  • A partir del sec 50 empieza el ral mensaje, y lo mas curioso es que la sincronicidad llego de la pelicula de tron. A despertar hermanos de luz!!! despues de 26,000 años

    In lack ech

  • Duh!

  • Klattu the band is awsome. check out "Calling occupants from interplanetary craft" or True Life Hero. Is this where the band got its name?

  • Hey watch THE TIME MACHINE from 1961

  • I like you little video her and why don't you respond to commets?

  • I think, like the "King Kong" remake, it should've been set in the time it was supposed to have occurred, so it could've maintained the cold war issue.

  • she have fattt neck

  • See the new version as good as the original. My favorit line from the new movie ( Your Planet ) like we own the planet and it's biological integrity. We certainly have screwed it up. And we sure have not gotten a lot more peaceful and friendly as a species sinse 1951.Boy have we got meaner and more war like as a species.

  • I liked better how the US government and its arrogance and stubborness was pictured by the actress they casted for SEC DEF; also the representation of their regrets just like after Vietnam's war, the latest-self-embarrasing taliban hunt and the world wide economic crisis.

That actress was a great pick for it all.

  • I agree, you have to add and subtract the different world problems because of the time factor, so thats the only difference for me. Also i totally agree that the best part of the whole movie is when they were interviewing him and he says those two words that totally "falcon pawwnch" you right in the face. After i saw that in the previews i totally wanted to see it.

  • So. What did you think of the remake?

  • I think that the remake sux a bit :P

  • thats how we learn

    is from each other !!!

    now go i peace:}

  • "Gort! Deglecto prosco!" Spoken after they shot the alien in the park. It probably means, "Hey iron head, don't shoot the nice army guys just because they shot me". The helpful lady said "Gort, klaatu barata nikto" to disarm him. It probably meant, "Hey, asshole, your boss said shut your trap!" When the alien started to leave he said, "Gort, biringa". That probably meant, "Stupid Robot, let's get the flock out of here." Were any of these commands spoken in the new movie?

  • HAHAHA dude that comment made me laugh for about 20 minutes XD hahaha and no i dont think they were. i just watched it about 1 hour ago and im like addicted to the character gort coz in the new movie he like explodesinto like 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 tiny little bugs that try to eat all the humans =D which is what theyre meant to do

  • The new on sucked! Greenie propaganda.. It's porn for Al Gore fan.

  • ok so i wasnt the only one, lol

  • Good God... It takes her 4 minutes to actually get to the point!!! And when she got to the point... I didn't understand what the point was.

Question: Why did you make this video??

  • Oh I dunno about ignorance, I mean I only saw Casablanca this year and I'm 36!

  • how can it be post world war 2/ cold war?! hahaha

  • Zookie, have you seen the remake yet? I just saw it and am going to watch the old one again as soon as I can.

  • Die- u r so annoying!

  • according to you? Merry Chistmas

  • and Zookie, PULEEEZZEEE dont say it like some wimpy Albania dwarf, it's all in the tone of voice, just like skeet shooting, and you're going to save the Earth with that voice? I don't think so...

    Warmest personal regards, DD O'Keefe

  • TDTESS was made as a Christian allegory, bet it doesn't mention that in Wikipedia....and I'll bet that message doesn't make the remake either. How about that for an 'OMG' moment?

Met Patricia Neal at Laguardia Airport in the 1980s waiting for a PBA DC-3 to take us out to Martha's Vinyard, we talked about her husband, Roald Dahl while she sat on her luggage smoking a cigarette in a long black cigarette holder, loved it, and it was a dark and stormy night!

  • DUH

  • One of the greatest films of all time even the remak also,so this must be the answer to the silky mam(is that she called her self>?)the remake is looks better ,and i feel sad abut her she talks well, but why she hang on that ward? and did a resurch on it?i think the ppl who write that ward for that cenima never did that mach resurch on it.next time we will call u to get a alian lagage for a cenima ok ?

  • I remember Watching it in the theater, For "Army of Darkness" and being the only one that laughed.

Bad News. That Line isn't in the remake!!!!!

