It's really hard to distinguish the DV/DSV from their Selmer counterparts. Think the SBA is better than the DSV by a hair (a bit silkier), the Pro DV better than the 57k Mark VI (slightly rounder sound)

  • I would bet that if there was no identifying subtitles and only the tone. 99% of us would misidentify the tones.

  • I guess the only one that can tell a difference between the horns is the one playing it because they all sound the basically the same. They sound like everything on YouTube. Compressed.

  • This would be more useful if you included something other than Selmers and CE's. Like a Mexi-Conn or a typical student horn or a cheap ebay horn.

  • Tone-wise all of these horns are pretty close. But the VI's are just a tad faster. Sometimes tho, "a tad" means quite a lot. (say if you play some skunk funk for ex)

  • Your line of horn can hold their own with the mark VI.Well in my opinion

  • Sounds great. Digging the version without reverb...easier to get a sense of the differences between horns. All sound really good though!

  • @thenewyorkjazz yeah i agree. The customer originally requested the reverb so we did it.. but some sotw'ers recommended taking it off, and man, it really helps to hear better..
