i don't believe in breeding pure breeds. many of them have diseases or complications that are passed on. example cancer is common on some breeds, others have can be born blind. this is caused by the "bottle-neck effect" in which a species starts with a large gene pool, as you get closer to getting the specific traits you want you will only breed it with others that have similar genes. i consider it a type inbreeding process.
