I am surprized the no one caught this sooner the saturn sky redline does not come with a 2.4 turbo only a 2.0 turbo. Only the base model come only with a 2.4 ecotech non turbo. GM does not have a 2.4 ecotech turbo out right now.

The MX5 does suck. I'm not a S2000 fan either. It's a cool car but too much work to keep it in the powerband. I do like the saturn sky and will probably own one in the future pending on how the aftermarket takes to it.

the sky redline is a 2.0l not a 2.4 the regular sky is a 2.4 2.4l is 170hp and 2.0l turbo is 260hp. im a saturn tech i know its lame to say.

yeah i meant 260 sorry im a saturn tech so i had too many chances to drive this car its great for a weekend car cuz theres no room for anything and yes it will beat a mustangthe boost comes on strong and the auto werks very well on this platform and eng combo if i was just drag racing it id go automatic and put it in competition mode it plays with boost and shift points on the auto

theres no rrom for storage and theres things in the car like the cup holder on the passenger side that always breaks. i replaced on on a customers car at my dealership 3 times in the same month the interior dimensions are tight and are actually 2 inches bigger than a c5 corvette which is what this car is essentially a smaller version of and gm thought of a power top like the Mercedes SLK but saturn has always been known as the affordable car and the power top also adds considerable weight.

HAHA beat a mustang. Probably a V6. Most V8 Mustangs run high 13s (low 14s with a bad driver) in the quarter. I haven't heard of a stock sky redline getting any lower than 14.3 at best. Don't get me wrong I love the sky redline and it has pretty decent powertrain engineering but this powertrain is not meant for high horsepower numbers. You can't hit higher than 350whp without upgrading the valvetrain. I think the redline series should have a 350ci. Especially for that price.

you totally underestimate the engine and a thing called power to weight ratio! the mustang is heavy anf the sky is mostly aluminum and fiber glass and plastic and the convertable topis really light too. the factory suspension setup onthese Kappa's is phenominal and the variable geo turbo gets it going real quick so stock to stock i think the skly has an excellent chance of beating a mustang gt. the v6? thats just a warm up.....

Ok, I'll give you the fiberglass, plastic, and aluminum, but a CONVERTIBLE will NEVER be lighter than a coupe or fastback. Convertibles are typically 200-400 pounds heavier than their hard-top sisters.

The Sky's convertible top is extremely light because it's a manual top. The Sky and Mustang have basically the same numbers stock. The difference is: the Sky is a chick magnet that looks WAY better than any Mustang. Besides, for less than a grand you could upgrade the Sky (stock GM kit) to 290hp and 325ftlbs of torque and wave goodbye to the Mustangs in your rear view mirror...

go to the website it is def better than its competition which is the mazda mx5 and the honda s2000. even better than the sister kappa the solstice the s2000 in general is over priced and the mx5 just sux the solstice just doesnt offer enough standard equipment to make up for the price whereas the sky does!! go do the comparrisons...i did
