  • I don't speak a word of Japanese and therefore unfortunately cannot understand what the lyrics to this song mean. But these words are still beautiful to me. Art transcends all barriers.

  • @dudeness88 The title of this song "The Girl in Byakkoya - White Tiger Field" is connected with the White Tiger oil field in Vietnam.

  • Susumu Hirasawa is a genius!!!! :D

  • what is the name to the song. i was looking at the the ending credits and i could only read the first kanji for the name =[ lol

  • Yoiya naze ni mugen to bihai>

Intoxicated and wondering why there is infinity and beauty

Yoi ya nonde jinrui geko bihai>

    Intoxication, drink, humanity, non-drinkers, beauty

  • woah, where'd the words go? it's just the background pic

  • Why are all of Susumu Hirasawa's songs in hypothetic non-understandable codes?!

I mean, a part in the song is in taiwanese!

It says something like "Welcome, this is our future."

  • I agree with you

    I'm japanese

    WTF!!??

  • 最初の酔いや 何故に--の部分はいわゆる空耳で、歌詞も無ければ意味もありません。

    元は「Nurse Cafe」(Switched On Lotus ver.)をバラバラにしてサンプリングしたものです(ちなみに女声はLOLAを使用)。

  • Comment removed

  • Yoiya Naze Ni Mugen To Bihai.

Do anybody knows what that means? ^^'

  • @EnArgFlippy

Something like 'Intoxicated and wontering why there is infinity and beauty'

  • Thank you very much! :DD

  • Yoiya→ be intoxicated, nazeni→ why

mugen to→ infinity and, biihai→ beautiful cup

These are sentences strange as Japanese, because someone randomly applied the word.

Beginning and 2:47part are not lyrics and are not Japanese.

It isn't a word though these are heard like the word.

It is the one similar to "ee-eye, ee-eye oh".

Yoiya naze ni mugen to bihai

    Yoiya nonde jinrui geko bihai

These are not included in official lyrics.

When these enter, it is a wrong.

  • but those random added words seem to fit so well when we can see the translation! XD

why are we forever intoxicated? because of the beautiful cup!

    lol

  • But why does the Vocaloid say "Bi-yoh"?

    I'm confused...

But Hirasawa's voice, you can easily hear "gekou bihai."

  • BIHAI!!! i dont know what it means but it is my new favorite word

  • this is soooo beautiful!

  • for some reason when the dude starts singing at :51 it reminds me of the parinoia agent op

  • that's because it is by the same artist ; the master Susumu Hirasawa!!

He also worked on Millenium Actress (another film by the genius Satoshi Kon who created Paprika) and the epic anime Berserk, Just to name a few of Susumu's achievements!

  • i like just found out anyway i love this dudes music HES AWESOME!

  • I 'm sorry that a line is disturbed. :I

  • 3:02 The sky so high, dyed in red As if the clouds are burning like fire

3:10 On the day, on the days It shows you the way you had lost at that time

3:18 Chasing the wind thet blows in your dream Again and again

3:26 Along the river, along the river You saw an unknown flower of bliss

    ※ repeat

  • 1:58 Ah, the mantle erupts fluently into fire 2:06 In celebration of the person who stands in the abandoned field 2:14 Ah, in the silent, so silent view of the girl 2:22 Ah, in an unfamiliar city light begins to shine

2:38 (Vietnamese) Hello friends, Here is our homeland, Here is our future.

  • 1:18 "That is the town I showed you in your dreams," The shadow voice whispered

1:26 Day after day , after day, The times that you passed by thousands of crossroads

1:34 A wiseman in the dark collects discarded days.

1:42 Along the sea, along the sea He made an unknown flame dance

  • Is there a way to feature comments on this page? Thanks for the translations and work put into posting them!

And, of course, thanks to the YouTuber for posting the video.

  • Wrong lyrics of this song (The Girl in Byakkoya) has spread out to the overseas people who don't understand Japanese.

If right lyrics comes to be known, I am glad. (^_^)

  • English Translation

0:39 The distant sky, at the buzzing of a circle Of twirling flowers

0:46 On that day, on those days, whenever I chose a path The paths that I didn't take, were born as many parallel times

0:54 Lending yourself to the mirage, chasing the girl who points the way

1:02 The nameless wide field that appears from the hill Makes you feel nostalgic

  • "Yoiya naze ni mugen to bihai"

    "Yoiya nonde jinrui geko bihai"?

These parts are not lyrics (and are not Japanese).

These are not included in official lyrics.

Someone randomly applies the word, it was misunderstood as lyrics and spread out. :-(

  • the lyrics changes in the beginning: "Yoiya naze ni mugen to bihai" --> 0:23 "Yoiya nonde jinrui geko bihai"

  • Tooku no sora mawaru hana no enjin no kamabisushisa ni

Ano hi ga ano hi ni koeteekita toki ga me o samasu

those are right? or wrong? *so confused*

  • 0:47 Ano hi ga ano hi ni koetekita toki ga → Ano hi ya ano hi ni koetekita bunki ga

    0:54 hi o karite → mi o karite

1:02 hito wa → hirono wa

1:26 ikusen no toki o → ikusen no bunki o

    1:34 suterareta imi o → suterareta hibi o

3:03 Takaku sora akeni someshita hi no moreru gotokino → Takaku sora shu ni some hi noboreru gotokino

3:10 Ano hi yo ano hi yo → Ano hi ya ano hi ya

3:18 yume hibiku → yume ni fuku

3:26 shinku no ha na → shifuku no hana

  • so are these the right lyrics? *has been singing along every time she hears it to learn the words* XP

  • These are right lyrics.

