell me about it

  • Look at this guy. No way. No way.

  • @Ph7ll7p drinking out of cups? cuz if so Ms. Sand is a bitch

  • @ibanezsam4 hahaha. you got it!

  • sry...but you suck deep!!! :D

  • @philbillism siiiigh. yes i've acknowledged this already.. its improv people

  • Hey man, I'm about to buy an Agile 8 string. The price is fucking unbelievable. The only big problem I am having is where to get strings etc. Where do I get replacement strings?

  • @summitthescale La Bella makes 8 string sets. but the problem i find is that the 8th and sometimes the 7th string aren't thick enough and flop around like shit.. my advice is to buy your self a good seven string set and then buy separate singles for the 8th string.

  • Have to say.

To have only had the agile a few short weeks, you're catching hold of it.

Metalcore on an 8 string? Some proper retards out there.

Hope your bro was happy :)

  • @Nialzzz thanks man. worst part is, this isn't how i play anymore, nor did i really before, but to make up easy riffs this stuff literally falls out of the guitar

  • @ibanezsam4 Hahaha. I know. I got me an ibanez 8 string. It's hard to get used to, but suddenly gets so buttery.

  • im sorry but im beginning to get p'd off at all these dumbass people who own an 8 string and dont play it right, i mean what happened to powerchords on the 8th string and a GOOD amp and maybe even a GOOD microphone that doesnt fuzz up when you attack the 8th string with your pick, this makes me wish i had a fckn 8 string of my own, try playing metalcore and deathcore this is just a flubby mess with no backbone structure!, you suck! get a metronome and leran song structure

    gawwdam -__-

  • @jamesXmetal 1) i had owned the guitar only a few weeks (technically longer but i dont count the first few weeks because they shipped with some pretty bad string gauges and it was floppy as hell) so my hand still wasn't used to it. 2) yes they are still kinda floppy im stepping up to a .78 on the low F#. 3) its a Genz Benz El Diablo, look the amp up, trust me its good unless you think Mesa defines metal of something. 3) i made that riff up in about 5 minutes and half of it was improv.

  • @jamesXmetal are you capable of improvising rhythm parts on the fly without sounding like shit? 4) you like metalcore and deathcore, get fucked man, you would buy an 8 string and write breakdowns. your definition of song structure is heavy->breakdown->melodic riff->breakdown->heavy riff. 5) time signature change! and yes i have a metronome. 6) you fail because you favorited a video by brokencyde and the top 10 metalcore scremocore breakdowns. get fucked loser

  • @jamesXmetal There's only one way to play a guitar? Strange, please enlighten us.

  • @jamesXmetal Douche!! How do you play an 8 string "right"? How do you define "wrong" in this argument? I have an 8 string and a Diezel Herbert, I don't powerchord it up on the 8th string. Am I a dumbass?

Metalcore and Deathcore (horrible subgenres) using 8 string guitars would be rubbish.

Song structure? Is that not fairly generic when you listen to the aforementioned genres you care for? Hypocritical much?

  • work on alternate picking dude

  • @zoso0987 Tell that to James Hetfield!

  • @00sven00sven00 haha, now just imagine how sick he would have been if he had worked on his alternate picking!

  • @zoso0987 oh ma, ive just started getting back into old master of puppets stuff and its a killer on the ol down picking! im so weak...fucken james hetfield...

  • eh, some of these people are being dicks. true, the quality isn't really that good, but what some of these guys think is that programming quality on an 8-string is difficult, AND this is a home video. not bad man, grab yourself some condenser mics and drumkit from hell and you'll have some great indie tracks.

  • send him some tosin abasi or fredrik thordendal. that way your bro wont have to listen to 8 string material that sucks ass

  • @desolateline hey im not saying im god. this was made because he specifically requested i make this for him, because he wanted to see me play it. now if your brother was overseas (specifically the middle east) where some crazy terrorist trucker bastard could detonate an explosive through his station, would you not make a video despite your ability? i love youtube for retards like you man

  • @ibanezsam4 This fucker has been trolling on a few 8 string videos I've seen. Obviously just a sad lonely individual. Anyway, nice agile man! I just bought one last night! I've never been so psyched for something in my life! I can't deal with waiting a week or more for it to get delivered! Can I ask, how are the passives in this? would it be worth putting some bare knuckles in them at some point or are they good enough?

  • @mcchuff the stock pups in these are surprisingly good. granted they dont hold a candle to Bare Knuckles (which if you have the money are completely worth swapping the old stuff out) but they's been doing the job well. i have in in it's standard tuning which these things handle pretty well, but when i drop tuned it (drop e) it seemed muddier. so im swapping them sometime soon for BKs. and you're a lucky man getting yours in a week. i had to wait 6 months lol. grats tho man

  • @desolateline what a dick thing to say. for real.

  • 12 thumbs down? really? i know its not great but at least im helping people out in the comments section

  • @ibanezsam4 Not bad, I thought the actual riff is catchy. It sounds stiff though, probably cause of your picking hand being a little unorthodox. I notice you pick from your arm, which is technically incorrect. Try picking more from your wrist, that is the "proper" way of playing. It generally works the best, but we all have our own style of playing.

