This car is awesome. The design alone put Toyota and Honda designs of the time to shame, and we're not even talking about the handling. They also were available with the 1.8L DOHC BP from the MX-5, which is a far better engine than the head gasket blowing crap Toyota was using!

Juz because of corolla makes you a comfortable driving environment so it can makes you sleep man... kakakkaka... can familia makes you sleep... no, because of familia is too shit that you need to put full concentration when you drive it or else you will end up death for sure... kakakakakaka... idiot!!! plus if Mazda is good at quality... how come they vanish their upper class brand Eunos??? and Toyota make a success in Lexus as their upper class vehicle brand... think about it idiot!!!

I used to have this car brand new at that time!!! It's SHIT!!! So I scrap it now and have a brand new Corolla, which I must say the best Japanese Family car ever since Toyota is a no: 1 car manufacturer in the whole Japan and Mazda, come on... only idiot drive that!!! Wow, you are clever. Mazda has passed Toyota at the quality-ranking for a long time ago. Toyotas are boring cars made for boring people. They dont even make any sportscars anymore. I have driven the new Corolla. I almost fell asleep behind the wheel..
Not only did Mazda have the various bodyshapes for the Familia - there was also the Ford Laser twin - the 3door Lynx and 4 door sedan were front and rear facelifts of the equivalent Familias - while the 5 door Laser was a bodystyle different again from the Lantis being similar to the regular 4door, but with hatchback rear styling!
i'm from Australia, i would have e love to Have seen the the last 3 door Mazda Familia that they produced, on our roads. Also, did you know you they still build the last Mazda familia in Colombia and Taiwan......oooh and in china a clone version of the Familia....made by Haima....Called the Haima Family II.
This was when Mazda were going through an 'interesting' phase - producing styles of the one car that looked completely different (the Familia range alone had TWO sedans, 3 and 5 door hatchbacks and a wagon (actually a rebadged Nissan) which all had their own look...
...It was even more convoluted overseas however - In New Zealand, Mazda were building THREE generations of 323 (85-89 shape wagon, budget price 89-94 shape sedan/3dr and 94 shape sedan and Lantis hatchback!)
