While I would agree that there are arguments that this was the worst-refereed World Cup ever, but it was one of the most exciting. It had so many outsiders (for the time) like Turkey, Slovenia, China, Senegal, the list goes on! I like how FIFA acknowledges refereeing problems when it says "Linke appeared to handle the ball on the line" (aka, he did handle the ball on the line, the ref missed it), and "some of the decisions in this match angered the Spanish coach" (aka, the ref sucked).
