Can anyone tell me please, what the yellow circle is on the front of the deck is? I have seen these before on channel ferries, why yellow, and why a circle?
@Oakleaf700 This is the winch zone for the helicopter. If you have personnel of equipment that is delivered or retrieved with a helicopter the pilot in the chopper will use this circle as his target for his winch wire.
@euro42 Cheers, that makes sense-once coming home from France, a helicopter hovered above the ferry we were on, just a ''dry run'' for a rescue situation- luckily no one injured/ill. Thanks so much for info.
BRAVO pour le courage de ces hommes !!! a qui l'on doit certainement le sauvetage de milliers de personnes !!! pour etre moi meme souvent en mer je peux vous affirmer que ce sont de veritables st Bernard des mers
For you all thinking this is some ordinary Tug/work Boat, Your Wrong!
This is one if not the most Powerful Tug Boats in the world!
This boat is owned by the French military & operated by the Coast Guard for Emergency Rescue services Betwen France & UK Coastal Line For all Maritime EMERGENCIES!
read your facts... there's plenty off more powerfull anchor handling vessels,,f.eks in norway you got far samson(350t bollard pull) , olympic pegasus(285 bp) and olympic hercules(285bp)
abeille bourbon got 200 in bollard pull,,, nice boat anyways;)
@Murphyjah This boat is not owned by the French army, you're wrong, this boat is for the private company Abeille International Group Bourbon. It is chartered by the French state and is available to the Maritime Prefect of Brest at any time, to rescue people and especially for towing large boat in difficulties, generally in the storm.
you can`t even spell! but at least your mother and sisters throw a good fuck. i know you want my cock up your ass but i`m not a faggot queer frenchmen!
first of all, don't start complaining about the french language, you can't speak english good either. second of all. who gives a damn fuck or that guys speaking french here!? use google translate or something and why do you have to read it all if they all say like: great ship i love it, nice ship i really like it! or i've seen that ship!
and than tell me, why do you piss on the french? what did they do wrong to you?
Who gives a rats ass if you are a 'tug boat captain'? What on earth does what you do for a living impact this video? I'm so sick of people always bragging about themselves!! Just comment on the boat, we dont care what you do Scrotum Lips.
A lovely ship and bigger than she looks (80meters) with 16,000kw power and 209tons pull at the bollard, these are the guys you pray for on a sinking freighter in 50ft waves.