  • @Jartny i hadn't noticed until you pointed that out... why am i doing that? lol. im pretty sure i was picking normal last night *paranoia sets in*

  • @ibanezsam4 Dude it's not always about what people think. Don't worry about it they will probably do the same for mine you can check that out on my channel lol.

  • I like this, its a dope and catchy riff

  • is this guitar heavy on your shoulders? also how much does it influence your playing having no fretmarkers?

  • @hideki12345 its got some weight to it, a lot of it is in the neck though. i think its distributed nicely. no fret markers is something i had to work on getting used to. i can get around without them just fine. i have considered getting those vinyl fret marker decals just to make it easier though

  • how hard is it to adjust from a 6 string to an 8 string guitar?

  • @keasaildsslog ummm..... well i had been playing around with a seven here and there. but you just have to know where the new notes are and how they relate to the chords you already know. i find its easier to figure out your powerchords first then everything else

  • @ibanezsam4 yeah its just the extra high string thatll get me i think i mean ive played 7 strings before and its not that bad just takes time getting used to. i just really fucking want that guitar! and its only 5 dollars more than the 7 string so why not? ya know? hahahaha

  • @keasaildsslog mines got the two low strings. but i know agile produces 8s in different scale lengths to accommodate people who want to run a high A. if you're interested there's a company who makes high A strings specially designed for guys like us who have ERGs. i can PM you if you want

  • @ibanezsam4 woah wait you can have an 8 string with 2 low strings??? what scale length is that? cause i could get used to that pretty easy i was just worried about the one extra high string....sorry im new to 8 strings haha

  • @keasaildsslog yup. in this video its strung from low to high F#, B, E, A, D, G, B, E. the scale length is 28.625. its a bit of a reach in a few places but the lows are nice and clear. im working on putting a 2nd vid up that sounds closer to the style im going for.. the tuning in that song is different.

  • @ibanezsam4 sweet i think i made my decision..8 string it is!!! hahaha

  • Hey, what's the scale length? What's the tuining? Can I tune it to Standard E?

  • @jvms111 sorry for not answering sooner. its a 28.625 scale length, and this video was made in standard E. the length is more so there to give the 8th string the clarity it needs. im actually thinking of stringing this up with .11 gauge to eliminate some floppiness i've been feeling lately. right now im using the same gauges as Meshuggah

  • @ibanezsam4 you should definetely do the jump up in gauges, the reason meshuggah uses such thin strings is because their guitars have a 30 inch scale length, making them extremely tight

  • What scale length?

  • 28.625

  • I think you shouldnt center your riffs around the chugging on the bottom 2 (7th and 8th) strings. It sounds way better when those notes are just accented!

  • i totally agree, im moving my "style" up primarily to the other strings. most of my chugging is done on the 7th and 6th strings and i basically save the 8th for a couple of low notes and mainly some large chording to give songs a massive sound

  • @ibanezsam4 & Akeldama88 chug on anything that sounds good to YOUR ear. Music is expression, right? If it sounds right to you, it is right no matter if you're chugging on the 5,6,7, or 8. Express yourself don't imitate.

  • Mine comes in may.

  • Comment removed

  • neck-thru. you can always tell when there are wood stripes down the middle of the body

  • Thank god everyones got good things to say about these guitars, I've always been scared because of the low price, but I ordered one anyways, apparently I won't be disappointed

  • weell think of it this way, they're about the same quality as a Schecter, except Kurt doesn't advertise and he doesn't run a monstrous company. so costs can be kept very low. so its not some much the quality is cheap, its the overheads are low... also how can you beat a 30 day money back guarantee????

  • i got mine in a week O.ô and i live in germany

  • we were talking pre-orders, so the one he ordered hasn't been built yet

  • how long did it take for you to get your intrepid after you ordered it?

  • it took from the time i ordered it (early to mid spring) to august 3rd

  • ahh, maybe like around 5 months?

  • 5-6 months seems to be the normal wait time

  • thank a lot man, just trying to find a good time to order mine! keep up the good work!

  • Sounds like Meshuggah made a really muddy sounding Beach Boys CD or something along those lines.

  • yeah hahahaha Meshuggah style stuff just falls out of this thing when you play it. and the sound comes from my shit quality mic thats attached to the cam... there was so much low end of this that it simply can't pick up

  • Great stuff, man! Keep on that style!

  • Which pickups would be better for an 8-string? Active or passive?

  • it's really your choice. i prefer passive pickups because i dont like the sterile quality of actives. but it should be noted i've never played 7 or 8 string actives... so i could be wrong. use your ears man, or take a gamble try one out and tell me how it sounds!

  • i have active 808's and id never part with them, there amazing quality which because there active dont depend on the wood for clarity so your not making a gamble puting them in any guitar. And tbh i think you need actives to show off an 8. a 7 can be held passively but 8's just need that power to them. especialy for metal. mabe an active bridge like a duncan custom shop or an EMG 808 in the bridge with a bare knuckle or agile standard in the neck would be a good combo. up to you m8, its ur sound

  • thanks man!

  • no backing track here, just me and the camera. i do have a korg unit im lending out, perhaps its time i retrieve it

  • i have a mixer but no way to mic my amp
