One comment: when Christ was one the cross, he told the rich romans, the crass centurions, the false Pharisees: Father, forgive them, for they know NOT what they do. He forgave his oppressors, something I have not heard the Rev. mention at all.
Thank you so much for uploading these. I have immensely enjoyed listening to his perspective.
It's usual to see simplistic associations come from those who discover Rev. Wright with the retarding baggage of hidden agendas.
Why compare Jeremiah Wright with Christ on the cross? More appropriate and effective associations can be found in the Book of Lamentations or better known as the Book of Jeremiah (the prophet) in the Old Testament.
I was not try to associate the Rev. with Christ. My point is: where is Christ's teaching of forgiving his oppressors (as he did on the cross) in what the Rev. preaches.
"Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one each other, just as God in Christ also forgave you. Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma." Ephesians 4:31- 5:2
Great sermon Preacher Wright. If there were only more preachers like you I would return to church. Obama needs to thank you as well, you just got him my vote. May God Bless you. You just gave me hope, hope that had all but gone out.
I can understand why Obama came to this church. Rev. Wright's sermons are very inspiring and truthful, there is nothing hateful about his speeches. Thanks for posting this, I need to make a trip to his church, this is very very good sermon.
That's right. It's amazing how whenever we hear something about someone on television we just digest it without questioning. Just think..majority of us have been to college too.
Of course Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and the big 3 evening news programs did not show the full video. If they did that then they would have nothing to run on.
Thank you for putting all these videos up. Jeremiah Wright is awesome. I'm not particularly religious but I like listening to him. He tells the Bible the way it ought to be told. Rare for a preacher. Hopefully people will come to this channel and listen.
Wright judges the world. Parisees and the Reverend Wrights.. No sin in being rich, Solomon was blessed by God abundantly. It is how you become rich. God sees all. No sin in being poor if you love God and work to keep the lion from the door. We are all God's people and I have felt oppression and I am not black.
Breathe... it's healthy for you. Now do you want to unpack all those assertions? Beginning with the first one, which sounds more to me like speaking truth to power to me.
If you listen carefully I think it is clear that Rev. Wrigt is not judging anyone. He is describing conditions around the world as they are. Why are we all so afraid to look at the truth and dislike those who tell the truth? Do you remember what happened to Jesus for telling the truth?
That is a great thought my Indian mother taught me to not judge someone until you have walked in their mocasins. I am proud of my herritage and the white part of me as I am sure Obama is proud of the white part of him.

He forgave them for their sins against His Father, something we can't do.
I don't know if the Bible calls Christians to forgive their oppressors, but they are called to bear witness to them. correct me if i'm wrong.

If Jesus came back today, the Right Wing Conservative "Christians" would call him a liberal and try to destroy him.

Don't think I can ever walk in his shoe. I could not afford his new 1.6 million dollar home.
ClassicFIHD 3 years ago
No you probably couldn't and for clarification his new $1.6M home belongs to the church.
