Please do not use them since they tend to detect "Ghost" threats in persuading you to purchase their paid VERSION.
I used it and it detected 767 threats while other major anti-spyware programs (MalwareBytes, SuperAntiSpyware & AVAST Internet Security) detected NONE.
It removed my "made up" threats but then later report 767 threats again. I used other to scan again but none detected.
In my opinion this is a SCAM by IOBIT in providing "ROGUE spyware" program so they it can trick us.
Only Irish people use this. This guy? Irish. American: Know it is a scam... DUH Look at ililililil1's comment. "Mate". Irish/British. English: This sucks! The reason this " protects " This guy's pc is because he gets the money from poor Americans who pay for it.
@ROFLRemix123 - And just which planet are you on? Many people worldwide use this as it is simple and easy to install and setup. as for "The reason this " protects " This guy's pc is because he gets the money from poor Americans who pay for it." - which guy gets the money? It sure as hell ain't me :-)
@ROFLRemix123 What does his ethnicity have to do with him showing us how this program works? I installed it today and so far it is working fine with my Avira/Malwarebytes program. Very informative and helpful video by the way.
The latest version blocks Internet sites including shield up because of open ports. It monitors Internet sites that you go to this is in the terms and conditions if you read it. Try it for yourself it is spyware not a firewall.
@Crime1234management - It does work and it is NOT spyware. Although PC Tools is owned by Symantec, PC Tools were allowed to keep the firewall and a few other apps as they were :-)
@ ililililil1 - You need to enable logging for programs that you want to log using the drop down arrow to the right of application name in 'Applications' - This video covers V5 but I have an updated one which covers V6 which also explains logging :-)
This is the second time I give this FW a go and... it is a buggy crap!!!
It totally froze my PC to the point I had to unplug the power cable. it happened on both my attempts (with 3 weeks interval), and on the last one (half an hour ago) I had to uninstall it in Safe Mode. Not even the GUI is polished.
Long live Comodo, with all its defects.
Are you alright cotojo? It's been a week since we heard from you. Regards, Jose.
@jossmartins - Hi Jose - I'm ok thanks, just a few health issues LOL.
V6 is better then V5, although some configurations do have a problem with it....Comodo or Online Armor for first choice, have covered OA and will review Comodo again as newer version since my last review :-)
nielagahanemo - Did you uninstall a previous firewall? If so clean your temp files with CCleaner and clean your Registry with Auslogics Free Registry Cleaner, do NOT use the registry provided with CCleaner. Ensure the Windows Firewall is OFF, open PC tools Firwall, click on Applications, locate and click PC Tools Smart Update, click Advanced settings and ensure all are set to Allow :-)
nielagahanemo - There are rarely updates for the firewall. Which version are you using? Most updates are done in the background and when clicking Smart Update nothing happens as it is already updated :-)
I have a question about PC Tools Firewall Plus, I installed it on my XP machine and restarted it and normally when I rebooted it gave me the usual "PC Tools Firewall Initializing..." which is fine, but it never initialized, I think something might be wrong with my PC, is there a way to get it to work? Thank you. =]
SnakeEATER5862 - Uninstall PC Tools Firewall, clean ALL Temp files with CCleaner, clean the registry with Auslogics Free reg Cleaner, reboot and reinstall :-)
if u make your computer slow with out antivirus scan or other activites like this than mean it has a virus (that is my opinion)or u have 2 antivirus the same time
Can you tell me were to get a internet security that will not expire like in 30 days and that it won't make my computer slow because Pc Tools internet sucurity makes my computur very slow.
Seibertron101 - Best options are to use a layered approach, Online Armor or PC Tools free firewalls, Avast or Avira antivirus, Spyware Doctor Starter edition, Malwarebytes anti-malware, Spybot S&D to block bad sites via the Hosts file....all are free and you can find links on my site, link under 'more info' and click on A-Z Index, there's plenty of choice :-)
Great review! I am not too concerned about the complication of the interface, but more the level of protection. Would you say that this, or Tall Emu, offers the best protection?
d2gizzo - Online Armor from Tall Emu is better. On some machines it has a conflict with some programs so Tall Emu does not work for everyone. I will be covering Comodo, OA, Zone Alarm etc over the coming weeks :-)
It's all about user choice and what the end user is comfortable with.
to me thats what separates a good fw from a GREAT and VERY useful fw :) Shame about the latest OA version, i cant run it (and i know many has issues with it and cant run it as well)
How the fuck do i get rid of it i am the only account on my PC but i cant delete it it says im not the system administrator? any idea?

My settings are just fine. Microsoft Windows 7 my name is Philip Davidson
I am the ex-employee as I have moved on of London European communications
it is spyware. It does block shield.

Year old comment I know.
But seriously, before anyone tries out Security software, do some research.
False positives happen.
(Also don't listen to so called "Techies" at best buy, walmart etc,)

when i installed it a window comes up and says new network detected with a bunch of information. what should i do?
massacre70 2 years ago
massacre70 - If it's a network that you know then allow it. Usualy PC Tools picks up the local home network and adds it automatically :o)
cotojo1253 2 years ago
well the only button to click was "apply " so i guess it was my own network.
massacre70 2 years ago
massacre70 - It would find your own network, if it was denied you would lose your network connectivity :-)

Why i cannot see that "enable stealth mode" in my settings? I have installed 6.0.0.74 version is it because that or....?
MokomaSusi 2 years ago
MokomaSusi - Open the firewall and click on Settings then click the Filtering tab :-)
cotojo1253 2 years ago
I know. But there is no such thing there. In filtering tab there is only options "Enable firewall" and "Enable echanted security".
MokomaSusi 2 years ago
MokomaSusi - Ensure that both boxes are ticked you will then have stealth mode enabled :-)

it doesn't work for vista 64 bit :(
henrytongx12438 2 years ago
henrytongx12438 - There are few applications for 64 bit versions although they are gradually increasing.
Free firewall for 64bit available here:
sphinx-soft (dot) com/Vista/order(dot)html?from=VistaFirewallControl
cotojo1253 2 years ago
henrytongx12438 - Comodo also works on 64bit machines, make sure you ony install the firewall and NOT the antivirus that is bundled with it :-)
cotojo1253 2 years ago
why don't dl the antivirus with it?
henrytongx12438 2 years ago
