Ummmm......well I hate to say it, but The Weirdness is a shit album and unfortunately I've seen footage of Iggy singing at a footage of a Versace convention/show so yes he did sell out BIG TIME. Regardless, The Stooges at one point were the best just like at one point Voivod was the best.
Sure he can since now he is catering to the same crowd that used to despise him and The Stooges. It makes perfect sense, that is if you're only in it for money.
This was right after the tour with Soundgarden and Faith no More , Voivod toured 3 weeks in Quebec with opening act the Big F . Then played 4 shows opening for Rush in Quebec city ,Montreal ,and Toronto . The band was then suppose to tour Europe ,but the tour was cancelled because of Noise Records in Germany .The band went into the studio in Toronto instead and recorded the album Angel Rat . I know this, because I was Voivod 's sound engineer at that time .

Yeah I did most of the tours from 1985 to 97 . They were good friends of mine . That tour was one their best . Funny thing on that tour ....My real name is Mike , I had long hair back then and looked alot like Mike Patten ( the singer of Faith No More ) . Alot of times fans thought that I was him ..and ask me for autographs . I think that all 3 bands were at their best in that time . 3 completely original and different styles and energys . it was all good ...
i have seen some metallica talk here and was wondering why anyone is talking about them this video has nothing to do wit them and it's also a iggy and the stooges cover so please stop with the metallica talk its really getting retarded
You're very welcome. I'm afraid I never learned to speak French, but I'll say that I envy anyone who was able to see Voivod live. They're one of the greatest metal bands of all time, and I love their music dearly.
What the hell! why did they have the name "search and destroy" when metallica made "seek and destroy". and if they were trying to make this song on purpose to make it sound like metallicas song then this song dosnt compare to metallica. (this song is crap in my eyes!!!).
hmm, as people mentionned this is a cover of a Iggy pop and the stooges song from the 70's (long before the metallica song). This song is pretty much a classic covered by many bands. Learn your classics before commenting.

Iggy should be able to make money playing at a Versace convention. He helped create this type of music and was hated for it by many ppl in the 70's.

He says "thank you for the nice souvenir(memory), I was there that night in March 1990 and I shared a glass with Snake in the bar later that night."
Or something close to that.

I love Voivod, but I wasn't expecting this cover to be that good. Nice surprise here. :)
Yossarian762 5 years ago
Yeah. Early Voivod had a lot of punk influence. You can hear a lot of it in Piggy's guitar style.

i understand he was more influenced by the Prog stuff.
