you can also do gypsy divers in raleigh, i know the owner and he's awesome. i did my certification there but i have a relative who got certified at aquatic safaris and it was pretty good too.
Beautiful footage! That was a good day out there it looks like. I'll be diving this on the 14th out of Carolina Beach. Looking forward to seeing this wreck in person! Thanks for posting.
There are no Reefs off of North Carolina. The area from Wilmington to Cape Hatteras is the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" because of the convergence of the Labrador current and the Gulf Stream causing weather problems off the Hatteras point, as well as the free-for-all German U-boats experienced here in the early parts of WW2.
@thesaint252 i meant to say that i am working towards that degree.....But thank you for pointing out my error in spelling....again thank you for taking the time out of your day to correct me :)
The area offshore of Wilmington is called the graveyard of the Atlantic because of the dangerous reefs. Tons of Wrecks, even some German u-boats. Also why the river is called the Cape Fear River. Wilmington is my home, though ive been away for years. I dream of returning.
Did I tell you about the dolphins here around island? Can't remember who I told while ago. The come when I drum on pier, especially early morn and late evenings. Try it. Even in boat, drum on hull below waterline, they love it and gravitate to it. The drumming I use is from the beginning of song "Tusk" by Fleetwood Mac~ Mick Fleetwood learned it whilst in Africa from some tribe. It really works. Awesome photography, the visibility is way good. Dang, like pro.
This looks like a great dive. I'm going to have to add NC to my dive someday list. The trick will be getting to the coast with my brother living in the Raliegh/Durham area.

I'm going to moving there from Hawaii. It looks like some good diving. Are there any shops that teach tech diving|?
diverkev 4 years ago
The shop I work with, Aquatic Safaris, has a tech instructor that can teach up to TDI Deco Procedures.