    They dropped the ball

  • its spoken backwards before he touches the orb, hard to find, i was the only person who noticed

  • i like your sense of humour :)

  • I have loved The Day The Earth Stood Still since I was a little girl back in the fifties. I am so glad to see this film get the attention of ongoing generations. I love this young woman's enthusiasm for the movie! I hope she gets her self criticism under control. I nice young woman like her should not be so hard on herself! She had great comments on the movie though.

  • great mivie loved it as a kid

  • Pure Hollywood. Even if an extraterrrestrial came in a "ship" to Earth; they could well park in space however far away or in orbit and send a simple radio message; Hey, heads up we are here. They'd more like meet an astronaut in space. However; a radio message from their star is even more likely; and its predicted by astronomers that it would well happen by 2025 for REAL. Stay tuned...

  • there making a remake

  • One of the greatest films of all time, there is no need for a remake as this film is still relevant today.I just hope the director stays true to the original story. The Thing From Another World comes a close second for my favourite sci-fi films and as I recall a certain John Carpenter made a very good remake.

  • I SAW IT AS A KID.... GORT SCARED THE SHIT OUTTA ME... to this day i get butterflies in my gut. My fave movie.

  • I seen this movie when I was a child and new long a go it was a classic and I caught the link in army of darkness and many other movies that reference TDTESS but you can not be a sci fi junkie and not have known about this classic

  • I had the same Deja vu about "Klaatu barada nikto", when I saw Army of darkness first time, one week ago.

Then I found it funny (jajaja).

  • I would be like take me with you! lol I cant wait for the re-make it has keanu Reeves & Jennifer Connelly in it...

  • dude my friend totaly said he would not choose the robot because it would not be freedom so...total inhalation it is... I am working on a computer animated version of the original film and will be up really soon....

  • Why would you feel like a dumbbell? If you never saw the movie, HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY KNOW where that line came from? Now, if you HAD seen it, then didn't recognize the connection when you watched Army of Darkness, that would be a different story altogether. Don't be so hard on yourself ;)

  • This sheila could talk underwater

  • nice lips /if he landed in new york they ould have taken his ship.

  • truth is stranger than fiction, the remake is coming this year, but more importantly....you heard it here first, this is going happen....for real!......

  • Ritalin tolerence is is such evidence - up the dose

  • How about the original "THE THING?"

  • Now you are talking. One class movie.

  • Yea Itsa classic. One of the top tens. When worlds collide is one of my favorites.I dont know about dumbell but lack of years of movie watching is probably suspect. You might know that was our only entertainment prop your kids in front of tv or radio days when there was only like 2 to 3 b&w channels.

  • The girl on the opening is so cute...

  • Mel is pretty hot to! :)

    Dumbbell, so cute lol.

    Great Vlog!

  • I just watched it on AMC, I really loved it. I have always heard of it and never sat down to it and now that I have seen it, it is now up there on my top 10 list.

  • DON'T GO AND SEE THE REMAKE!!!

You're far too sophisticated, attractive, and nice for me to let you suffer such preordained dissappointment. Face it, Keanu Reeves could only play one role: the bloody robot. And they'll be concentrating on the crappy CGI and stuff, not the original concept.

  • There is a remake???!

  • yea...Keanu Reeves in it too...there's a new poster up for it....message me on it ok?

  • I get a kick out of this. In the relatively new MMORPG Video game called 'Vanguard', you must get into one low level area called 'Riftseekers Torrent' by saying out loud, 'Utaalk atarav utkin'. I managed to recognize it was from Army of Darkness... backwards. People are ALWAYS shouting asking for the password to get into the place, but they never forget it when I point out what it's from. Yes the amount of times it was used since 1951 is amazing.

Nothing she said makes her a dumbell.

  • what a dumbell

    -hero

  • Actually I'm hoping for aliens to visit

us in our lifetime. If you liked

The day the earth stood still.

Also check out V: the miniseries.

    I love that one.

  • Why are you saying it in some sort of Chinese accent? Have you seen Forbidden Planet or The American Astronaut?

  • A remake of the day the earth stood still with woody allen as klatu would at least be funny. I suppose as long as they don't let Tim Burton within a 20 mile range on the set of the remake it should turn out ok.

