There seems to be a misconception among non-Indians that Indian nations are gone or "disappearing". We are still here, we have always been here. There is a vibrant, thriving Indian culture on this continent that doesn't need or ask for the "remembrance" of people outside of that culture. So, Be proud of your native heritage, of course, but realize that, to many people, your 1ancestor 100 or 200 years ago does not give you close ties at all to modern native culture...
to yopicahua: You claim to be native yet show that you're ignorant in the same paragraph. That makes us real Natives look bad. Most of the African Americans in this country are descendants of tribes from hundreds of years ago, many of which are extinct. Would you rather them deny their ancestry because their skin is a bit more dark than yours? You think someone is going to take something from you because you think you're more Native than someone else. Sad.
Many native americans are not 100 pure but they still do the best they can and embrace and preserve their heritage for the world to see. Why must you judge and be racist towards those who want to pay tribute and homage to their American Indian Ancestry who don't identify as native american? I personally do not identify as Native American but I do have Native American ancestry in my bloodlines and I embrace it. Is that a crime?
this one of the many tribes whom pretend to be native American they do have some Native but mostly the 80 percent of their people are caucasian and African American Its sad to see how people take advantage of our origins
Whats sad is how many people deny and have forgotten who and where their people have come from. Forgotten their dance, song and prayers. One percent or One hundred percent doesn't matter. African, Caucasian, Asian, Native, Human. Its better to be remembered and honored by a few, than forgotten by all.
@moonlite37 what is also sad are the people who have blood and who strive to learn and protect what little they do know only to be shot down and ridiculed for being located in the "wrong" part of the country (East Coast) and being categorically thrown in with the Generokees for that reason alone.

you should be a politician for the way how you write, you claim to be a Native American and at the end
you wrote that we all are humans. so why is the reason of claiming to be something you are not?
by the way we are from the human species but from different races, and what is really sad is the fact that you have a
history,culture etc,etc
