In the Marconi apparatus it was not about to generate, as in the Tesla experience, high level voltages at high frequency with micro-current but alternating voltages at a set frequency and polarization with high level of current. Tesla was not able to repeat Marconi's results even after 1895. Marconi created the only working radiotransmission apparatus !
Tesla and Marconi held the same patent for radio in the early 20th century. Tesla wanted to use it to transmit electricity to homes while Marconi wanted to use it to communicate, as you clearly said. in later years Tesla later won the patent for radio in the US. Rest of the world is was Marconi. Voice communications came from a guy named " Reginald Fessiden" who transmitted voice on christmas eve in the 20's here in Canada.

US Supreme Court upheld Tesla's patent number U.S. Patent 645,576 in effect recognizing him as the inventor of radio NOT Marconi.
