Thank god Square Enix actually listened to all the bad reviews, sacked the development team, and completely revamped the game... version 2.0 HAS to be better than this disaster!
This game really sucks.. i tested the beta myself: 14 Hours download, 5 min loading screens and 10 fps with lagging mouse cursor -> ragequit. I didn't even come near to how shitty the rest of the game is.

After a Cutscene, go to the cutscene, after the cutscene, go downstairs for a cutscene, Use your npc linkshell to speak to the npc, head back to the INN for a cutscene.

@Baleur You were taught correctly, but at the same time..you are incorrect.. when someone in the story is speaking, they can have accents..that's part of immersing yourself in the story. Yeah, sometimes it's annoying/hard to read..but it's meant to have an accent, it's not incorrect to do this at all.

It's really hard for me to understand some people's train of thought.. I mean at the end, where they were confused what to do, the first thing I thought was "Ok, so I probably need to get my level up to ten to proceed." I'm not sure why people have so bad a time with this. Or continuing thinking like an elitist prik but don't be surprised if this game ends up like APB, for it's failure to evolve to the current gaming market. People generally play games to have fun, as a form of escapism. When a game is more frustrating than fun, then it will generally fail.

Regardless, this game will have an audience that will enjoy it's elements. Leave quests are just a small part of the game.

I was first very weary of this game when the SpoonyOne mentioned how much the demo sucked at PAX in his vid. But the Yogscast guys seems to have confirmed my fears that this 'game' is more about watching an ungodly amount of cutscenes and utterly boring quests.

Most game companies use the same formula over and over again, especially RPG games
In the FF games there is usually a lot similar (like the menu based combat) but there are always fundamental differences in their games, like FF7's Mako for example, that make gameplay completely different every time
Considering how different and yet (usually) successful their games are I think one fail here and there is completely fine :P
This game is awsome. There are only so many cutscenes for these guys because they just seem to be doing missions. Don't get me wrong i love these guys, but imo if you liked FFXI you'll like this. But im a huge metal gear fan:P

Androgynous pirates is worse that sparkling vampires, also wtf. is up with the "n'avi cats" here? Is that what a cat would give birth to if you managed to impregnate one? Should I try to fuck my cat? is that what this game is about?
What I find amazing is that a game that is based entirely on cut scenes do them so very very poorly. I mean the few times WoW has had cut scenes so far they have always been awesome and fun to watch but here you feel like you are watching something a 5 years old put together.
There exists no force in this universe that would force me to play this. If I had loads of free time and this game only... I'd rather go to bed and sleep all day:D

Strategy guides are a huge money grab. Games are designed with all this secret stuff - just in order to sell more guides. Thank goodness for those people who put the info up on the web.

I played the game up to lvl 15. The main line quests were the worst part of the game. Try doing the emote quest in the desert town.

This game is awsome. There are only so many cutscenes for these guys because they just seem to be doing missions. Don't get me wrong i love these guys, but imo if you liked FFXI you'll like this.

What I find amazing is that a game that is based entirely on cut scenes do them so very very poorly. I mean the few times WoW has had cut scenes so far they have always been awesome and fun to watch but here you feel like you are watching something a 5 years old put together.

final fantasy 14 : the interactive movie, to watch you need to walk
comes completly without action, fun, story and battle. But wait if you buy now you get an extra fishing pole AND 4 more cutscenes to get the damn thing