  • It's a great movie, but no worries, I'm sure you're not lone in missing out on it for so long. If you've seen Army of Darkness you're OK in my book. By the way, one more reference to Klaatu is a band who released a record after the Beatles broke up, the rumor was that it was The Beatles re-formed under an assumed name. Turned out they were a buncha Canadians though. *LOL Have a good one.

  • vezi k ai smantana pe la bot:))

  • It's gonna take this chick another few months to figure out that 'Army of Darkness' is a sequel to a movie called, um, "Evil Dead".

  • Actually isn't it the 3rd movie after Evil Dead 2?

  • This is my favorite movie of ALL time!!! It is so deep...think about it...

  • Aren't the special effects great? Even though dated, they convey all the imagery necessary and are quite convincing in their simplicity. I always loved that awesome ramp coming out of the ship. I can watch this movie any time. Actually, it is my favorite science fiction film. Shame on Hollywood for regurgitating a remake. Do something original like these guys did!

  • I soooooooooo want to kiss this girl!!!!!

  • I hope it gets remade. I look forward to seeing that! You can watch the original on Google Video. Just use the search on the Google Video homepage.

  • I've got it on DVD already. :) The remake is slated for release in May 2008. Hopefully it will come out then. I really loved the original, though. :)

    Mel :)

  • 11th commandment: Thou shalt not remake a classic!

  • with todays special effects, and the rellevance of the death, and destruction today....should be great!!!!

  • The original was so good there is no need to remake. It almost stands up today except for the dated cars. I call it excellence of simplicity. What a great film!

  • HUGGGGGLE

  • LOL! Thank you! :)

    --Mel :)

  • I can't believe you didn't know that Baby. Those stupid damn words!

  • LOL! Well, at least I know now. :)

    --Mel :)

  • OMG! You're such a geek! A very loveable geek!!!:-)

  • LOL! Thank you! :)

    --Mel :)

  • The skiff guards in "Star Wars: Return of The Jedi" are also named, Klaatu, Barada, and Nikto, in a nod to the classic "The Day The Earth Stood Still." If you haven't seen "Forbidden Planet," check that out, too! Far ahead of its time! Yay! -- Matt

  • Doh! I never would have known that! Forbidden Planet is definitely on my list of movies to watch. :) --Mel :)

  • One of my favorite films Matt. Forbidden Planet was a ground breaker... and what a great cast!

  • Yeah.. if you didn't know about The Day the Earth Stood Still and the phrase "Klaatu Barada Nikto", you lose something when Ash utters those words! Glad you finally got to see this classic! I'm leary about the remake though.

  • I may not watch the remake. I still haven't watched War of the Worlds. I'm glad I finally saw this movie, too! :) --Mel :)

  • I haven't ever seen it. It does sound good. I might have to rent it or something. Great video.

  • It's an excellent movie. I recommend it. :) --Mel :)

  • Actually, although it's not Spanish per se, the phrase is indeed Portugese.

It means, "your comics will be here on WEDNESSDAY, come back then."

    *grin*

  • LOL! That was a good one! I got THREE graphic novels today related to Civil War. Ooops, it's 3AM. I got THREE graphic novels yesterday related to Civil War. The Punisher War Journal was hardcover, but only $20. :)

    --Mel :)

  • Just got my usual pulls, plus the Star Trek Klingons thing. Yes, I even got the one that's written in Klingon. I'm such a geek.

I've already got every issue of all CW titles, "the road to", and tie-ins, including the rares like She-Hulk 8 and Wolvy 42. Thinking of selling them now, as they're hot now, and might not be after a while especially with tpb's comming out.

  • Yeah, if you sell them while they're hot, you'll make some money, otherwise you'll have to hold onto them for a while and they may never go back up in price. --Mel :)

  • Great movie, huh? I forgot about the "Army of Darkness" connection. But you don't say the phrase with a Spanish accent, you silly-heart! (tee-hee)

  • LOL! I didn't even notice I said it that way! Doh! --Mel :)

  • The Day The Earth Stood Still is an amazing film. One of the very first horror/science fiction movie i ever saw. :)

  • Yes, it was excellent. Now how did I miss it all these years? Well, at least I've seen it now. :) --Mel :)