Tooku no sora mawaru hana no enjin no kamabisushisa ni

Ano hi ya ano hi ni koetekita bunki ga me o samasu

Kagerou ni mi o karite michi o sasu musume o oi

  • ※Aa mantoru ga jyouzetsu ni hi o fukiagte Suterareta no ni tatsu hito o iwau yo Aa shizukana shizukana musume no shiya de Mishiranu miyako ni hi ga tomoridasu

  • Sorry. I correct these. :(

2:23 Aa mishiranu miyako ni hi ga tomoridasu

3:10Ano hi ya ano hi ya ano toki ni nakushita michi o mise

  • i am a metalhead but i really like this... and paprika

  • So am I ;)

  • 2:38 " Xin chào các bạn, đây là quê hương của chúng tôi, đây là tương lai của chúng tôi"

→ Hello friends, this is our homeland, this is our future.

  • at 2:40, its in vietnamese. it says, "greetings my friends, here is" and i couldnt hear the rest

  • wow awesome! :D

  • yea....... its really hard to find the right lyrics... and these arent them. but thanks for trying

  • 3:03 Takaku sora ake ni some

    →Takaku sora shu mi some

  • there is vietnamese in this song. starts at 2:38 for those who want to hear it. very short though.

  • Yoiya nazeni mugen no bihai

    Yoiya nonde jinrui geko bihai

These parts do not originally have a lyrics.

Somebody applied words (Japanese), and it has spread out as a lyrics.

  • The part of "Yoiya naze ni..." is not a lyric and is not Japanese. Someone applied words randomly.

  • yoiya, maybe not, but naze ni is defintely japanese.....

  • It's Japanese

  • I think the begining part in the begining is the vietnamese, the rest is japanese

  • not vietnamese....the voice sounds like vietnamese but its not.

    they keep saying

Yoiya naze ni mugen to bihai

Yoiya naze ni mugen to bihai

  • Well, no matter in what language the song is, I love it anyway! I mean, it's so.... I dunno, perfect....

  • can anyone tell what the vietnamese part was??? i couldn't catch it....

  • The first part of it was "Welcome, this is our home country" or something like that.

  • It sort of sounds like the Paranoia Agent opening song...I know Paprika and Paranoia Agent are both Satoshi Kon's work.

  • It's Japanese and Vietnamese

  • it's only japanese...my friend knows vietnamese, she says no vietnamese in the whole song. it's the tone that makes it sound lik eit but its not

  • Nevermind, it's Vietnamese. Does anybody notice that the lyrics of the first line at 3:03 don't match up with the song?? WHAT IS IT?!????!!

  • They're not supposed to. They mean different things.

  • Susumu Hirasawa's lyrics are always like that.

  • not vietnamese...my whole family is vietnamese, i made them all hear it.

they say it sounds similar but the words are clearly not....

  • i love this song, although i love kaito's version better

  • I f'ing love this song.

  • yes but what does it mean!

  • I'm half japanese and can send you the translation in a message. But some words in this are not japanese.Byakkoya for example is the name of an oil company not situated in japan.

  • Apparently it's really Byakkoy or something along the lines of that that means white tiger fields or something along those lines.

  • Some of it sounds Chinese.

  • Vietnamese, close.

  • I just saw the movie and thought it was one of the best songs ever!

  • I find Vietnamese mixed in with the japanese.^^

  • no vietnamese

  • A mantle blows up fire in garrulity and celebrates a person standing in a field thrown away.

In a field of vision of a quiet quiet girl, the unknown capital is lighted.

  • i love hirisawa, the songs flow so well...

  • TT"

  • and what is the name of the last song?

MUST WATCH.

  • oh this song is so great, excellent beat and a catchy tune matched with excellent vocals. I'm sure if i could understand the lyrics I'd like it even more.

  • I listen to this song every day...

  • i think everyone who owns it does

  • Thanks for the upload. I accidentally clicked the 1 star, so don't pay attention to a slightly lower rating. D: Sorry about that.

  • Could some guy from Japan write the text in kanji? It would allow us to translate it in google translate.

  • Why not translate it yourself? Once u get into learning Japanese Its quite simple (as long as u dont take massive breaks from learning it).

  • you seriously suggest learning japanese?

  • Yeah XD It's easy once you get the hang of it

  • yeah, right...

  • It's actually not that bad. It depends on how you learn, I think. Spanish and French is hard to me, but I pick up Japanese fast.

  • it is cuz when i was 9/10 I was already able to translate a bit of Japanese and also to speak it a bit!!!

  • I suggest it too! Speaking/listening isn't very hard at all--the writing is more difficult, as well as the reading. But the structure is very straightforward.

  • watch?v=TAiHSHBYKFg

in the section of "more info" , the lyrics written in japanese.

however i'm afraid the lyrics of this song is too poetic and picturesque to make an automatic translation system express its world-view and beauty...

  • i liked the one they used better then this one

  • この曲が大好きです。

  • Damn me sa want more great movies with great soundtrack from Satoshi Kon and Susumu Hirasawa

  • Thank you! I love this song!!

  • the singer sounds like the person who sang the first op of paranoia agent : O

  • That's because they're the same people. XD

  • whats this song called?

  • The Girl In Byakkoya i think its called.

  • No, this is Girl in Byakkoya, as stated by iwannabeamongoose28.

  • Actually, the full name of the song is

The Girl in Byakkoya - White Tiger Field

But Chaos got the jist of it
